The study investigated the Integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to the Library and Information Science Curriculum: The Practicum in Library Schools in Rivers State. Descriptive survey design was used with a population 374 comprising 21 LIS educators and 353 Four Hundred Level Library and Information Science Students from University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, and Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Port Harcourt. Census sampling technique was used to select the LIS educators and purposive sampling technique was used to the select the Four Hundred Level LIS students. Questionnaire and checklist were used for data collection. 90% and 97% responses were found valid for analysis for LIS Educators and LIS students respectively. The study was analyzed using mean rating, standard deviation and simple percentage. The study revealed that ICT courses were integrated into LIS curriculum in Library schools in Rivers State but LIS educators lacked the ICT skills to teach ICT practicum consequently, the students were not properly taught ICT practicum. However, students had positive perception of ICT practicum. Notwithstanding, lack of ICT skills, poor policy implementation, lack of state-of-the-art infrastructure and nonchalant attitudes of staff towards the adoption of ICT constituted the challenges faced in the implementation of ICT practicum. The study therefore, recommended that the management of library schools in Rivers State should implement ICT practicum by hiring competent staff maybe from computers science department to teach the practicum for the interim. Subsequently, recruitment of librarians should include strictly ICT compliant.

Purpose: This study examines the effects of integrating Evidence Based Practice (EBP) into a critical care clinical practicum on nursing students' access and use of information resources and EBP competency. Methods: A one-group pretest-posttest design was used. Fifty senior nursing school students from a university participated. A critical care clinical practicum combined with EBP consisted of six full days of clinical practicum in intensive care units with EBP education. Group and individual training in EBP skills, lectures, small group discussion and conferences were provided. Data were analyzed using paired t tests for 50 participants. Results: The scores of evidence based practice competency increased significantly (p<.001) showing significant improvement in searching and classifying the evidence. Nursing students' access and use of research evidence improved (p=.004). Conclusion: This study showed that the integration of EBP into a clinical practicum was effective in improving accessibility and usefulness in research evidence such as guidelines and research articles, and increasing EBP competency in undergraduate students.

Purpose: This practice study was done to describe the process and outcomes of application of Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) Education to nursing management clinical practicum and suggest strategies to diffuse EBN into nursing management education. Methods: Education on the evidence based nursing management process was provided to 65 senior nursing students from a university. Nursing management clinical practicum integrated with EBN. The setting was a five full day-clinical practicum. Group and individual training on EBN process with lectures, small group discussions, conferences, and educational prescription were provided. Outcomes were analyzed using paired t test for 65 participants. Results: Evidence based nursing competency increased significantly showing improvement in understanding EBN, formulating clinical question, searching & classifying the evidence, recognizing level of evidence, considering patient preference, and evaluating outcomes. Nursing students' access and use of evidence based information resource also improved. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the application of EBN to nursing management clinical practicum is effective to improve EBN competency in undergraduate students and should be further applied in nursing education using the systematic strategies.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an integrated nursing practicum education matrix based on the learning outcomes of each stage. Methods: In this Delphi technique study, 10 experts, consisting of six professors and four nurses, participated in the development of the matrix. The first step was an in-depth review for the composition of the questionnaire and the second step was the Delphi technique. The Delphi survey was conducted two times in order to complete the components of the matrix. The survey data was analyzed for statistical averages and standard deviations to decide the order of priority. Results: According to each stage (i.e. fundamental stage, competent stage, and proficient stage), the matrix was composed of education contents, methods, evaluation methods, and curriculum outcomes. Conclusion: The integrated nursing practicum education matrix of Y University was completed. The developed matrix will result in a reduction in the gap between nursing education and clinical practice and an improvement in nursing competency.

Purpose: Integrated curriculum has been considered as a desirable method in health related school course. The present study was conducted to develop practice curriculum which integrates nursing management and community health nursing and measure the education effect. Method: Literature review and scores of professional meeting were carried out to generate main educational goals, contents, operating principle, and evaluation item. Student evaluation was done by survey and in-dept interview in right after practicum and three months respectively. Results: Six concepts were derived as main component of the integrated curriculum. From 2 to 3 sub-categories were matched to each main component as well. Subsequently, practice contents were suggested on the basis of sub-categories. Attainment of practicum goal scores ranged from 2.82 to 3.54 in four points index. Students expressed that they found nursing manager's role in the community setting. Conclusion: This new approach encouraged students to ascertain relationship between hospital oriented and community based practice. Additionally, they can be prepared to comprehend diverse health care environment.

목적 본 연구의 목적은 아동대상자의 수술 후 간호를 주제로 문제기반학습 연계 시뮬레이션 교육 프로그램(simulation integrated with problem based learning, SIM-PBL) 개발과정을 기술하고, 교육 프로그램이 간호대학생의 임상간호 수행능력과 자아 효능감에 미치는 효과를 파악하기 위함이다. 방법 본 연구는 대조군 중재군 전후 시차 설계를 통한 유사 실험 연구이다. 자료수집 기간은 2012년 4월 23일부터 5월 18일까지 총 4주간이었다. 연구대상은 4년제 간호학과의 3학년에 재학 중인 학생을 대상으로 아동간호학 임상실습 중인 학생을 편의표집 하였고, 시차를 이용하여 대조군 18명, 중재군 18명으로 구성하였다. 대조군에게는 기존 임상실습교육이 제공되고, 중재군에게는 임상실습 시간 중 150분을 SIM-PBL로 대체하였다. SIM-PBL의 효과 평가를 위해 시뮬이션을 기반으로 한 임상간호 수행능력 평가(simulation based clinical examination, SCE)와 자아효능감이 이용되었다. 결과 SIM-PBL 교육을 받은 중재군은 대조군과 비교하여, 교육 후 임상간호 수행능력의 향상 정도가 일부 영역에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(신체검진: 3.019, p =.005; 수술 후 교육: t=2.428, p =.021). 그러나 자아효능감은 두 군 사이에 통계적으로 유의한 어떤 차이도 보여주지 못하였다. 결론 본 연구에서 사용된 SIM-PBL은 간호대학생들의 아동대상자를 위한 수술 후 간호 및 투약수행에 대한 임상간호 수행능력의 일부 영역을 향상시키는데 효과적이었다. 본 연구는 시뮬레이션 기반 교육과 문제기반학습의 두 가지 교육방법을 혼합하여 교육 프로그램을 구성하였고, 구조화된 체크리스트 도구를 통해 객관적으로 임상간호 수행능력을 평가하였다는 점에 의의가 있으며, 추후 이러한 교육 프로그램의 적극적 활용 및 중재의 크기에 따라 효과를 다양하게 입증하는 연구가 수행될 것을 제언한다.

본 연구는 간호학생이 시뮬레이션 실습교육 과정을 통해 문제 해결능력을 향상시키면서 경험하는 성취의 본질을 밝히고자 하는 목적으로 진행되었다. 연구대상은 4학년 간호학생 13명으로 시뮬레이션 실습 후 성취경험에 대한 개별 인터뷰를 통해 자료수집하였다. 자료분석은 질적연구 방법인 내용분석에 따라 자료를 코딩, 범주화, 주제화 단계로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과로 도출된 간호학생의 시뮬레이션 실습을 통한 성취 경험에 대한 결과는 '개선을 통해 자신감을 확인하는 과정', '변화를 확인하는 과정', '간호의 효능감을 경험', '임상이라는 목표에 가까워짐' 이었다. 또한 간호학생이 성찰을 통한 지식의 내면화 과정을 확인하고 시뮬레이션실습을 통한 통합적 학습이 이루어질 수 있도록 다방면의 면밀한 설계를 통한 효율적인 운영과 평가도구를 적용하는 시도가 진행되기를 제언한다.

본 연구에서는 직접실천기관에서 실습을 이수한 재학생을 대상으로 실습지도 실태 및 실천수행능력에 영향을 미치는 요인을 조사하였다. 조사결과, 첫째, 수퍼비전 정도는 4점 척도에서 평균 2.6(표준편차 .5), 실천수행능력은 11점 척도에서 평균 56.7(표준편차 1.7)점으로 나타나, 모두 거의 중간수준으로 응답했으며, 수퍼비전 요인 가운데 이론과 실천의 통합에 대한 지도와 지지적인 사적 관계 형성 요인이, 그리고 실천수행능력 요인 가운데 개입기술 능력과 사례관리 능력 요인이 상대적으로 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 수퍼비전과 실천수행능력의 요인들간의 상관관계는 모두 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 실천수행능력은 수퍼비전 요인 가운데서도 이론과 실천의 통합에 대한 지도가 많을수록, 기관 업무에 대한 지도가 많을수록, 학습계약에 대한 논의를 많이 하고 수퍼비전 시간이 많을수록 증가되는 것으로 나타났다. 이외에 실습생이 여성일 경우, 그리고 수퍼바이저의 수퍼바이저로서의 경력이 적을수록 실천수행능력이 높게 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 대학과 기관에서 협력하여 실습지도를 효과적으로 운영하기 위한 제언을 하였다. 또한 궁극적으로 사회복지 교육의 효과성을 제고하기 위한 연구 및 노력의 필요성을 제기하였다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the needs of prior field learning and the academic achievement of field experience learning in a college. Methods: This study was performed from May 1 to October 30, and students were given questionnaire. The research questionnaire as follows: (1) to investigate the academic achievement after field experience learning, (2) to verify the needs of field experience learning. A statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 17.0 for window version. Results: The results was as follows : First, satisfaction of field learning had scored good(47.2%) in lesson goal, good(51.8%) in acquisition of knowledge and techniques, good(51.0%) in preparation of study and good(45.9%) in association. Second, curriculum of field learning had scored normal(35.5%) in prior education, good(47.4%) in composition, good(50.8%) in guidance and good(47.2%) in contents. Third, curriculum of field learning had scored good(44.6%) in duration, good(46.1%) in numbers, good(51.3%) in convenience and normal(38.1%) in means of transportation. Forth, needs of field learning had scored good(46.6%) in field learning of practicum, good(48.2%) in field learning of theory subject, 3-4 times(42.0%) in frequency of field learning and 2hours(57.3%) in a field learning hour. Conclusion: These findings suggest that college student's thinking of field experience learning is positive. Field experience learning provided that college students have directly an opportunity of gaining valuable experience to feel the field.

최근 간호교육의 질적 향상을 위한 노력이 지속되고 있으며, 디지털 기술의 활용에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 간호실습교육 분야에서도 디지털 기술의 활용이 강조되고 있는데, 이는 학습자들에게 보다 효과적이고 접근성이 용이한 교육 경험을 제공할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 개별학습자의 학습성과를 통합적으로 관리할 수 있다는 잠재력을 지니고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 전망을 바탕으로 디지털 간호실습교육 플랫폼을 개발, 교수자와 학습자들이 실습교육에 필요한 교육 내용과 콘텐츠의 특성에 따라 기능을 선택할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 UI는 학습자가 주어진 과업과 과제에 대한 정확한 이해와 수행을 돕도록 디자인되었다. 본 연구에서는 플랫폼의 설계 및 구현 과정을 상세히 기술하고, 10명의 각기 다른 실습 교과목을 담당하는 교수자의 피드백을 바탕으로 플랫폼의 유용성을 검증하였다. 디지털 간호실습교육 플랫폼의 높은 사용성이 확인되었고, 학습자들의 학습 효과 향상에 유의미한 영향에 대한 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 디지털 플랫폼은 향후 간호교육의 혁신적인 전환을 이끌어 낼 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
