Purpose In this paper, we propose the method to extend topic modeling techniques in order to derive data-based research hypotheses when establishing research hypotheses for social sciences, As a concept in contrast to the existing deductive hypothesis establishment methodology for the social science research, the topic modeling technique was expanded to enable the so-called inductive hypothesis establishment methodology, and an analysis case of the Seongsan Ilchulbong online review based on the proposed methodology was presented. Design/methodology/approach In this paper, an extension architecture and extension algorithm in the form of extending the existing topic modeling were proposed. The extended architecture and algorithm include data processing method based on topic ratio in document, correlation analysis and regression analysis of processed data for topics derived by existing topic modeling. In addition, in this paper, an analysis case of the online review of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak was presented by applying the extended topic modeling algorithm. An exploratory analysis was performed on the Seongsan Ilchulbong online reviews through the basic text analysis. The data was transformed into 5-point scale to enable correlation and regression analysis based on the topic ratio in each online review. A regression analysis was performed using the derived topics as the independent variable and the review rating as the dependent variable, and hypotheses could be derived based on this, which enable the so-called inductive hypothesis establishment. Findings This paper is meaningful in that it confirmed the possibility of deriving a causal model and setting an inductive hypothesis through an extended analysis of topic modeling.

This paper presents modeling of an inductive micro position sensing system and its analysis. The parameters affected the system response are excitation frequency, turn ratio, input position, air-gap size, load resistance, and geometric dimensions. To analyze the system, we try to establish a modeling based on an equivalent magnetic circuit with permeances. The model is verified by the experimental results from 1 kHz to 20 kHz. The magnetic circuit model is well fitted to the experimental data except a little error due to LC resonance in the large turn-ratio system. Modeling enables us to theoretically approach the response characteristics. Based on the magnetic circuit model, system parameters can be selected in such a way to obtain the required characteristics such as high sensitivity, good linearity, or small size.
The task of classification permeates all walks of life, from business and economics to science and public policy. In this context, nonlinear techniques from artificial intelligence have often proven to be more effective than the methods of classical statistics. The objective of knowledge discovery and data mining is to support decision making through the effective use of information. The automated approach to knowledge discovery is especially useful when dealing with large data sets or complex relationships. For many applications, automated software may find subtle patterns which escape the notice of manual analysis, or whose complexity exceeds the cognitive capabilities of humans. This paper explores the utility of a collaborative learning approach involving integrated models in the preprocessing and postprocessing stages. For instance, a genetic algorithm effects feature-weight optimization in a preprocessing module. Moreover, an inductive tree, artificial neural network (ANN), and k-nearest neighbor (kNN) techniques serve as postprocessing modules. More specifically, the postprocessors act as second0order classifiers which determine the best first-order classifier on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the second-order models, a voting scheme is investigated as a simple, but efficient, postprocessing model. The first-order models consist of statistical and machine learning models such as logistic regression (logit), multivariate discriminant analysis (MDA), ANN, and kNN. The genetic algorithm, inductive decision tree, and voting scheme act as kernel modules for collaborative learning. These ideas are explored against the background of a practical application relating to financial fraud management which exemplifies a binary classification problem.
This study examines the effects of data-driven learning (DDL)-an approach employing corpora for inductive language pattern learning-on error identification in second language (L2) writing. The data consists of error identification instances from fifty-five participants, compared across different reference materials: the Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA), dictionaries, and no use of reference materials. There are three significant findings. First, the use of COCA effectively identified collocational and form-related errors due to inductive inference drawn from multiple example sentences. Secondly, dictionaries were beneficial for identifying lexical errors, where providing meaning information was helpful. Finally, the participants often employed a strategic approach, identifying many simple errors without reference materials. However, while maximizing error identification, this strategy also led to mislabeling correct expressions as errors. The author has concluded that the strategic selection of reference materials can significantly enhance the effectiveness of error identification in L2 writing. The use of a corpus offers advantages such as easy access to target phrases and frequency information-features especially useful given that most errors were collocational and form-related. The findings suggest that teachers should guide learners to effectively use appropriate reference materials to identify errors based on error types.
Wireless power transmission introduced by Tesla has instrumented by many scientists of the world. This technique first was utilized as wireless communications such as radio in long range transmission. And contactless transmission using inductive property was used on white goods. In 2007, MIT' lab introduced that new wireless power transmission by magnetic resonance which has about 50% efficiency and 2M transmission distances, it was a chance to refocus a new possibility of wireless power transmission. In this paper, using LC coupling compensate the short distances of contactless transmission, this simple method could transmit about 30cm distances. Using this approach, it can be solved the short transmission distances, a drawback of Electromagnetic inductive coupling method.

This research investigates computer generated hybrid second-order model of two numerically based approaches to risk classification : discriminant analysis and neural networks. The hybrid second-order models are derived by rule induction using the ID3 and tested in the several different kinds of data. This new hybrid approach is designed to combine the high prediction accuracy and robustness of DA or NN with perspicuity of ID3. The hybrid model also eliminates the problem of contradictory inputs of ID3. After doing empirical test for the validity of hybrid model using small and medium companies' bankrupt data, hybrid model shows high perspicuity, high prediction accuracy for bankrupt, and simplicity for rules. The hybrid model also shows high performance regardless the type of data such as numeric data, non-numeric data, and combined data.
Our paper describes an Intrusion Detection Parallel System(IDPS) which detects an anomaly activity corresponding to the actions that interaction between near detection events. IDES uses parallel inductive approaches regarding the problem of real-time anomaly behavior detection on rule-based system. This approach uses sequential rule that describes user's behavior and characteristics dependent on time. and that audits user's activities by using rule base as data base to store user's behavior pattern. When user's activity deviates significantly from expected behavior described in rule base. anomaly behaviors are recorded. Observed behavior is flagged as a potential intrusion if it deviates significantly from the expected behavior or if it triggers a rule in the parallel inductive system.
DELVAUX is an inductive learning environment that learns Bayesian classification rules from a set o examples. In DELVAUX, a genetic a, pp.oach is employed to learn the best rule-set, in which a population consists of rule-sets and rule-sets generate offspring by exchanging some of their rules. We have explored a meta-learning a, pp.oach in the DELVAUX learning environment to improve the classification performance of the DELVAUX system. The meta-learning a, pp.oach learns the bias of a classifier so that it can evaluate the prediction made by the classifier for a given example and thereby improve the overall performance of a classifier system. The paper discusses the meta-learning a, pp.oach in details and presents some empirical results that show the improvement we can achieve with the meta-learning a, pp.oach.
Recently, the study for development of system having affinity for environment is on investigation. This issue is also applicable to transportation system. This paper suggested the inductive power transformer used for the road/railway applied to contactless power transfer system. The two secondary windings, large gaped magnetic structure and horizontal alignment between primary and secondary coil for that transformer approach a process for improvement of contactless power transfer system performance.
