유도초음파기술을 이용한 배관 감육 평가 (Assessment of Pipe Wall Loss Using Guided Wave Testing)

  • 원자력발전소 탄소강 배관의 유체가속부식은 주요 경년열화 현상이며 발전소의 성능 및 안전성을 저해할 수 있다. 유체가속부식 검사는 보온재 제거 및 설치로 상당한 비용이 수반되므로 최근에 보온재 제거가 필요 없고 원거리 검사가 가능한 유도초음파에 대한 관심이 점점 증가되고 있다. 유체가속부식 검출에 유도초음파 적용이 가능하다면 검사 비용 절감이 예상된다. 본 연구의 목적은 유체가속부식 손상 유무를 확인하고 결함 검출능을 결정하기 위함이다. 본 연구에서는, 실제 유체가속부식 손상 시험편의 엘보우 첫 번째 용접부와 두 번째 용접부의 진폭 감쇄비를 측정하기 위하여 3가지 검사 기법을 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 유체가속부식 손상을 검출하기 위한 최적의 검사 기법과 최소 결함 검출능을 도출하였다.

플로우 전달 특성 기반의 P2P 헤비 트래픽 검출 알고리즘 (An Algorithm to Detect P2P Heavy Traffic based on Flow Transport Characteristics)

  • 최근 분산 컴퓨팅 환경이 확대되고 네트워크 기반의 응용프로그램이 다양하게 개발됨에 따라 네트워크 트래픽이 증가되고 있으며, 트래픽 종류도 P2P(Peer to Peer), 실시간 동영상등과 같이 다양해지고 있다. 네트워크 트래픽 중에서 P2P 트래픽이 지속적으로 증가되면서 많은 대역폭을 차지하고 있기 때문에 웹, 파일 전송 및 실시간 동영상등과 같은 다른 네트워크 응용프로그램의 서비스 품질을 보장하지 못하는 상황이 빈번하게 발생하고 있다. P2P 트래픽으로 인한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 기존에 포트 기반의 P2P 트래픽 검출 기법과 패킷들의 내용을 검사하는 DPI(Deep Packet Inspection) 방식의 검출 기법들이 제시되었으나 최근의 P2P 용용프로그램들이 고정된 포트를 사용하지 않으며, 패킷들의 내용을 암호화하여 전송함으로써 기존의 연구 방법을 P2P 트래픽 검출에 적용하기가 어려운 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 포트 기반의 P2P 트래픽 검출 기법과 DPI 기법의 문제점들을 해결할 수 있는 플로우(flow) 매개 변수의 상관 관계를 이용한 플로우 전달 특성 기반의 P2P Heavy 트래픽 검출 알고리즘을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 알고리즘은 P2P 트래픽 중에서 네트워크 대역폭을 가장 많이 차지하는 컨텐츠 다운로드 P2P 트래픽을 검출하는 것이다. P2P 트래픽은 컨텐츠를 가지고 있는 상대 노드(Peer)들을 검색하는 단계와 검색된 노드들 중에 하나 이상의 노드로부터 컨텐츠를 다운로드하는 단계로 이루어진다. 이러한 P2P 응용프로그램들의 특성을 P2P 플로우 패턴으로 정의하고 이를 기반으로 P2P Heavy 트래픽을 검출하는 알고리즘을 개발하였다.

2차원 표면조도가 있는 난류 평면 Couette-Poiseuille 유동에 대한 직접수치모사 (Turbulent plane Couette-Poiseuille flow over a 2-D rod-roughened wall)

  • Direct numerical simulation of a fully developed turbulent plane Couette-Poiseuille flow with a two-dimensional (2-D) rod-roughened wall is performed to investigate the impacts of the surface roughness. It is shown that the logarithmic region in the mean velocity profile over the rough wall Couette-Poiseuille flow is significantly shortened by the surface roughness compared to that over a turbulent Couette-Poiseuille flow with smooth wall. The Reynolds shear stress over the rough wall Couette-Poiseuille flow is decreased compared to that for a smooth case in the outer layer. These results are attributed to weakened turbulence activity or roll-cell mode over the rough wall Couette-Poiseuille flow near the channel centerline due to suppressed development of u'-structure on the top wall, as documented through spanwise energy spectra of the streamwise velocity fluctuations. Inspection of congregation motion near the bottom wall and time evolution of u'-structure reveal weakened co-supporting cycle for the rough wall case.

원전 배관감육 평가를 위한 새로운 기법의 도입 및 타당성 (Introduction and Feasibility on a New Technology for the Pipe Wall Thinning Evaluation of Nuclear Power Plants)

  • A huge number of carbon steel piping components installed in the secondary system of nuclear power plants are exposed to aging mechanisms such as FAC (Flow-Accelerated Corrosion), Cavitation, Flashing, and LDIE (Liquid Droplet Impingement Erosion). Those aging mechanisms can lead to thinning of the piping components. To manage the wall thinning degradation, most of utilities in the world predict the wall thinning rate based on the computational program such as CHECWORKS, COMSY, and BRT-CICERO, evaluate the UT (Ultrasonic Test) data, and determine next inspection timing, repair or replacement, if needed. There are several evaluation methods, such as band, blanket, and strip methods, commonly used for determining the wear of piping components from single UT inspection data. It has been identified that those single UT evaluation methods not only do not consider the manufacturing features of pipes, but also may exclude the data of the most thinned point when determining the representative wear rate of piping components. This paper describes a newly developed single UT evaluation method, E-Cross method, for solving above problems and introduces application examples for several pipes and elbows. It was identified that the E-Cross method using the length and width of UT data excluded the most thinned points appropriate as the single UT evaluation method for thinned piping components.

원전 탄소강 배관의 액적충돌침식 손상에 대한 B-Scan 검사 및 수치해석적 분석 (A Study on the Thermal Hydraulic Analysis and B-Scan Inspection for LDIE Degradation of Carbon Steel Piping in a Nuclear Plant)

  • Liquid droplet impingement erosion (LDIE) known to be generated in aircraft and turbine blades is recently appeared in nuclear piping. UT thickness measurements with both A-scan and B-scan UT inspection equipments were performed for a component estimated as susceptible to LDIE in feedwater heater vent system. The thickness data measured with B-Scan equipment were compared with those of A-Scan. Thermal hydraulic analysis based on ANSYS FLUENT code was performed to analyze the behavior of liquid droplets inside piping. The wall thinning rate and residual lifetime based on both existing Sanchez-Caldera equation and measuring data were also calculated to identify the applicability of the existing equation to the LDIE management of nuclear piping. Because Sanchez-Caldera equation do not consider the feature of magnetite formed inside piping, droplet size, colliding frequency, the development of new evaluation method urgently needs to manage the pipe wall thinning caused by LDIE.

표면압력이 상호 간섭되는 슬릿을 가진 원주의 후류 유동 특성 (The Flow Characteristics around Circular Cylinder of Pressure Interference with Slits)

  • This study is conducted to investigate aerodynamic forces and wake structures about the pressure interference of a circular cylinder with slits. An experimental investigation of a circular cylinder with slits is carried out in uniform flow in the range of Reynolds number from 8,000 to 32,000 using X-type hot wire. Flow visualization is executed by smoke-wire method to understand the mechanism of these vortex formation process. Inspection in the wake at X/D=5.5 of the cylinder with the slits suggested that a strong vortex-shedding pattern for these cylinders is revealed compare with a circular cylinder without slits. It is found that the rolling up position of shear layer of the cylinder with slits is shorten compare with a circular cylinder without slits.

  • This study is concerned with Finite Element Analysis on welded part of control link fur automobile. For analysis, control link was modeled into two parts, ring and rod. Heating condition, temperature distributions and fatigue fracture strength were analyzed using "HEAT III" and "NDURE" module of NISA II. Metal flow in the process of welding was simulat- ed by $DEFORM^{TM}2D$.The analyzed results were compared with experimental inspection. Quality of welded part was able to be improved by controlling metal flow in the process of welding by increase the friction constant of ring part. Heat transfer analysis and flow simulations were in good agreement wish welding experiments.

  • 최근까지 전자정보산업의 발달로 자동 초음파검사 하드웨어는 갈수록 경량화 되어 가고 있고, 소프트웨어는 다양한 최신 이미지 처리 기법이 적용되어 정확한 결함 위치 및 크기 측정이 가능하도록 연구되어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 원전 배관 자동 검사에 최적화된 시스템을 구성하기 위해 배관자동 초음파 검사 시스템을 제안하고, 시스템 설계를 위해 소프트웨어의 데이터 흐름과 일반적인 구성에 대해서 기술한다.

EVALUATION OF AN ACCIDENT MANAGEMENT STRATEGY OF EMERGENCY WATER INJECTION USING FIRE ENGINES IN A TYPICAL PRESSURIZED WATER REACTOR

  • Following the Fukushima accident, a special safety inspection was conducted in Korea. The inspection results show that Korean nuclear power plants have no imminent risk for expected maximum potential earthquake or coastal flooding. However long- and short-term safety improvements do need to be implemented. One of the measures to increase the mitigation capability during a prolonged station blackout (SBO) accident is installing injection flow paths to provide emergency cooling water of external sources using fire engines to the steam generators or reactor cooling systems. This paper illustrates an evaluation of the effectiveness of external cooling water injection strategies using fire trucks during a potential extended SBO accident in a 1,000 MWe pressurized water reactor. With regard to the effectiveness of external cooling water injection strategies using fire engines, the strategies are judged to be very feasible for a long-term SBO, but are not likely to be effective for a short-term SBO.

산업부산물을 활용한 초고강도콘크리트의 제조 (Manufacture of Ultra High Strength Concrete using Industrial by-products)

  • This paper presents the fundamental study on rational manufacture of Ultra High Strength(VHS) concrete using industrial by-products as like silica fume, slag and fly ash. In this study, we had tested various mixing cases to manufacture the UHS concrete(target compressive strength : over $1,000kgf/cm^2$) which is easily workable (target slump flow : $60{\pm}10cm$). The main variables are studied: 1) to find the optimum replacement ratio of mineral admixture. 2) to find a rational water-binder ratio and a proper binder content. 3) to find the method for reduction of slump loss. From the test results, it is concluded that the rational mix design can be made by using 40% slag, 10% silica fume. We found that compressive strength of UHS concrete increases according to decreasing W/B ratio but in W/B ratio 18~20%, the difference is vague and the compressive strength does not necessarily increase according to increasing binder content over 700kg.
