  • With the recent development of emerging technologies, information acquisition and delivery between users has been actively conducted, and inorganic thin film transfer technology that effectively transfers various materials and devices is being studied to develop flexible electronic devices accordingly. This is aimed at innovative structural changes and functional improvement of electronic devices in the era of the Internet of Things (IoT). In particular, advanced technologies such as microLEDs are used to realize high-resolution flexible displays, and the possibility of heterogeneous integrated technologies can be presented by precisely transferring materials to substrates through various transfer process. This paper introduced physical, chemical, and self-assembly transfer methods based on inorganic thin film materials to implement heterogeneous integrated flexible semiconductor systems and introduces the results of application studies of semiconductor devices obtained through different transfer technologies. These studies are expected to bring about innovative changes in the field of smart devices, medical technology, and user interfaces in the future.

  • This study was conducted to examine the current status of record management in parliamentary offices and identify areas of improvement. For this, in-depth interviews were conducted primarily with parliamentary aides to investigate their perceptions and needs. The research revealed that although the responsibility for record management in parliamentary offices lies with the aides, systematic record management is lacking because of inadequate awareness. While some aides recognize the importance of record management, there is still a need for a change in perception and practice. Furthermore, the study found that there is a lack of systematic education and support for effective implementation. The perceptions of aides were classified into three types: proactive (type A), pragmatically adaptive (type B), and those emphasizing the specificity of parliamentary records (type C). In particular, the change in perception of aides in types B and C is crucial, considering their pivotal role in parliamentary office record management. In response, this study suggests education and awareness improvement programs for record management, the introduction of an integrated record management system, and the establishment of policy and institutional support as key tasks.

  • We present a cost-effective dual polarization quadrature phase-shift coherent receiver module using a silica planar lightwave circuit (PLC) hybrid assembly. Two polarization beam splitters and two $90^{\circ}$ optical hybrids are monolithically integrated in one silica PLC chip with an index contrast of $2%-{\Delta}$. Two four-channel spot-size converter integrated waveguide-photodetector (PD) arrays are bonded on PD carriers for transverse-electric/transverse-magnetic polarization, and butt-coupled to a polished facet of the PLC using a simple chip-to-chip bonding method. Instead of a ceramic sub-mount, a low-cost printed circuit board is applied in the module. A stepped CuW block is used to dissipate the heat generated from trans-impedance amplifiers and to vertically align RF transmission lines. The fabricated coherent receiver shows a 3-dB bandwidth of 26 GHz and a common mode rejection ratio of 16 dB at 22 GHz for a local oscillator optical input. A bit error rate of $8.3{\times}10^{-11}$ is achieved at a 112-Gbps back-to-back transmission with off-line digital signal processing.

  • The design of safety computer system is described along with the case of software design and testing in the Core Protection Calculator System (CPCS). The application of computer system in safety system requires not only hardware qualification but thorough testing on software to verify its correctness and completeness. The testing on software for CPCS is performed by comparing the outputs of two versions of code. One is implemented in assembly language and the other is in Fortran. The testing is performed in sequencial and overlapping manner. Phase I test verifies that each software module is implemented correctly by executing every branch. Phase II test verifies that the integrated software is complete, meeting its requirements specification and also the integrated system meet its requirement and timing constraints. Through these testing, the Yonggwang Nuclear Power Plant Units (YGN) 3 and 4 CPCS software is verified to be correct and complete, and the integrated system is designed as in its requirements specification.

  • The manufacture of organic electronic circuits requires effective heterogeneous integration of different nanoscale organic materials with uniform morphology and crystallinity in a desired arrangement on a substrate. Herein, we present a new direct printing method, which enables monolithic integration of crystalline nanowire arrays with a diverse range of organic materials. In this method, we use a nanoscale patterned soft mold, which contains an assembly of simple nanoline patterns but, in combination with droplet of various organic inks, can produce a large-scale integration of various nanopatterns with multiple kinds of organic materials. The morphology of organic nanowires can controlled by nanoconfinement in nanoline of mold. And mutual alignment of nanopatterns can be controlled by adjusting the ink droplet size, number of droplets, ink deposition locations.

  • The nonlinear impacts between the Control Element Drive Mechanisms (CEDMs) seismic cap plates installed on the CEDM top of a pressurized water reactor are studied with the dynamically reduced models of the CEDM and Integrated Head Assembly (IHA). It is important to develope nonlinear models considering the gap effects between the plates. In order to simulate impacts, reduced models for the primary structures, such as CEDM and IHA, are developed through simplifying detailed models, and the nonlinear structural analysis is performed under seismic loading conditions. The responses are examined in various gap sizes depending on the reactor operating conditions.

  • This paper presents an integrated and automated inspection system using image processing technology for the automotive engine assembly process. The system make it possible for the inspected data to be entered directly from the machine vision into the statistical process control system. Such direct entry enables the prompt preparation of corrective actions against process problems. An IVP-150 machine vision board is installed within the PC for image processing, and a template matching technology is implemented to precisely verify quality factors. The developed system showed robustness to the problems of noise, distortion, and orientation.

  • The configuration of injection molded part can be classified into primary feature and supplementary feature. Even though supplementary features such as ribs, snap fits and bosses make mold more complicated, which cause the increasement of the mold cost, supplementary features should be attached to primary features because of assembly, reinforcement, moldability and other functional purposes. But it is not easy for novice designers to design them appropriately because of the profound knowledge related to Injection molding. In this paper, the intelligent design tool called ISFD(Intelligent Supplementary Feature Designer) which supplies easy, simple, time and cost-effective design method has been studied and developed. A knowledge-based design system is a new tool which enables the concurrent design and CIM with integrated and balanced design decisions at the initial design stage of injection molding.

  • Despite of importance of integrated events of nucleus and microtubule remodeling in nuclear transferred embryos with somatic cells, little information is available on this subject. In this study we compared chromatin, r-tubulin and microtubule organization in porcine oocytes following somatic cell nuclear transfer and parthenogenetically activation in order to clarify nuclear remodeling process and to demonstrate centrosome inheritance during nuclear transfer. • Roles of reactor internals are to support nuclear fuel, provide insertion and withdrawal channels of nuclear fuel control rods, and carry out core cooling. In case of functional loss of the reactor internals, it may lead to severe accidents caused by damage of nuclear fuel assembly and deterioration of reactor vessel due to attack of fallen out parts. The present study is to examine fluid flows in reactor internals subjected to hydrodynamic loads. In this context, an integrated model was developed and applied to two kinds of numerical analyses; one is to analyze periodic loading effect caused by pump pulsation and the other is to analyze random loading effect employing different turbulent models. Acoustic pressure distributions and flow velocity as well as pressure and temperature fields were calculated and compared to establish appropriate analysis techniques.
