It is well-blown that the convergence rate gets worse when an input signal to an adaptive filter is correlated. In this paper we propose a new adaptive filtering algorithm that makes the convergence rate much improved even for highly correlated input signals. By introducing an orthogonal constraint between successive input signal vectors we overcome the slow convergence problem of the LMS algorithm with the correlated input signal. Simulation results show that the proposed algerian yields fast convergence speed and excellent tracking capability under both time-invariant and time-varying environments, while keeping both computation and implementation simple.

A transformer feedback low-noise amplifier (LNA) is implemented in a standard $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process, which exploits drain-to-gate transformer feedback technique for wideband input matching and operates across entire 3~5 GHz ultra-wideband (UWB). The proposed LNA achieves power gain above 9.5 dB, input return loss less than 15.0 dB, and noise figure below 4.8 dB, while consuming 8.1 mW from a 1.8-V supply. To the authors' knowledge, drain-to-gate transformer feedback for wideband input matching cascode LNA is the first adopted technique for UWB application.
In this paper, we propose an algorithm to automatically detect gait's joints. The proposed method classifies gait's types into front gait and flank gait so as to automatically detect gait's joints. And then according to classified types, the proposed applies joint extracting algorithm to input images. Firstly, we split input images into foreground image using difference images of Hue and gray-scale image of input and background one and extract gait's object. The proposed method classifies gaits into front gait and flank gait using ratio of Face's width to torso's width. Then classified gait's type, joints are detected 10 at front gait and detected 7~8 at flank gait. The proposed method is applied to the camera's input and the result shows that the proposed method automatically extracts joints.
This paper considers a six sigma project for improving the TIP life time in a spot welding process. The project follows a disciplined process of five phases: define, measure, analyze, improve, and control. A process map is used to identify process input and output variables. Nine key process input variables are selected by using C&E matrix and FMEA, and finally four vital few input variables are selected from analyze phase. The optimum process conditions of the vital few input variables are jointly obtained by maximizing TIP life time using DOE and alternative selection method.

In this paper we analyze convergence constraints and time constant of IT-LMS algorithm and derive a method of making it's time constant independent of signal power by using input variance estimation. The method for estimating the input variance is to use a single-pole low-pass filter(LPF) with common smoothing parameter value, θ. The estimator is with narrow bandwidth for large θ but with wide bandwidth for small θ. This small θ gives long term average estimation(low frequency) of the fluctuating input variance well as short term variations (high frequency) of the input power. In our simulations of multipath communication channel equalization environments, the method with large θ has shown not as much improved convergence speed as the speed of the original IT-LMS algorithm. The proposed method with small θ=0.01 reach its minimum MSE in 100 samples whereas the IT-LMS converges in 200 samples. This shows the proposed, tap-power normalized IT-LMS algorithm can be applied more effectively to digital wireless communication systems.

This paper describes a method for the design of a self-tuning controller of single-input/single-output systems with system noises and obsrrvation noises. The method uses state-space techniques to assign the closed-loop system poles to desired locations, but the control law is made up of process input and output measurement values, so that state estimation is unnecessary. Also the difficulties of tracking of reference inputs in state.space pole-placing control are tackled by including the reference input in the cost function proposed by Beger.
Joint transform correlator (JTC) is a well known tool for color pattern recognition for a color image. Color images have red, green and blue components, thus in conventional JTC, three input channels of these color components are necessary for color pattern recognition. This paper proposes a new technique of color pattern recognition by decomposing the color image into three color components and recombining those components into a single gray image in the input plane. This new technique needs single input channel and single output CCD camera, thus a simple JTC can be used. We present various kinds of simulated results to show that our newly proposed technique can accurately recognize and discriminate color differences.

In the linear combination type stereophonic echo canceller, it is known not to converge the coefficient vector of the adaptive filter to a correct echo path. In this report, we analyze the convergence value of the filter coefficient vector of the stereo echo canceling algorithm using input signals of all channels in relation to this problem. In this analysis, one of the two inputs to the un-known system and adaptive one are assumed to be a delayed and attenuated version of the other signal as a model of the input signal with a strong cross-correlation. As a result, it is shown for the coefficient vectors not to converge to echo paths, and nor to converge to the value which depends on the time delay and the attenuation of the input signal. We show that the computer simulation result are corresponding to our analytical results.

Input filter for satellite communication transponder is the interface between the antenna and the receiver. It is used to provide the selection of the uplink signals with minimum insertion loss and to prevent downlink signals form reaching the LNA. This paper is intended to provide a description of the input filter for KOREASAT communication transponder. Included are description for the electrical and mechanical design and the requirments of environmental test. In expecting the electrical performine the optimum electrical configuration ot meet all requirements are performed. Mechanical requirements are charactersed by several constraints for weight, size of the filter and its type of input output interface. The standardized environmental tests are performed to confirm satisfactory performance of the filter with respect to the requirements of vibration and thermal vacuum shocks.
Shell finite elements are widely used for the analysis of thin section objects such as sheet metal parts, automobile bodies and et al. due to their computational efficiency. Since many of input data for finite element analysis are given as solid models or triangulated surface models, one should extract midsurface information from these input data initially and then construct shell meshes on the extracted midsurfaces. In this paper, a method of generating shell elements on midsurfaces directly from input models have been proposed. In order to construct shell meshes, the input models should be triangulated on surfaces first, and then tetrahedral elements are generated by using an advancing front method, and finally mid shell surfaces are obtained from tetrahedral meshes. Some examples are given to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.
