  • This paper proposes an integrated mobile sink networks management system which can monitor and control various kinds of wireless lan access points, located in many different areas divided by their managing groups, from multi-vendors, and their operations in networks. The proposed system has the center-local interoperability structure cooperating with local-center servers which can perform the same operations as the central servers for wireless lan access points from multi-vendors and wireless lan centric management features. For this purpose, we propose a new way of data design, messaging policy, and hierarchical system structure such that we can achieve stable and consistent management methods for various wireless access points on distributed networks.

Using Classification function to integrate Discriminant Analysis, Logistic Regression and Backpropagation Neural Networks for Interest Rates Forecasting

  • This study suggests integrated neural network models for Interest rate forecasting using change-point detection, classifiers, and classification functions based on structural change. The proposed model is composed of three phases with tee-staged learning. The first phase is to detect successive and appropriate structural changes in interest rare dataset. The second phase is to forecast change-point group with classifiers (discriminant analysis, logistic regression, and backpropagation neural networks) and their. combined classification functions. The fecal phase is to forecast the interest rate with backpropagation neural networks. We propose some classification functions to overcome the problems of two-staged learning that cannot measure the performance of the first learning. Subsequently, we compare the structured models with a neural network model alone and, in addition, determine which of classifiers and classification functions can perform better. This article then examines the predictability of the proposed classification functions for interest rate forecasting using structural change.

  • Requirements for device control networks differ greatly from those of data (business) networks. Consequently, any control network which uses a filedbus protocol is, in general, different from If network protocol TCP/IP.   • The recent explosion in the number of low earth orbit (LEO) satellites launched to space allows to easily anticipate that the number of satellites in orbit will sustain a dramatic increase. As satellite components are integrated and unified with terrestrial cellular networks, they will play a key role in providing coverage and resilience for future cellular networks. We provide a brief overview of typical scenarios and network architectures for cellular-based LEO satellite communication systems. In addition, we outline 3GPP standardization trends in non-terrestrial networks and satellite access based on 5G/5G Advanced systems and analyze future evolution prospects of cellular-based satellite communication systems.

Neutron spectrum unfolding using two architectures of convolutional neural networks

  • We deploy artificial neural networks to unfold neutron spectra from measured energy-integrated quantities. These neutron spectra represent an important parameter allowing to compute the absorbed dose and the kerma to serve radiation protection in addition to nuclear safety. The built architectures are inspired from convolutional neural networks. The first architecture is made up of residual transposed convolution's blocks while the second is a modified version of the U-net architecture. A large and balanced dataset is simulated following "realistic" physical constraints to train the architectures in an efficient way. Results show a high accuracy prediction of neutron spectra ranging from thermal up to fast spectrum. The dataset processing, the attention paid to performances' metrics and the hyper-optimization are behind the architectures' robustness.

  • Major global powers are investing heavily in artificial intelligence (AI) and hyper-connected networks, demonstrating their crucial role in future warfare. To advance and utilize AI in national defense, it is essential to have policy support at the governmental or national level. This includes establishing a research and development infrastructure, creating a common development environment, and fostering AI expertise through education and training programs. To achieve advancements in hyper-connected networks, it is essential to establish a foundation for a robust and resilient infrastructure by comprehensively building integrated satellite, aerial, and ground networks, along with developing 5G & edge computing and low-orbit satellite communication technologies. This multi-faceted approach will ensure the successful integration of AI and hyper-connected networks, strengthening national defense and positioning nations at the forefront of technological advancements in warfare.

교통수요예칙과 가로망설계의 효율화 (Toward the Efficient Integration of Travel Demand Analysis with Transportation Network Design Models)

  • In recent years, significant advances have been made enabling travel demand analysis and network design methods to be used as increasingly realistic evaluation tools. What has been lacking is the integration of travel demand analysis with network design models. This paper reviews some of advanced (integrated) modeling approaches and presents future research directions of integrated modeling system. To design urban transportation networks, it is argued that the travelers' free choice of mode, destination and route should be introduced into transportation network design procedure instead of assuming that trips from a zone to a workplace are fixed or deriving them in a normative procedure to achieve hypothetical system optima.

  • In this study we consider three types of accomodation methods of narrowband/wideband services. The fully integrated accomodation method is sufficient to accomodate the relatively low wideband traffic and the partially integrated method is required to meet the specification of blocking probability as the wideband traffic increases. The segregated accomodation method is required expecilly in case of the high wideband traffic demand.

Forecasting Internet Traffic by Using Seasonal GARCH Models

  • With the rapid growth of internet traffic, accurate and reliable prediction of internet traffic has been a key issue in network management and planning. This paper proposes an autoregressive-generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity (AR-GARCH) error model for forecasting internet traffic and evaluates its performance by comparing it with seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) models in terms of root mean square error (RMSE) criterion. The results indicated that the seasonal AR-GARCH models outperformed the seasonal ARIMA models in terms of forecasting accuracy with respect to the RMSE criterion.
