  • Recently, a need of non-industrial robot, such as service, medical, entertainment and house-keeping robot, has been increased. Therefore, the capability of robot which can do intelligent behavior like interaction with men and its environment become more prominent than the capability of executing simple repetitive task. To implement an intelligent robot which provides intelligent behavior, an effective system architecture including perception, learning, reasoning and action part is necessary. Control architectures for intelligent robot can be divided into two different classes. One is deliberative type controller which is applicate to high level intelligence like environment ...

  • The autonomous robot has the ability of obstacle avoidance and target tracking with some manufactured information. In this paper, it is shown that autonomous mobile robot can avoid fixed obstacles using the map made before and the fuzzy controller is adopted with the global path planing and the local path planing when the robot navigates. With that map sensor, information will be used when an autonomous robot navigates. This paper proves that robot can navigate through optimized route and keep the stable condition.

  • A concept of the semi-autonomous tele-weeding-system which performs weeding tasks through co-operation of human and machine intelligence is proposed. The tele-weeding system consists of weeding robot, communication networks and operating server. The images of plants taken by the weeding robot are transferred through the communication networks to the human operator. Positions of the weeds are indicated at the operating host by the operator and transferred back to the weeding robot. Such position informations are converted to the world space and the weeding is done based on the robot intelligence. Feasibility of such concept has been tested through development of a laboratory model of the system.

  • In this paper, the Artificial Intelligence Space(AI-Space) for human-robot interface is presented, which can enable human-computer interfacing, networked camera conferencing, industrial monitoring, service and training applications. We present a method for representing, tracking, and objects(human, robot, chair) following by fusing distributed multiple vision systems in AI-Space. The article presents the integration of color distributions into particle filtering. Particle filters provide a robust tracking framework under ambiguous conditions. We propose to track the moving objects(human, robot, chair) by generating hypotheses not in the image plane but on the top-view reconstruction of the scene.

  • Human's brain action can divide by recognition and intelligence. recognition is sensing voice, image and smell and Intelligence is logical judgment, inference, decision. To this concept, Define function of cerebral cortex, and apply the result. Current expert system is lack, that reasoning by cerebral cortex and thalamus, hoppocampal and so on. In this paper, With human's brain action, wish to embody human's action artificially Embody brain mechanism using Modular Neural Network, Applied this result to snake robot.

  • This paper describes the effect of a robot cognitive rehabilitation program on cognitive functions for the elderly with mild cognitive impairment, and compares it with traditional cognitive therapy programs. Three experiment groups including cognition therapy group, robot cognitive rehabilitation group, and hybrid group have been sampled and one comparative group has been organized for this research. 32 old people whose ages are between 61 and 88 with mild cognitive impairment participated in the programs with an admission of W care hospital. According to the program results, the cognitive therapy program alone had shown a positive effect on the attention function, and the robot cognitive rehabilitation program alone had a positive effect on the total intelligence and memory function. However, a simultaneous operation with both programs had shown a positive effect on the three intelligence areas such as total, basic, and management quotients as well as attention and memory functions as subsidiary factors. This paper has verified that the proposed robot cognitive rehabilitation program makes a positive effect on a cognitive function and plays a complementary role with traditional cognitive therapy programs.

  • This paper studies a GPS error filtering method that takes into account the continuity of the ongoing path to enhance the safety of autonomous agricultural mobile robots. Real-Time Kinematic Global Positioning System (RTK-GPS) is increasingly utilized for robot position evaluation in outdoor environments due to its significantly higher reliability compared to conventional GPS systems. However, in orchard environments, the robot's current position obtained from RTK-GPS information can become unstable due to unknown disturbances like orchard canopies. This problem can potentially lead to navigation errors and path deviations during the robot's movement. These issues can be resolved by filtering out GPS information that deviates from the continuity of the waypoints traversed, based on the robot's assessment of its current path. The contributions of this paper is as follows. 1) The method based on the previous waypoints of the traveled path to determine the current position and trajectory. 2) GPS filtering method based on deviations from the determined path. 3) Finally, verification of the navigation errors between the method applying the error filter and the method not applying the error filter.

  • The article explores the prospects and trends for the transformation of some basic concepts of law associated with the development of artificial intelligence systems and the problems of liability for harm caused by a robot. The prospects, conditions and consequences of vesting robots with partial (quasi) or full legal personality are explored. This process should lead to a revision of the concepts of will, subjective side and legal responsibility in the direction of their greater universalization. The legally significant signs of will, legal personality, legal liability in relation to robots, artificial intelligence systems and other complex automated information systems are clarified. The author identifies the following essential factors of legal qualification of an act committed by a robot: goals, reasons for setting goals, connections between the planned result and the action taken, the actual result, the reasons for the difference between the actual result and the planned one. The article pays special attention to the preventive function of legal liability, which, when applied to robot subjects, can be expressed in the following basic procedures. 1. Accounting for legal requirements in the behavior of the robot. 2. Timely adaptation of the robot to changes in legislation and other regulatory legal acts that affect its behavior. 3. Accounting for incidents. 4. Destruction of a series of robots whose actions lead to unacceptable consequences.
