  • In recent years, more data is being generated for the activation of the SNS, the spread of Smartphones and the development of IT technology. Therefore, it is to collect large amounts of data, analyze and ensure meaningful information has become important. The use of these data are formed on the global trend. Big data so-called, has attracted attention as a source of new business. Big Data can then give us the opportunity to be able to create a new customer and diversify the business. So, many companies have investment and effort for big data utilization. However, technology, infrastructure, human resources is different for each of the companies. Therefore, it is necessary to diagnose the level of big data utilization companies. In this study, through a literature review of existing, we derived the success factors for the big data utilization. And developed a diagnostic indicator that allows success factors derived, can be used to determine levels of big data utilization of the company. In addition, as a development of diagnostic indicators, were carried out case studies to diagnose company. Through this study, it will be an opportunity to be able to be reflected in the strategy of big data utilization company.

  • The purpose of this study was to substantially survey the satisfaction of resident companies in Incheon Free Economic Zone to improve the investment environment of Incheon Free Economic Zone to attract more resident companies. This study implies that additional industrial lots should be secured and the restrictions against small/medium companies should be alleviated so they can grow into strong companies considering that the resident companies in Incheon Free Economic Zone are highly satisfied with their business in Incheon Free Economic Zone. As resident companies' satisfaction with administrative support, recruitment, and industrial infrastructure is low, Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority should understand and improve the specific complaints of resident companies.

The Characteristics and Performances of Manufacturing SMEs that Utilize Public Information Support Infrastructure (공공 정보지원 인프라 활용한 제조 중소기업의 특징과 성과에 관한 연구)

  • The small and medium sized enterprises (hereinafter SMEs) are already at a competitive disadvantaged when compared to large companies with more abundant resources. Manufacturing SMEs not only need a lot of information needed for new product development for sustainable growth and survival, but also seek networking to overcome the limitations of resources, but they are faced with limitations due to their size limitations. In a new era in which connectivity increases the complexity and uncertainty of the business environment, SMEs are increasingly urged to find information and solve networking problems. In order to solve these problems, the government funded research institutes plays an important role and duty to solve the information asymmetry problem of SMEs. The purpose of this study is to identify the differentiating characteristics of SMEs that utilize the public information support infrastructure provided by SMEs to enhance the innovation capacity of SMEs, and how they contribute to corporate performance. We argue that we need an infrastructure for providing information support to SMEs as part of this effort to strengthen of the role of government funded institutions; in this study, we specifically identify the target of such a policy and furthermore empirically demonstrate the effects of such policy-based efforts. Our goal is to help establish the strategies for building the information supporting infrastructure. To achieve this purpose, we first classified the characteristics of SMEs that have been found to utilize the information supporting infrastructure provided by government funded institutions. This allows us to verify whether selection bias appears in the analyzed group, which helps us clarify the interpretative limits of our study results. Next, we performed mediator and moderator effect analysis for multiple variables to analyze the process through which the use of information supporting infrastructure led to an improvement in external networking capabilities and resulted in enhancing product competitiveness. This analysis helps identify the key factors we should focus on when offering indirect support to SMEs through the information supporting infrastructure, which in turn helps us more efficiently manage research related to SME supporting policies implemented by government funded institutions. The results of this study showed the following. First, SMEs that used the information supporting infrastructure were found to have a significant difference in size in comparison to domestic R&D SMEs, but on the other hand, there was no significant difference in the cluster analysis that considered various variables. Based on these findings, we confirmed that SMEs that use the information supporting infrastructure are superior in size, and had a relatively higher distribution of companies that transact to a greater degree with large companies, when compared to the SMEs composing the general group of SMEs. Also, we found that companies that already receive support from the information infrastructure have a high concentration of companies that need collaboration with government funded institution. Secondly, among the SMEs that use the information supporting infrastructure, we found that increasing external networking capabilities contributed to enhancing product competitiveness, and while this was no the effect of direct assistance, we also found that indirect contributions were made by increasing the open marketing capabilities: in other words, this was the result of an indirect-only mediator effect. Also, the number of times the company received additional support in this process through mentoring related to information utilization was found to have a mediated moderator effect on improving external networking capabilities and in turn strengthening product competitiveness. The results of this study provide several insights that will help establish policies. KISTI's information support infrastructure may lead to the conclusion that marketing is already well underway, but it intentionally supports groups that enable to achieve good performance. As a result, the government should provide clear priorities whether to support the companies in the underdevelopment or to aid better performance. Through our research, we have identified how public information infrastructure contributes to product competitiveness. Here, we can draw some policy implications. First, the public information support infrastructure should have the capability to enhance the ability to interact with or to find the expert that provides required information. Second, if the utilization of public information support (online) infrastructure is effective, it is not necessary to continuously provide informational mentoring, which is a parallel offline support. Rather, offline support such as mentoring should be used as an appropriate device for abnormal symptom monitoring. Third, it is required that SMEs should improve their ability to utilize, because the effect of enhancing networking capacity through public information support infrastructure and enhancing product competitiveness through such infrastructure appears in most types of companies rather than in specific SMEs.

  • The changes in the 4th industrial revolution era are not limited to specific sectors, but affect all sectors of industry. Thus all companies are required to respond effectively to changes. Some companies response by adopting cutting-edge ICT and some companies improve the organizational structure, or enhance the competence of individual employees. This study is based on the assumption that the responses to the change in the 4th industrial revolution era should not be uniform, and that the response strategies and priorities should vary according to the characteristics of the companies. The purpose of this study is to suggest both different response strategies and the priority of the responding factors(areas) to small and medium-sized enterprises. Data were collected through the semi-Delphi method. As a result of data analysis, the priorities of the medium-sized enterprises were as follows: introduction of IT-strengthening the competence of the individuals - establishing technology infrastructure-improving organizational structure - efficiency of work - improving organizational culture. While the priorities of the response factors(area) of the small-sized companies were as follows: strengthening the competence of the individuals - efficiency of work - introduction of IT - establishing technology infrastructure - improving organizational structure - improving organizational culture.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the present conditions and problems of the Electronic Commerce, specially by the fashion companies that utilize the Internet and to propose using plans of Internet Electronic Commerce as a strategic method of fashion companies that have a information-oriented mind to adapt itself to modern century. On the basis of my analysis, I propose some using plans of Internet Electronic Commerce by the fashion companies as follows. As a means of construction method, it is need for the pertinent companies to have an information-oriented mind and then to construct the low-expense but high-speed communication Infrastructure. As an operation and management method, positive web site advertisements plans, such as promotion, using various mass media, subscribing to the Internet search engines and dissemination of products information, etc., are need for companies to attract the consumers to connect to the web site. Second, to offer more satisfactory experiences, it is need for companies to frame the integrated shopping mall as a strategic alliance in the management of shopping mall. To frame the integrated shopping mall is also effective in solving financial problems of shopping mall management and introducing of security system As a means of technology supplement, security management systems, such as SSL or SET, should be introduced for consumers to pay the price and furnish their personal informations. Second, new technology developments, such as the newest simulation programs using Virtual Reality to solve the problem of products' actual feeling, should be need for consumers to feel as they really put clothes on. If these technological developments are realized, fashionable products will be dealt in the Internet shopping mall as well and the marketability of Internet shopping mall will be expanded.

  • The knowledge based economy requires more and more people to learn new knowledge and skills in a timely and effective manner. These needs and new technology such as computer and Internet are fueling a transition in e-learning. We did the case study of K company, which is leading the business to business e-learning in Korea. We investigated prior studies about e-learning and deduced the major variables composed of learner, tutor, infrastructure, contents, and practice. And then we suggested the successful way of doing the operation for the company's e-learning. We hope that this research will help the companies that have introduced or consider the adoption of e-learning.

  • It is a fundamental requirement for the medium-sized manufacturing company with multiple-types of products and mixed process flows to have a real time feedback system for systematic production scheduling and process control to maximize the productivity and delivery achievement. However it is very inferior in actual condition to make infrastructure for a systematic production scheduling and process control in middle-sized manufacturing company, Proposed in this paper is an MES implementation approach for the successful construction of MES infrastructure, implementation and operation in medium-sized manufacturing companies with multiple-types of products and mixed process flows.

  • Recently, e-business has very much attention in the management fields because it is expected to fundamentally change the way many business compete. Business that don't understand the changes and that can't change their operating model in time will be at a disadvantage. Information technology infrastructure and its management are key components of e-business The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of information technology infrastructure and its management to the type of information systems used and the use of e-business. A total of 56 Korean firms responded to the survey instrument. There was indirect effect to the use of e-business from the information technology structure via communication capacity and direct effect from management type. The study also found that firms with less centralized forms of information technology were more frequent users of e-business, Firms that have more freedom in information technology decision making tended to be users of the new technology and take advantage opportunities that exits on the information technology.

A Study on Factors that Influence the Degree of Participation in e-Marketplace (B2B e-Marketplace 참여도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study examines various factors which influence the degree of Participation In B to B e-Marketplace. Based on literature review, six factors such as Information provision, IT infrastructure, trust, aggregation, new customer creation, and matching are identified. To collect the empirical data, survey methodology has been utilized. A total of 32 companies have returned completed responses. The results of analysis show high interdependencies between six factors and the degree of participation in e-Marketplace. In particular, aggregation is found to be the most influential factor. Additional analysis reveals that firms participating highly in e-Marketplace recognize aggregation and new customer creation the most important factors while less participating firms see IT infrastructure more important.

  • Recently, ESG bond issuance has been gradually spreading to banks and non-financial private companies in Korea. However, the Korean ESG bond market is still in its infancy in terms of size, diversity and investor base compared to the global ESG bond market. In other words, ESG bonds are rapidly forming in the global market, but are still in the formation stage in the domestic market, and various policy and practical measures such as system, incentives, and infrastructure are needed to activate them. In this paper, we examine the domestic and international status of ESG bonds in relation to responsible investment. In addition, this paper explores specific measures to revitalize the domestic ESG bond market in four aspects: establishing ESG bond standards, procedures and regulations, increasing ESG bond investment demand, increasing ESG bond issuance, building market infrastructure and market efforts. This study is expected to contribute to the development of the domestic ESG bond market and responsible investment.
