Background: Information asymmetry between physicians and patients is one of the most unique characteristics of health care. But as consumerism spreads in health care sector, health care consumers are searching comparative information about quality and cost of providers from many information sources. Providing comparative information to health care consumers not only makes consumers choose hospital rationally, but also invigorates the health care market by providers' competition. However there are few studies regarding information searching behavior of health care consumers, then this study is carried out. Methods: The purpose of this study is to understand the information searching behavior of health care consumers based on their characteristics and the types of medical institutions. For this purpose, 313 spinal patients' data of 11 medical institutions (university hospital, spine specialized hospital, clinic) located in Seoul were collected by self-administered surveys. Results: The results of this study are as follows: 1) t-test/analysis of variance analysis showed that according to various characteristics of health care consumers and the types of medical institutions, the level of information searching of each source and the amount of information searching and searching outcomes are statistically different. 2) Regression analysis showed that influence on searching outcomes are statistically different according to the level of information searching of each source and searching content and the amount of information searching has positive effects on searching outcomes. Conclusion: The significance of this study is to provide empirical basis for establishment of health care policy reflecting information needs and preference of health care consumers.
As mobile shopping has increased in the new media age, fashion consumers' decision making and product consumption processes have changed. The volume of consumer-driven information has expanded since media and social networking sites have enabled consumers to share information they obtain. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors affecting information searching strategies and information sharing about fashion products. An online survey collected data from 466 respondents, relating to the influence of product price level and consumer SNS commitment level on information search and information sharing. Experimental design of three product price level and two consumer SNS commitment level was used. Analysis of the data identified factors in fashion information searching as ongoing searching, prepurchase web portal information search, and prepurchase marketing information search. For low-price fashion products, prepurchase product-detail influenced intention to share information. For mid-priced products, ongoing search significantly affected intention to share information. Both ongoing search and prepurchase marketing information search showed significant effects for high-price products. Consumers who are more committed to SNS engaged in significantly more searching in all aspects of information search factors. Significant interaction effect was detected for consumer SNS commitment level and product price level. When consumers with low consumer SNS commitment search for information on lower-priced fashion products, they are less likely do a prepurchase web portal information search.

The purpose of this study was to find out the differences of preferences in e-Learning contents delivery types according to information searching retrieval ability in agricultural high school students. Contents delivery types are limited three kinds which are HTML type, video type, and text type and need to know about differences. The following summarizes the results of this study. On the preference of e-Learning contents delivery type on information searching retrieval ability had differences. High level group of information searching retrieval ability showed that they mostly preferred text contents delivery type. However, low level group of information searching retrieval ability showed that they preferred video contents delivery type. The results support our belief that there could be the differences in preferences in e-Learning delivery types with students' information searching retrieval abilities. We suggest that delivery types of e-Learning should be based on the students not on designers and developers.
Objective : The purpose of this study is 1) to understand the information-searching behavior of health care consumers ; 2) to examine the relationship between the information-searching behavior of health-care consumers and regulatory variables such as socioeconomic factors, characteristics of medical utilization, and perceived risks ; and 3) to determine the factors that affect consumer satisfaction, especially with respect to information-searching behavior. Method : The data for this study were collected from 838 respondents in five university hospital located in three areas?Seoul, Gyeonggi province, and Chungchong province. As the first step of the study, we conducted a preliminary survey from September 23?26, 2008. At the second step, we conducted a survey on the effect of information-searching behavior on those individuals who had visited. Furthermore, personal interviews were conducted through a face-to-face survey between September 30 and October 17, 2008. Results : The major research findings that were obtained from the study were as follows : First, the age, educational level, and residential district were associated with information source utilization. Second, the level of information searching effort and quality of service had a significant effect on consumer satisfaction. Conclusion : These results show that it is essential for marketers to have in-depth knowledge about the young and educated people who actively search for information and about those who are in the prime of their life and rely on word-of-mouth communication from personal and experi in-al informers. Therefore, marketers should develop different marketing strategies to meet the needs of such consumers.
In this paper, we propose a multi-level block matching algorithm using motion information in blocks. In the proposed algorithm, the block-level is decided by the motion degree in the block before motion searching procedure, and then adequate motion searching performs according to the block-level. This improves computational efficiency by eliminating the unnecessary searching Process in no motion or low motion regions, and brings more accurate estimation results by deepening motion searching Process in high motion regions. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm brings the lower estimation error about 20% MSE reduction with the fewer blocks pet frame and the operation number was reduced to 56% compared to TSSA and 98% compared to FS -BMA with constant block size.

Even though information in many languages other than English is quickly increasing, English is still playing the role of the lingua franca and being accounted for the largest proportion on the web. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the key features and differences between "information searching behavior using mother tongue as a search language" and "information searching behavior using English as a search language" of users who are non-mother tongue speakers of English to acquire more diverse and abundant information. This study conducted the experiment on the web searching which is applied in concurrent think-aloud method to examine the information searching behavior and the cognitive process in Korean search and English search through the twenty-four undergraduate students at a private university in South Korea. Based on the qualitative data, this study applied the frequency analysis to web search pattern under search language. As a result, it is active, aggressive and independent information searching behavior in Korean search, while information searching behavior in English search is passive, submissive and dependent. In Korean search, the main features are the query formulation by extract and combine the terms from various sources such as users, tasks and system, the search range adjustment in diverse level, the smooth filtering of the item selection in search engine results pages, the exploration and comparison of many items and the browsing of the overall contents of web pages. Whereas, in English search, the main features are the query formulation by the terms principally extracted from task, the search range adjustment in limitative level, the item selection by rely on the relevance between the items such as categories or links, the repetitive exploring on same item, the browsing of partial contents of web pages and the frequent use of language support tools like dictionaries or translators.
An image segmentation approach based on the fuzzy worm searching and MIN-MAx clusterng algorithm is proposed in this paper. This algorithm deals with fuzzy worm value and min-max node at a gross scene level, which investigates the edge information including fuzzy worm action. But current segmentation methods based edge extraction methods generally need the mask information for the algebraic model, and take long run times at mask operation, wheras the proposed algorithm has single operation ccording to active searching of fuzzy worms. In addition, we also genetic min-max clustering using genetic algorithm to complete clustering and fuzyz searching on grey-histogram of image for the optimum solution, which can automatically determine the size of rnages and has both strong robust and speedy calculation. The simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm adaptively divided the quantized images in histogram region and performed single searching methods, significantly alleviating the increase of the computational load and the memory requirements.
Most of searching systems used by shopping-mall provide too much information for user requirements or fail to provide appropriate items reflecting customer's preference. This paper aims to design and implement the product searching systems based on customer preference which will enable efficient product selection in the internet shopping-mall. The proposed system consists of user/provider interface, searching and model agent, data management system, and model management system. Especially, we construct the searching pattern database to support fast search using association mining method. And this system includes the customer-oriented decision model which shows the highly preferred products. Input weight value per attribute and preference level should be needed to compute priority grade of preference.

This study analyzed the impact of ICT usage on elementary and secondary school students on the result of ICT literacy levels for finding out why most of students were 'normal' or 'basic'. As a result, we found out that the learning action, information searching and leisure action of student using ICT had correlation with ICT literacy level. The higher the rate using ICT for learning, information searching and leisure, the higher the ICT literacy level of student. But the higher the rate using ICT for communication, the lower the ICT literacy level of student. Accordingly, we proposed the policy not to increase simply ICT using of student, but to teach how to use ICT for learning and information searching.
The detection of pulmonary blood vessels is very difficult owing to their complex tree structures and different widths. In this paper, We propose a new detection algorithm. The motivation of this algorithm is that Han is the best detector. So, this algorithm is developed to imitate the human searching process. To realize it, the algorithm consist of two components. One is Pyramid Images whose one pixel is median value of four pixels of the previous low level. Searching gradually from high level to low level, We concentrate on global and main information of structure at the first. Then based on it, We search the detailed data in low level. The other is fuzzy logic which makes it easy to convert searching process expressed as human language into numeric multi_value. This algorithm showes speedy and robust results. But the more study on both human searching process and the detection of small part is needed.
