  • As a result of research on the establishment of an infrastructure to revitalize the region of Inje gun in order to enjoy the high quality of the Inje gun residents in Gangwon do, the analysis of the target sites that are easily accessible and easy to use by the residents of Inje gun resulted in a type of park with a quality of life. It is analyzed that the urban art park is the most suitable for enhancing the city cultural experience and relaxation, and promoting emotional life. There are many ecological parks, theme parks, and experience parks in each country, but it is desirable to plan them in the form of city parks to differentiate themselves by capturing the characteristics of Inje gun.

The policy of Inje-Gun government are jump into the lucrative tourism, the strong agriculture, the comfortable welfare and the attentive administration. But the present status is very poor. Economic self-supporting index is only 19%. The policy will achieve by increase of economic self-supporting. I am going to propose some item for region activation in Inje-Gun. The items are medicinal garden construction, green tourism, local festival, residents increase and so on.

  • This survey was performed to investigate and compare egg positive rates (EPRs) of Enterobius vermicularis among preschool children in 3 Korean localities (Chuncheon-si, Inje-gun, and Paju-si) in 2008. A total of 7,048 preschool children were examined. Overall, the total EPR was 4.0%; the EPR was the highest in Chuncheon-si (5.6%), followed by Inje-gun (4.5%) and Paju-si (3.4%). The EPR of boys (4.9%) was higher than that of girls (3.1%). The EPR significantly increased with age, with the highest observed in 5~7-year-olds. These findings demonstrate that E. vermicularis infection is widely prevalent among preschool children in Chuncheon-si, Inje-gun, and Paju-si, Republic of Korea.

  • Bisphosphonates are widely used to treat osteoporosis, hypercalcemia of malignant tumor. Despite their clinical benefit, bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) is a newly documented complication to patients receiving these drugs and first recognized by Marx in 2003. Thus, consideration of prevention and needs regarding unequivocal treatment regimen have emerged. Recently, several authors emphasized reports on appropriate clinical availability of surgical approach. It serves to concern about guideline for surgical and conservative treatment modalities. So, it is the purpose of this paper to review the current literatures about treatment regimens of BRONJ.

  • Natural disasters occurred in Inje and Pyeongchang in 2006 show that unusual changes of weather, which Korean Peninsula has not experienced before, are becoming quite common phenomenon nowadays. In future we have to proceed in the direction of preventing such disasters so as to minimize the damage, by analyzing character and cause of various disasters whenever necessary, performing modeling in simulated real world, and applying the results in disaster prevention policy next year. Applying GIS in this process, the best information for decision-making can be offered. This study has also progressed proceeding from such point of view. The results of this study show that local concentrated heavy rain, caused by the primary topographical factor in the Sulak mountain region, was the main cause of flood disaster occurred in Inje-Gun area in July of 2006. Local concentrated heavy rain is greatly affected by topography. Namely, if there is a mountainous region behind, the area opposite to the direction of rain clouds motion will have high possibility of local concentrated heavy rain.

  • Korea has been continuously affected by landslides, as 70% of the land is covered by mountains and most of annual rainfall concentrates between June and September. Recently, abrupt climate change affects the increase of landslide occurrence. Gangwon region is especially suffered by landslide damages, because the most of the part is mountainous, steep, and having shallow soil. In this study, a landslide risk assessment model was developed by applying logistic regression to the various data of Duksan-ri, Inje-eup, Inje-gun, Gangwon-do, which has suffered massive landslide triggered by heavy rain in July 2006. The information collected from field investigation and aerial photos right after the landslide of study area were stored in GIS DB for analysis. Slope gradient entered in two ways-as categorical variable and as linear variable. Error matrix for each case was made, and developed model showed the classification accuracy of 81.4% and 81.9%, respectively.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the change of statistical characteristics of typhoons affecting the Korean Peninsula. For this purpose, we analyzed the occurrence frequency of typhoon for 50 years (1954-2003) and change of air temperature and sea surface temperature near the Korean Peninsula in the same period. We classified typhoon tracks affecting the Korean Peninsula, and analyzed their trends and the amount of damage by typhoon. While the annual occurrence frequency of typhoon in the western North Pacific gradually decreased, its frequency affecting the Korean Peninsula increased. In addition, the occurrence location migrated northward. This coincides with the increase in air temperature and sea surface temperature around the Korean Peninsula. Typhoon tracks affecting the Korean Peninsula were classified into 7 types. Among them, the occurrence frequency of type 6 and 7 has increased. Although the occurrence frequency is low in type 2, the amount of damage by typhoon and occurrence frequency are increasing recently.

  • Radiation therapy for malignancy of head and neck leads to secondary effects, such as mucositis, xerostomia, dental caries and osteoradionecrosis. Osteoradionecrosis is a delayed complication which causes chronic pain, infection and constant deformity after necrosis. It occurs spontaneously or after primary oncologic surgery, dental extraction or by trauma of prosthesis. To reduce the incidence of osteoradionecrosis, appropriate antibiotic usage, atraumic procedure, tension-free primary suture and hyperbaric oxygen therapy are essential. This case is about a 74 years old woman who was treated for osteoradionecrosis after extraction of right lower molar at year 2006. She had received radiation therapy for angiosarcoma on tongue at year 2004. At year 2008 the patient came to our hospital for extraction of the opposite premolar but despite careful treatment, osteoradionecrosis occurred again. She was successfully treated by surgical procedure so we report this case.
