Flexible Development Architecture for Game NPC Intelligence to Support Load Sharing and Group Behavior (게임NPC지능 개발을 위한 부하분산과 그룹 행동을 지원하는 유연한 플랫폼 구조)

  • As computer games become more complex and consumers demand more sophisticated computer controlled NPCs, developers are required to place a greater emphasis on the artificial intelligence aspects for their games. The platform for game NPC Intelligence Development should support real-time, independence, flexibility, group behavior, and various A.I to NPC that are reactive, realistic and easy to develop. This paper presents an architecture to satisfy these criteria for the platform of game NPC intelligence development. The proposed platform shows the higher performance than existing platform through the load sharing, and it also has some advantages which are supporting the various AI techniques, efficient group behavior, and independence to develop NPC intelligence.

Elicitation of Collective Intelligence by Fuzzy Relational Methodology (퍼지관계 이론에 의한 집단지성의 도출)

  • The collective intelligence is a common-based production by the collaboration and competition of many peer individuals. In other words, it is the aggregation of individual intelligence to lead the wisdom of crowd. Recently, the utilization of the collective intelligence has become one of the emerging research areas, since it has been adopted as an important principle of web 2.0 to aim openness, sharing and participation. This paper introduces an approach to seek the collective intelligence by cognition of the relation and interaction among individual participants. It describes a methodology well-suited to evaluate individual intelligence in information retrieval and classification as an application field. The research investigates how to derive and represent such cognitive intelligence from individuals through the application of fuzzy relational theory to personal construct theory and knowledge grid technique. Crucial to this research is to implement formally and process interpretatively the cognitive knowledge of participants who makes the mutual relation and social interaction. What is needed is a technique to analyze cognitive intelligence structure in the form of Hasse diagram, which is an instantiation of this perceptive intelligence of human beings. The search for the collective intelligence requires a theory of similarity to deal with underlying problems; clustering of social subgroups of individuals through identification of individual intelligence and commonality among intelligence and then elicitation of collective intelligence to aggregate the congruence or sharing of all the participants of the entire group. Unlike standard approaches to similarity based on statistical techniques, the method presented employs a theory of fuzzy relational products with the related computational procedures to cover issues of similarity and dissimilarity.

  • Education for the future society should emphasize the experience of sharing, coexisting, and solving problems in cooperation with each other in the community. Accordingly, in addition to the problem-solving capability, which is the ultimate goal of mathematics education, it is necessary to strengthen the capability to solve unstructured problems through collaboration. This study attempted to suggest that solving complex problems through collaboration is used in school classes or gifted education by introducing polymath that solves problems using collective intelligence. Accordingly, a target problem was set and an example of polymath in which community members exert each other's intelligence to solve the problem. In addition, by investigating the perceptions of students who have experienced polymath, positive aspects and improvements of polymath were suggested. Through this, this study can contribute to revitalization of mathematics teaching and learning methods using collective intelligence.

Treemapping Work-Sharing Relationships among Business Process Performers (트리맵을 이용한 비즈니스 프로세스 수행자간 업무공유 관계 시각화)

  • Recently, the importance of visual analytics has been recognized in the field of business intelligence. From the view of business intelligence, visual analytics aims for acquiring valuable insights for decision making by interactively visualizing a variety of business information. In this paper, we propose a treemap-based method for visualizing work-sharing relationships among business process performers. A work-sharing relationship is established between two performers who jointly participate in a specific activity of a business process and is an important factor for understanding organizational structures and behaviors in a process-centric organization. To this end, we design and implement a treemap-based visualization tool for representing work-sharing relationships as well as basic hierarchical information in business processes. Finally, we evaluate usefulness of the proposed visualization tool through an operational example using XPDL (XML Process Definition Language) process models.

A Study on the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Elementary Science Education (초등과학교육에서 인공지능의 적용방안 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate elementary school teachers' awareness of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and find out how to apply it in elementary science education. The survey was conducted online and involved 95 teachers working in the metropolitan area. The results of this study are as follows. First, teachers need to learn about the general characteristics of AI and how to apply it to education. Second, science classes had the highest preference for AI among elementary school subjects. Third, the preference for AI application by elementary science field was 68.4% for earth and space, 54.7% for exercise and energy, 32.6% for matter, 27.4% for life. Fourth, AI-based Science Education (AISE) teaching- learning strategies were developed based on AI characteristics and the changing perspective of elementary science education, AISE's teaching-learning strategies are five: 'automation', 'individualization', 'diversification', 'cooperation' and 'creativity' and teachers can use them in teaching design, class practice and evaluation stages. Finally, the creative problem-solving Doing Thinking Making Sharing (DTMS) model was devised to implement the creativity strategy in AISE. This model consists of four-steps teaching courses: Doing, Thinking, Making and Sharing based on the empirical learning theory. In the future, follow-up research is needed to verify the effectiveness of this model by applying it to elementary science education.

What is Shared in Collaborative Problem Solving Process of Scientific Gifted Students? (과학영재들은 협업적 문제해결과정에서 무엇을 공유하는가?)

  • Collective intelligence has been focused because it plays an important role for creating knowledge. In order to solve a problem with collective intelligence, collaborative works sharing information are required. In this study, we have investigated what informations are shared while 4 science gifted students are asked for scientific explanation to the problem which is cognitive conflict. They have shared presupposition and problem in stage of problem finding, aims and means of problem solving in stage of setting up hypotheses, and constraints for evaluation and results of evaluation in stage of hypotheses evaluation. Our research tells that group can create knowledge through sharing information and make a change of their concepts. Our foundation of these spontaneous conceptual change gives an implication for gifted education.

  • The importance of ethics in research and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly recognized not only in the field of healthcare but throughout society. This article intends to provide domestic readers with practical points regarding the ethical issues of using radiological images for AI research, focusing on data security and privacy protection and the right to data. Therefore, this article refers to related domestic laws and government policies. Data security and privacy protection is a key ethical principle for AI, in which proper de-identification of data is crucial. Sharing healthcare data to develop AI in a way that minimizes business interests is another ethical point to be highlighted. The need for data sharing makes the data security and privacy protection even more important as data sharing increases the risk of data breach.

  • This paper describes the configuration of a multi-agent system that can recognize human intentions. This system constructs ontologies of human intentions and enables knowledge acquisition and sharing between intelligent agents operating in different environments. This is achieved by using a bi-directional associative memory network. The process of intention recognition is based on fuzzy association inferences. This paper shows the process of information sharing by using ontologies. The purpose of this research is to create human-centered systems that can provide a natural interface in their interaction with people.

The Influence of Quality and Satisfaction on the Quality Data Sharing of Mobile Telecommunication Service (이동통신서비스의 품질과 만족이 품질데이터 공유의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of quality and satisfaction of mobile telecommunication service on the quality data sharing for mobile telecommunication service. Based on the theory of reasoned action(TRA), we proposed a research model that (1) service qualities significantly influence the service satisfaction and the attitude towards information sharing, (2) the attitude towards information sharing mediates between service satisfaction and the intention of information sharing, and (3) the intention of information sharing is affected by the service satisfaction and the attitude towards information sharing. Empirical analysis of mobile service users showed that the data quality of mobile communication services had a greater impact on satisfaction than voice quality. The service satisfaction had a positive effect on attitude towards information sharing and the intention of information sharing. Also, the attitude towards information sharing had a positive impact on the intention of information sharing. Based on this empirical study, we proposed a crowdsourcing as an alternative when quality data of mobile telecommunication service should be collected to improve telecommunication policy because by using collective intelligence of the crowdsourcing the government can gather more accurate and diverse data on mobile telecommunication service.

The Emotional Intelligence, Defense Mechanism and Interpersonal Caring Behavior by Enneagram Personality Types in Nursing Students (에니어그램 성격유형에 따른 간호대학생의 정서지능, 방어기제와 대인돌봄행위)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the emotional intelligence, defense mechanism and interpersonal caring behavior by enneagram personality types in nursing students. Methods: A descriptive survey design was used and data were collected using questionnaires from a sample of 263 nursing students. The data were analyzed using by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis with SPSS 20.0. Results: In the enneagram personality types, the nursing students was highly measured the type 9(Peacemaker). Emotional intelligence was significantly associated with financial status of parents, motivation of admission and satisfaction of nursing by enneagram characters. Hoping and sharing of interpersonal caring behaviors were significantly differentiated with the power type of enneagram personality. And active listening, comforting, participating of interpersonal caring behaviors were the most popular among the 9 types of personality. There was a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and interpersonal caring behavior. Conclusion: This study suggest that nursing students should be educated the interpersonal caring behavior program considering emotional intelligence and enneagram personality types.
