  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to suggest new directions for public health programs in rural and remote areas. Method: For this purpose, a literature review was done including articles, research reports, and master theses and doctoral dissertations. Results: Public health programs in rural remote areas were found to be very insufficient in terms of professional personnel and program diversity. Especially, there is a lack of adequate manpower and infra-structure in the public health sub-centers at the township and sub county level. Although community health practitioners at the village level are providing public health service beyond medical care, their coverage rate is very low. Conclusion: The results suggest a need to strengthen the function of public health sub-centers to provide comprehensive public health service based on the life-cycle approach. For this new change, legal and political support must be developed.

  • This paper shows the entire future market volume of the HTS power industry, one of main smart grid equipment, in the case of the final market penetration ratio reaching 100% in the domestic market (South Korea). In this paper, the market penetration ratio is determined using the judgment method, with the market penetration S-curve induced using the Delphi method and the Product Life Cycle from 2011 (supposed launching year, not realistic physical year), to 2050 (expected final target year). This paper analyzes the HTS market penetration ratio of each stage, apparent innovation, early adapters, and the early/late majority and laggard stage, using the S-curve, thus calculating the total future market volume of HTS equipment in the positive sense. Finally, this paper estimates the quantitative analysis results for the HTS4-items (cable, FCL, transformer, rotation machine) of each year within the domestic market.

  • Firms seldom survive and prosper solely through their individual efforts. Each firm's performance depends upon the activities and performance of others and hence upon the nature and quality of the direct and indirect relationships a firm develops with its counterparts. Textile companies have tried to improve their organizational competitiveness in order to survive in the digital age global market. The challenge in textile supply chain management is the development of collaboration network which accommodates diverse concerns of various participants while explicitly recognizing interdependencies and promoting effective relationship management. Major contents of the study are as follows. First, ideal collaboration network model from the supply chain of the textile industry is suggested. Second, utilizing the collaboration model, A framework for textile e-marketplaces supply chians is designed to improve customer services and delivery time, to promote information sharing, and shorten product life cycle time. The framework suggested is expected to promote corporate innovation and information sharing, generate infrastructure which provides appropriate communication and operations capabilities for the textile companies.

  • Student independent project activity is beneficial for enhancing many kinds of abilities, e.g., team working, collaboration, communication, presentation, creativity, leadership, and so on. More than ten project teams actively perform every year in the Center for Innovation and Creativity Development of The University of Tokushima. The project management workshop was planned in order to make project activity successful. In this workshop, the team members studied the importance of holding a common objective among them and of making a clear plan for achieving the activity. They practiced brainstorming method and KJ method and experienced a PDCA cycle. The team activity will be fruitful on the basis of the project management method.

  • We consider a problem of intelligent Integration Information system for research ship, and propose a design as one effective solution of the problem. The goals of the proposed design and system are as follows: management of engine, management of ship, researcher's work, education, training, manage schedule of the project, and thus to manage the whole life cycle of the research ship project. These goals are basically to facilitate and implement innovation- and enhancement-related activities which intelligent Integration Information system is fundamentally pursuing.

  • In recent years, with the continuous innovation and upgrading of engine software, the real-time rendering technology in film and television has been continuously improved, and the virtual production technology has also developed rapidly. This paper introduces the green screen often used in traditional film production and a virtual production technology based on light-emitting-diode background wall that was proposed and implemented last year. We analyzed the two production methods of virtual production and compared their characteristics. Based on these results, we can better understand the differences and respective advantages of the two production methods. And we also can according to the production budget, production cycle and the creative and technical capabilities of the team make better choices during the production process. We believe virtual production technology will be production in the future to provide a more solid technical guarantee for the development of the film industry, and this work will pave the way for further research on virtual production technology.

  • Since mid and late 2000s, the smartphones has been widely diffused and Korea ranked first in global smartphone market in 2011 thanks to its rapid adoption of Android operating system, technology capability accumulated in featurephone development, vertical integration on smartphone production and premium positioning. However, Korea fell behind because of the rise of another latecomer, China, in four years (2015) after it recorded the top position globally. How did the leadership change occurred in the smartphone industry so rapidly? In order to answer the question, we investigated three favorable windows of opportunity for the rise of China, which are technological, demand, and institutional, and the strategic responses of Chinese firms as well as the rigidity and complacency with the past success of Korean firms. Our findings contribute to the extension of 'catch-up cycle' theory as well as provide in-depth insights for strategies and policies settings to overcome the recent rise of China in information and communication technology sector for Korea.

  • Recent reports about economic structure and changes show that global economy changes to rely on service rather than manufacturing. This phenomenon can be explained in two ways: the growth of service industry itself and the increasing reliance on service by other industry areas. The importance of service is indicated by the fact that the contribution of research and development, marketing, and finance to the revenue generation of companies is getting greater than that of manufacturing. This change in the economic structure calls for researchers' attention on the importance of service and the service-based economy. In the service-based economy, firms are considered value proposition providers and consumers actual value creators so that the concept of co-value creation becomes a key thesis to study. However, there are a variety of definitions of service and diversified measurements of service anchored in the supplier-oriented understanding of service yet. This lack of understanding of the service and the economic paradigm change causes a lot of problems in the areas of service productivity, service quality, and service innovation. Even though a new movement called service science started and rigorously pursues the way of enhancing the understanding of the economic change and service productivity, there is no framework that provides a unified view about the new role of service, service productivity, service quality, and thus service innovation. This study proposes a unified framework to provide a structured view about service provision and to facilitate the research on service. The framework is built on the concepts from previous studies about service marketing and service science: service life cycle and service networks including value activity network, resource integrator network, and capability network. We hope this study can be used as the basis for future studies on service science.

  • In the civil market, companies launch new products when the acquired innovations are ready, but in defense, customer requests the innovation applied weapon systems. The technology adoption cycle model takes unusual form of market like inverse chasm takes technology inversely. This thesis describes an inverse chasm from the perspective of technology adoption cycle, equipped product model, and technical progress S-curve. As a way to overcome the inverse chasm, considering factors like a self-investment demo model, customer needs, and the temporary chasm expanding phenomenon are derived. And order-effective relationship analysis and chasm marketing strategy are suggested. Especially securing the core technologies and possibility for equipped product by developing self-investment demo model are identified as a good marketing strategy of chasm. This analysis and strategy suggest the policy implications for preemptive advantage of market positioning in the procurement process of defense, discontinuous innovation technology applied on.
