이산 웨이블릿 변환과 신경회로망을 이용한 FRTU의 고장판단 능력 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study for the Improvement of the Fault Decision Capability of FRTU using Discrete Wavelet Transform and Neural Network)

  • This paper proposes the improved fault decision algorithm using DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform) and ANNs for the FRTU(Feeder Remote Terminal Unit) on the feeder in the power distribution system. Generally, the FRTU has the fault decision scheme detecting the phase fault, the ground fault. Especially FRTU has the function for 2000ms. This function doesn't operate FI(Fault Indicator) for the Inrush current generated in switching time. But it has a defect making it impossible for the FI to be operated from the real fault current in inrush restraint time. In such a case, we can not find the fault zone from FI information. Accordingly, the improved fault recognition algorithm is needed to solve this problem. The DWT analysis gives the frequency and time-scale information. The neural network system as a fault recognition was trained to distinguish the inrush current from the fault status by a gradient descent method. In this paper, fault recognition algorithm is improved by using voltage monitoring system, DWT and neural network. All of the data were measured in actual 22.9kV power distribution system.

A Cost-Effective, Single-Phase Line-Interactive UPS System that Eliminates Inrush Current Phenomenon for Transformer-Coupled Loads

  • Sudden voltage drops and outages frequently disturb the operation of sensitive loads for domestic, commercial, and industrial use. In some cases, these events may even impair the functioning of relevant equipment. To maintain power under such conditions, a UPS system is usually installed. Once a disturbance happens at the grid side, the line-interactive UPS system takes over the load to prevent an interruption. But, due to magnetic saturation of the transformer, a significant inrush current may occur for the transformer-coupled loads during this transition. The generation of such transient currents may in turn decrease the line voltage and activates over-current protecting devices of the system. In this work, a cost-effective, line-interactive UPS system is proposed that eliminates the inrush current phenomenon associated with transformer-coupled loads. The strategy was implemented by connecting a standard current-regulated voltage source inverter (CRVSI) to the secondary winding of the load transformer. During any transient condition at the grid side, the load current is monitored and regulated to achieve either seamless compensation of the load current or complete transferal of load from grid to the inverter. Experimental results were obtained for a prototype under all possible operating conditions so as to validate the performance of the proposed topology.

유도형 풍력발전기 계통 연계시 돌입전류 저감을 위한 소프트 스타터 점호각 제어 (Firing Angle Control of Soft Starter for Reduction of Inrush Current during Grid Connection of Induction-type Wind Generator)

  • 유도기의 고정자를 직접 전력 계통에 연결하는 유도형 풍력발전기의 계통 연계시 과도 상태 돌입 전류의 크기를 줄이기 위한 새로운 소프트 스타터(Soft Starter) 제어 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 현재 국내에 가장 많이 설치되어 있는 정속 운전형 풍력발전시스템의 기본 구성을 살펴보고 특히 소프트 스타터의 계통 연계 알고리즘에 따라 발전 개시 순간 과도 상태 전류의 크기가 크게 달라짐을 확인하였다. 이를 위해 600kw급 유도 발전기를 포함한 정속형 풍력발전 시스템의 시뮬레이션 모델을 개발하였고 실험실 환경에서 제안된 알고리즘을 시험하기 위한 3.7kW급 모의실험장치를 제작하였으며, 소프트 스타터의 제어 알고리즘 개선에 의해 돌입전류의 크기가 약 20$\%$ 감소됨을 확인하였다.

  • With the expansion in the use of DC power systems and increased need for system maintenance, the development of measurement devices for maintenance requires high stability. Of the different kinds of DC current measurement devices, the single-shot measurement device causes the input signal of the current measuring unit to initially generate a high inrush current. The high inrush current flows into the signal processor of the meter, shortening the life of the internal fuses and causing failure. Therefore, in this study, the I2t value for increasing the durability of the fuse is designed using the available wire diameter. Operating characteristics for 210~400% over-current of the rated current, which is relatively low over-current, are realized by the plating of low melting tin metal. As a result, a method of designing a fuse element for a DC power supply, which improves the safety of the DC current measurement device by blocking the failure caused by the inrush current, is presented.

Risk assessment of water inrush in karst tunnels based on a modified grey evaluation model: Sample as Shangjiawan Tunnel

  • A modified grey clustering method is presented to systematically evaluate the risk of water inrush in karst tunnels. Based on the center triangle whitenization weight function and upper and lower limit measure whitenization weight function, the modified grey evaluation model doesn't have the crossing properties of grey cluster and meets the standard well. By adsorbing and integrating the previous research results, seven influence factors are selected as evaluation indexes. A couple of evaluation indexes are modified and quantitatively graded according to four risk grades through expert evaluation method. The weights of evaluation indexes are rationally distributed by the comprehensive assignment method. It is integrated by the subjective factors and the objective factors. Subjective weight is given based on analytical hierarchy process, and objective weight obtained from simple dependent function. The modified grey evaluation model is validated by Jigongling Tunnel. Finally, the water inrush risk of Shangjiawan Tunnel is evaluated by using the established model, and the evaluation result obtained from the proposed method is agrees well with practical situation. This risk assessment methodology provides a powerful tool with which planners and engineers can systematically assess the risk of water inrush in karst tunnels.

Modelling the coupled fracture propagation and fluid flow in jointed rock mass using FRACOD

  • Water inrush is a major hazard for mining and excavation in deep coal seams or rock masses. It can be attributed to the coalescence of rock fractures in rock mass due to the interaction of fractures, hydraulic flow and stress field. One of the key technical challenges is to understand the course and mechanism of fluid flows in rock joint networks and fracture propagation and hence to take measures to prevent the formation of water inrush channels caused by possible rock fracturing. Several case observations of fluid flowing in rock joint networks and coupled fracture propagation in underground coal roadways are shown in this paper. A number of numerical simulations were done using the recently developed flow coupling function in FRACOD which simulates explicitly the fracture initiation and propagation process. The study has demonstrated that the shortest path between the inlet and outlet in joint networks will become a larger fluid flow channel and those fractures nearest to the water source and the working faces become the main channel of water inrush. The fractures deeper into the rib are mostly caused by shearing, and slipping fractures coalesce with the joint, which connects the water source and eventually forming a water inrush channel.

  • 유도성 부하 네트워크의 기동에 의한 순간전압강하 및 기동전류 감쇄를 위해, TRIAC PWM 모듈과 순차기동시스템으로 구성된 제어시스템을 제안한다. 에어컨 컴프레서와 같은 대용량 유도성 부하의 기동시 발생하는 높은 순간전압강하와 기동전류를 최소화하기 위해 TRIAC PWM 모듈이 개발되었다. 대용량 유도성 부하 네트워크에서 부하의 동시 기동을 방지하는 순차기동시스템을 설계, 제작하였다. 제안된 제어시스템의 시험결과에 따르면, 본 시스템을 적용한 대용량 유도성 부하의 기동에 따른 배전계통의 순간전압강하 및 기동전류가 관련 국제규격을 효과적으로 만족시킬 수 있으며, 유도성 부하들의 동시 기동 문제 또한 효과적으로 해결할 수 있다. 제안된 시스템을 이용하면 최대전력소모량에 근거하여 부과되는 전력비용을 절감하거나, 유도성 부하 네트워크가 연결된 동일 배전 계통의 전력품질 안정화에도 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

  • This paper suggests a decision scheme for optimal insertion resistance in an Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (SFCL) application to reduce the transformer inrush current. This scheme and the SFCL model are implemented using Electromagnetic Transient Program (EMTP). We determine the optimal SFCL resistance by EMTP simulation, and this value is applied to model the SFCL by EMTP. The simulation results show the validity and effectiveness of the suggested scheme and the ability of a SFCL to reduce the inrush current.

  • 기동 돌입전류가 없는 역률개선을 위한 강압형과 승합형이 결합된 형태의 새로운 푸시풀 퀀텀 직렬공진형 정류기를 제안한다. 제안된 정류기의 동적모델링을 개발하여 기동 돌입전류를 제거하는 제어기법을 제안하였으며 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 제안된 정류기와 제어기법의 유용성을 보였다. 제안된 방식으로 고역률과 넓은 출력진압 범위를 얻었다.

  • This paper presents research about improvement of fault detection algorithm in FRTU on the feeder of distribution system. FRTU(Feeder Remote Terminal Unit) is applied to fault detection schemes for phase fault, ground fault, and cold load pickup and Inrush restraint functions distinguish the fault current and the normal load current. FRTU is occurred FI(Fault Indicator) when current is over pick-up value also inrush current is occurred FRTU indicate FI. Discrete wavelet transform(DWT) analysis gives the frequency and time-scale information. The neural network system as a fault detector was trained to discriminate inrush current from the fault status by a gradient descent method. In this paper, fault detection is improved using voltage monitoring system with DWT and neural network. These data were measured in actual 22.9kV distribution system.
