  • The ergonomic human model can be considered as a tool for the evaluation of ergonomic factors in vehicle design process. The proper anthropometric data on driver's postures are needed in order to apply a human model to vehicle design. Although studies on driver's posture have been carried out for the last few decades, there are still some problems for the posture data to be applied directly to the human model due to the lack of fitness because such studies were not carried out under the conditions for the human model application. In the traditional researches, the joint angles were evaluated by the categorized data, which are not appropriate for the human model application because it is so extensive that it can not explain the posture evaluation data in detail. And the human models require whole-body posture evaluation data rather than joint evaluation data. In this study a postural evaluation function was developed not by category data but by the concept of the loss function in quality engineering. The loss was defined as the discomfort in driver's posture and measured by the magnitude estimation technique in the experiment using a seating buck. Four loss functions for the each joint - knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow were developed and a whole-body postural evaluation function was constructed by the regression analysis using these loss functions as independent factors. The developed postural evaluation function shows a good prediction power for the driver's posture discomfort in validation test. It is expected that the driver's postural evaluation function based on the loss function can be used in the human model application to the vehicle design process.

  • Performing arts is an intangible arts that disappears immediately at the moment it is presented and remains only in the memory of the performer's body and audience. The same repetition, restoration and reproduction of the disappeared performance is impossible, but artists of all times and places have tried various recording methodology to leave their performances in the tangible form. The performing arts archive is where performing arts are recorded, preserved, and utilized. In the fourth industrial Revolution era, library institutions in developed countries are turning into institutions that support creative activity by not only artists but also the general public. Korea's performing arts archives should also shift from the role of an old archive to a platform to create new cultural contents. This paper summarizes the changes in the Korean performing arts archive and presents the creative application of the performing arts archive in response to the fourth industrial revolution.

  • LD slag, that is, a by-product of steel making process, has been mainly used as land construction materials. Recently, the seashore application of LD slag was tried in Japan and Korea but the reaction between LD slag and seawater was not studied yet. We tried to clarify the leaching reaction and/or mechanism of LD slag and the reaction between seawater and LD slag. We tried to apply these results to the decarbonization of seawater for seawater magnesia process. The high pH solution(over 12) was injected into the sea water and the pH of mixed liquid was adjusted to 9.8. This mixed solution was aged for 8 hours and the 104ppm of CO$_3$$^{-2}$ in the sea water was decreased to 23ppm with the negligible loss of $Mg^2$$^{+}$. The slag particle was directly inserted into the seawater fur practical application. The 0.5~1mm particles were suitable for decarbonization when 5 grade slags mentioned above were reacted with sea water. In this case, the content of CO$_3$$^{-2}$ in the sea water was 53 ppm with the negligible loss of $Mg^2$$^{+}$ after 8 hours aging. The direct application of slag particle fur the decarbonization of seawater takes more reaction time.ime.
