Company A, an embedded system manufacturer, has been managing multiple development projects. Executives need to understand the risk level of every project and prioritize resource distribution. Traditional project monitoring tools or excel sheets are too complex for calculating the risk factors across a functional organization. Two new charts, "Spear-head Chart" and "Float Chart" were designed to assist high level decision making processes. Two charts were used for weekly executive meetings in order to monitor project progress and rectify project direction. One page graphical monitoring tools in Company A are good enough for high management decision making. Authors explain the characteristics of two charts and propose its practical implementation in real working environment. Spear-head chart was also implemented as a system.

This paper presents a method of constructing the multiple-valued combinational logic systems(MVCLS) by decision diagram. The switching function truth table of MVCLS is transformed into canonical normal form of sum-of-products(SOP) with literals at first. Next, the canonical normal form of SOP is transfered into multiple-valued logic decision diagram(MVLDD). The selecting of variable ordering is very important in this stage. The MVLDDs are quite different from each other according to the variable ordering. Sometimes the inadequate variable ordering produces a very large size of MVLDD means the large size of circuit implementation. An algorithm for generating the proper variable ordering produce minimal MVLDD and an example shows the verity of the algorithm. The circuits are realized with T-gate acceording to the minimal MVLDD.

A high speed Viterbi decoder with a circularly connected 2-dimensional analog processing cell array is proposed. It has a 2-dimensional parallel processing structure in which an analog processing cell is placed at each node of a trellis diagram. The constraints' length of trellis diagram is connected circularly so that infinitively expanding trellis diagram is realized with the fixed size of circuits. The proposed Viterbi decoder has advantages in that it is operated with better performance of error correction, has a shorter latency and requires no path memories. The performance of error correction with the proposed Viterbi decoder is tested via the software simulation.

Due to advances in information technology, even Engineering Simulations can now be performed in web-based JAVA through an integrated operating system called Virtual Machine and the use of byte code, which guarantees the compatibility of identical codes in every computing system and makes it suitable for web-based simulation system development. This paper introduces an implementation embodied in JAVA Applet that allows a block-diagram type GUI that runs in a web browser for use in the dynamics simulation modeling of powertrains of vehicles and multi-body systems. This system is not restrained by any of the H/W and S/W in the user's computer, so that it has the advantage of providing a GUI that allows web-based block-diagram type modeling.

The purpose of this study is to development of life cycle cost analysis methodology of HVAC system for decision maker. The results of this study are as follows; maintenance/management, equipment construction, planning/design, and demolition/sell phases (1) To develop the cost breakdown structure for LCC in HVAC system, this study apply the method of additional pertinent level, title, CBS number, block number and variable index. (2) LCC analysis order of HVAC system compose four phase. (3) Life cycle costing influence diagram can bring us to make the most efficient decision through a visual graphical diagram that is shown relationship among variables and that decision maker traces easily from life cycle cost analysis situation.

A single line diagram is a graphic user interface to represent electrical connectivity between power equipments in distribution automation systems. This paper proposes a new single line auto-drawing technique based on the service oriented architecture. Web service, CIM(Common Information Model) and SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) are adopted to implement SOA concept. A web service demo system was established which is configured with the service provider, consumer and broker to verify the feasibility of this study.

The dispersion characteristics of tape meander line were analyzed by electromagnetic field theory. The several different tape meander lines were photoetched on copper printed-bakelit substrate, and these tape meander line structures were inserted into the X-band waveguide. Phase bridge method was used for the dispersion characteristics measurement of meanderline. The measured. results were plotted on diagram(Brillouin diagram) and compared with theoretical values. Measured results were consistent with theoretical Values. But, on the measured diagram, passband midfrequency was lower than theoretical value. It was believed that the discrepancy was due to the backelite loading. The group velocity of stagger tuned meander line was higher than that of uniform meander live, and the freqnency band of constant group velocity of stagger tuned meanderline was sider than that of uniform meander line.

Processing of thin films by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is accompanied by chemical reactions, in which the rigorous kinetic analysis is difficult to achieve. In these conditions, thermodynamic calculation leads to better understanding of the CVD process and helps to optimise the experimental parameters to obtain a desired product. A CVD phase diagram has been used as guide lines for the process. By determining the effect of each process variable on the driving force for deposition, the thermodynamic limit for the substrate temperature that diamond can deposit is calculated in the C-H system by assuming that the limit is defined by the CVD diamond phase diagram. The addition of iso-supersaturation ratio lines to the CVD phase diagram in the Si-Cl-H system provides additional information about the effects of CVD process variables.

In solvent extraction, extraction isotherm represents the relation between the equilibrium concentration of metal in the aqueous and organic phase. McCabe-Thiele diagram on which extraction isotherm and operating line are constructed provides valuable information on the mass transfer operation. When the equilibrium constant of a solvent extraction reaction is known, the calculation method to obtain extraction isotherm was introduced. Kresmer equation by which the number of extraction stages can be calculated when the distribution coefficient is constant was introduced.

In this paper, we present Hand-gesture recognition for actual computing into color images from camera. Color images are binarization and labeling by using the YCbCr Color model. Respectively label area seeks the center point of the hand from to search Maximum Inscribed Circle which applies Voronoi-Diagram. This time, searched maximum circle and will analyze the elliptic ingredient which is contiguous so a hand territory will be able to extract. we present the presentation contral system using elliptic element and Maximum Inscribed Circle. This algorithm is to recognize the various environmental problems in the hand gesture recognition in the background objects with similar colors has the advantage that can be effectively eliminated.
