큰 초기 연소면적을 가지는 고체 모타의 침식 연소 및 연소 불안정 (Erosive burning and combustion instability of the solid rocket motor with large initial burning surface area)

  • 초기 추력을 증가시키기 위하여 넓은 초기 연소 면적을 가지는 고체 로켓 모타를 설계하고 지상연소 시험을 수행하였다. 그 결과 연소 거리에 따른 연소 면적 변화를 고려한 내탄도 성능 예측에 비하여 초기 압력과 추력이 낮게 측정되었다. 연소실 내부 유속과 연소 거리에 따른 연소 속도 변화를 검토한 결과 압력에 의하여 결정되는 연소 속도 대비 연소 속도가 감소하는 negative erosive burning이 발생함을 확인하였다. 또한 8개의 대칭형 fin 형상을 적용하여 radial mode의 연소 불안정이 발생함을 확인하였으며 fin의 배치를 변경하여 대칭성을 제거함에 따라 연소 불안정이 억제되었음을 확인하였다.

A Civilian Reporting Service to Guide Converging Resources for Search and Rescue in Disaster Response

  • During disaster response, prioritization of limited resources is one of the most important but challenging tasks. At the same time, it is imperative to timely provide to the rescuers with the adequate heavy equipment to facilitate lifesaving operations. However, supply of high demand equipment is usually insufficient during the initial phase of disaster response, challenging lifesaving operations. At the same time, resources outside of the disaster affected zone converge into the area to assist the response efforts, which is the effect of convergence that often made resource coordination challenging in large scale disasters. Meanwhile, the initial condition of the disaster is usually best known by civilians already at the area before and during impact of the disaster. The knowledge of the civilians is not always received and considered by the responding organizations. With the help of these civilians, critical information such as victim location, infrastructure damage, and risk condition could be better know before any response actions are taken. To efficiently collect information and utilize the converging resources, this paper proposes a geospatial information repository for initial condition reporting and update to guide search and rescue operations and deployment of equipment with safety considerations for the rescuers in large scale disaster response scenarios.

Primer Bonding agent, 복합레진 내의 볼소의 법랑질에 대한 항우식 작용 (THE ANTICARIOGENIC EFFECT OF F IN PRIMER, BONDING AGENT AND COMPOSITE RESIN IN THE CAVOSURFACE ENAMEDL AREA)

  • This study was designed to evaluate the anti cariogenic effect of F in primers, bonding agents, composite resins or glass ionomer cements in enamel. Twenty-five extracted teeth were selected and a cavity was prepared on either the buccal or the lingual surface of each tooth. After pumicing and etching, the samples were divided into 5 groups. In group A, the samples were primed, bonded and filled with ART bond and Brilliant Enamel (Coltene, Switzerland). Group B composed of Optibond and Herculited XRV (Kerr, USA), group C composed of Syntac and Tetric(Vivadent, Lichtenstein), and group D composed of Scotch-bond Multipurpose and Z 100 (3M, YSA). In group E, the samples were filled with glass ionomer cement (Fuji II LC, Japan), All surfaces except the 2mm beyond the cavosurface margin of the sample were protected, and samples were then put into an acid buffer for 3 days to develop the initial caries. The samples were then sectioned through the filling body into thin wafers and then examined with a polarizing microscope under water imbibition. The fluoride in primer, bonding agent, or composite filling material did not prevent the initial caries in the enamel area adjacent to the filling body whereas the fluoride in the glass ionomer did prevent the initial stage caries.

초기 면내하중을 받는 복합적층판의 저속충격거동 및 손상해석 (Low-Velocity Impact Response and Damage Analysis of Composite Laminates Under Initial In-plane Loading)

  • 본 논문에서는 면내하중을 받는 복합적층판의 저속충격거동과 손상을 해석하였다. 초기부터 존재하는 면내변형률을 고려하여 판의 변위장을 새롭게 가정하고, 이 가정된 변위장에 따른 적층판의 구조거동에 대한 유한요소방정식을 유도하였으며, 유한요소해석 프로그램을 코딩하였다. 유한요소해석을 수행하여 참고문헌의 수치해석 결과와 비교하였으며, 충격에너지는 동일하나 충격체의 질량과 속도가 다른 조건에 대해서도 해석하여 초기 면내하중의 영향을 분석하였다. 바닥으로부터 첫 번째 층간면에서의 잠재적인 층간분리 파손영역을 추정하여 초기 인내하중 및 충격조건에 따른 크기의 변화를 고찰하였다.

연직배수재에 의한 토양오염물질 추출에 지반의 투수계수가 미치는 영향분석 (Analysis on Effects of Permeability in Contaminated Area on Extraction of Contaminants from Soil Using Vertical Drains)

  • The permeability of contaminated soil and elapsed time are important considering factors to in-situ soil remadiation. Gabr et. al. (1996) derived the solution equation of contaminant concentration ratio as initial one (C/$C_0$) with time and spatial changes in contaminated area which embedded with vertical drains. The contaminant concentration ratio (C/$C_0$) is analyzed with time and spatial changes in three different permeability areas which are $k=l.0{\times}10^{-5,}$ $l.0{\times}l0^{-6,}$ $l.0{\times}l0^{-7}\;_{m/s}$ by using the Gabr's equation. Results from numerical analysis indicate that the ratio (C/$C_0$) decreases as the elapsed time increases in every point, however, remediation efficiency decreases as the analyzing point is far from injection well to extraction one and is deeper from top level of contaminated area. And also it decreases as the permeability of contaminated area decreases. Especially, the lower permeability of contaminated area effects directly on the soil remediation, in this research, under condition which the permeability of contaminated area is $l.0{\times}l0^{-7}\;_{m/s}$, the maximum time needed to attain 90% clean up level ($t_{90}$) is 65,690 hours(7.5 years), it takes so much time to clean the low permeability contaminated soil.

Influence of hydrogen concentration on burst parameters of Zircaloy-4 cladding tube under simulated loss-of-coolant accident

  • Single-tube burst tests on hydrogenated Zircaloy-4 nuclear fuel cladding under simulated loss-of-coolant accident are conducted to evaluate the impact of hydrogen on burst parameters. The heating rate and initial pressure are varied from 5 K/s to 150 K/s and 5 bar-80 bar, respectively. The hydrogen concentration in the cladding is in the range of 0-2000 wppm. Burst stress is lower for hydrogenated cladding in α-phase. A significant loss of ductility is observed in α-phase and lower α + β-phase for hydrogenated cladding. However, the burst strain is higher for hydrogenated cladding in β-phase. There is a sigmoidal dependency of rupture area with initial stress and rupture area is larger for hydrogenated cladding. A novel burst stress correlation for hydrogenated Zircaloy-4 cladding has been proposed.

  • The paper deals with the damage assessment of the concrete beam using static displacements and the flexural stiffness reduction of the beam was evaluated. Simply supported concrete beams were loaded at the mid-span, and the applied load level ranged $20\%,\;40\%,\;80\%$ of the flexural strength of the beam. When the displacements from the tests were increased more than $10\%$ of the initial values, flexural cracks occured. Judging from the observed cracks, damaged area of the beams were assumed and the stiffness reduction using the smeared-cracking concept was estimated to minimize the error between the test results and analytical results. Four stages of the behavior of a RC beam, which are uncracked, initial cracking, stabilized cracking and post-yielding, can be considered to assess the damage of RC beams. Main parameters for the assessment were cracking area and the stiffness reduction ratio. In each stage, damaged elements and their stiffness reduction were estimated to minimized the error.

정적제빙형인 관외 제빙에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Ice-on-coil as a Static Ice Making Type)

  • This study was experimentally investigated to understand the ice making characteristics of ice on a coil type ice maker. The experiment was carried out under the following conditions which are the brine temperatures of $-10[^{\circ}C],\;-8[^{\circ}C],\;-6[^{\circ}C]$, brine flow velocities of 1.0[m/s], 1.4[m/s], 1.8[m/s] and initial water temperatures of $6[^{\circ}C],\;9[^{\circ}C],\;12[^{\circ}C]$, ect. The acquired conclusions shows: 1) Ice making amount is increased with decreasing in the temperature of brine. 2) Total ice making amount shows higher value in larger size coil. However, the ice making amount per heat transfer area is increased in smaller one. 3) The ice making amount is increased with decreasing in the initial water temperature. 4) It is cleared that the overturn of natural convection existed in this experimental result.

  • Techniques measuring Maxwell displacement current (MDC) and LB films surface measuring technique have been applied to the study of monolayers of polyamic acid containing azobenzene. MDCs was generated from monolayers on the water surface by monolayer compression and expansion. It was generated when the area per molecule was about $103{\AA}^2\;and\;78{\AA}^2$ just before the initial rise of the surface pressure during the 1st and 2nd mixed monolayer compressions cycle, respectively. It was the maximum of MDCs appeared at the molecular area just before the initial rise of surface pressure in compression cycles, and we have found that the increase of aggregations causes the noticeable increase of the surface roughness.

자동차 공기스프링의 특성에 대한 실험적 고찰 (An Experimental Investigation on the Characteristics of An Automotive Air Spring)

  • The analysis of an air spring characteristics is necessary to design and control automotive air suspension system properly. A mathematical model of an air spring was derived in light of energy conservation first. Then static and dynamic experiments of the air spring have been fulfilled. The static stiffness with various initial pressures and effective areas were obtained from the static experimental results. Theoretical static stiffness obtained by using the mathematical model and effective area data is in close accordance with the experimental estimation. The dynamic experimental results show that the hysteresis in displacement-force cycle decreases when the frequency of the harmonic displacement excitation signal increases, but it does not change too much as the frequency is higher than 1Hz. And the dynamic stiffness goes up with increasing of the initial pressure and the excitation frequency.
