A fast-sweep broadband FM reflectometer system has been successfully developed and operacted at the DIII-D tokamak, producing reliable density Profiles with excellent spatial (1 $\leq$ cm) and temporal resolution (~100 $\mu$ s). The system uses a solid-state microwave oscillator and an active quadrupler, covering full Q-band frequencies (33~50 GHz) and providing relatively high output power (20~60 mW). The system hardware allows fu11band frequency sweep in 10 $\mu$ s, but due to digitization rate limit on DIII-D, sweep time was limited to 75~100 $\mu$ s. Fast frequency sweep has helped to reduce density fluctuation effects on the reflectometer phase measurements, thus improving reliability for individual sweeps. The fast-sweep system with high spatial and temporal resolution has allowed to measure fast-changing edge density profiles during plasma ELMS and L-H transitions, thus enabling fast-time sca1e physics studies.

Here we show how by processing energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS) data obtained using highly sensitive, new generation EDS detectors in the AZtec LayerProbe software we can obtain data of sufficiently high quality to non-destructively measure the number of layers in two-dimensional (2D) $MoS_2$ and $MoS_2/WSe_2$ and thereby enable the characterization of working devices based on 2D materials. We compare the thickness measurements with EDS to results from atomic force microscopy measurements. We also show how we can use electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) to address fabrication challenges of 2D materials. Results from EBSD analysis of individual flakes of exfoliated $MoS_2$ obtained using the Nordlys Nano detector are shown to aid a better understanding of the exfoliation process which is still widely used to produce 2D materials for research purposes.
We present IR flux density measurements, models of the broadband SED, and results of SED modeling for the Pulsar Wind Nebula (PWN) 3C 58. We find that the Herschel flux density seems to be slightly lower than suggested by interpolation of previous measurements in nearby wavebands, implying that there may be multiple electron populations in 3C 58. We model the SED using a simple stationary one-zone and a more realistic time-evolving multi-zone scenario. The latter includes variations of flow properties in the PWN (injected energy, magnetic field, and bulk speed), radiative energy losses, adiabatic expansion, and diffusion, similar to previous PWN models. From the modeling, we find that a PWN age of 2900-5400 yrs is preferred and that there may be excess emission at ${\sim}10^{11}Hz$. The latter may imply multiple populations of electrons in the PWN.

Wheat stripe rust, caused by Puccinia striiformis, has reduced winter wheat yield globally for ages. In this work, multi-spectral Mueller matrix imaging with 37 measurements using the method of double rotatable quarter-wave plates was used to investigate wheat stripe rust. Individual Mueller matrix measurements were performed on incident monochromatic light with nine bands in the range of 430 to 690 nm. As a result, it was found that the infected area absorbed linearly polarized light and was sensitive to circularly polarized light in the spectral domain. Both linear depolarization and linear diattenuation images distinguished between wheat stripe rust and healthy tissue. The responsiveness of stripe rust to polarized light reveals the potential of using polarization imaging to detect plant diseases. This further suggests that the multi-spectral Mueller matrix imaging system provides us with an alternative approach to agricultural disease detection.

Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs) have been widely utilized for assessing streamflow discharge, yet few comprehensive studies were conducted to evaluate discharge uncertainty in consideration of individual uncertainty components. It could be mostly because it was not easy to determine which uncertainty framework can be appropriate to rigorously analyze streamflow discharge driven by ADCPs. In this regard, considerable efforts have been made by scientific and engineering societies to develop a standardized theoretical framework for uncertainty analysis in hydrometry. One of the well-established UA methodology based on sound statistical and engineering concepts is Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty Measurement (GUM) adopted widely by various scientific and research communities. This research fundamentally adapted the GUM framework to assess individual uncertainty components of ADCP discharge measurements, and subsequently provided results of a customized experiment in a controllable real-scale artificial river channel. We focused particularly upon sensitivities of uncertainty components in the GUM framework driven by ADCPs direct measurements such as depths, edge distance, submerged depth, velocity gap, sampling time, repeatability, bed roughness and so on. Section-by-Section method for ADCP discharge measurement was applied for uncertainty analysis for this study. All of measurements were carefully compared with data using other instrumentations such as ADV to evaluate individual uncertainty components.

In order to get the basic information about the designing and manufacturing of special clothing which is suitable diplegia individuals, taking anthropometic measurements, the di-plegia's body dimension, standard dimension, their correlation, maximum, minimum, the relative deviation graph of Mollison and the body index were obtained. The writer examined their body development and abnormal somatotype and compared the difference with the normal somatotype. The results are as follows: 1 One characteristic of the body of diplegia individuals is that their lower parts are dis- proportionately developed, compared to their upper parts. 2. Diplegia individuals have smaller measurements than those of the normal; height, breadth, and circumference measurments of lower parts. And diplegia individuals have larger measur- ments; breadth and circumference measurements of upper parts, most of the length measur- ements. 3. In body index, diplegia individuals have lager measurments than those of the normals; most of index for stature and chest circumference and waist circumference index. And diplegia individuals have smaller measurments; most of the lower parts. 4. Change of somatotype according to age is unbalanced different from the normal's. 5. For the proportion of diplegia individuals, therefore a different pattern design of ciothing is required based on their special somatotype.
In this paper, we evaluated the effect of a silica-based Anti-Reflection(AR) coating for PV modules. The coating technique can be easily applied to large-scale PV modules at room temperature with improvements of the optical properties that is qualified by the optical transmission measurements on the coated cover glass of the modules. The power improvement of the large-scale PV modules shows the increasing about 2.4% at standard condition of the coating technique on average. To improve the AR coating effect of the PV modules, we have characterized the individual PV modules by the measurements of DC power output, modified performance ratio(PRm) and the regression. The results show that the significant improvements of the AR coating effect are 6.4%, 5.5% and 4.5% of increasing of the performances by using the measurements of DC power output, modified performance ratio(PRm) and the regression, respectively.

The purposes of this study were 1) to present the optimum slacks pattern for young men, 2) to develope a methodology to draft basic slacks pattern using AutoCAD The total crotch legth and the shape of the crutch line were determined by anthropometric data analysis. The total crotch length was calculated with the waist girth, the hip girth and the crotch length measurements. The anthropometric data utilized for this procedure was National Anthropometric Survey of Korea, 1992. And multidimensional anthropometric measurements were carried out for 6 male college students between the age of 18 to 24. The subjects were measured with the Martin's anthropometer and the sliding gauge. Mean, standard deviation and t-test were performed for statistical analysis of the data. The automatic drafting method was programmed by AutoLISP in AutoCAD. The automatic drafting was based on the Muller's slacks pattern drafting method, the measurements of slacks construction components and the curve of crotch line. The crotch line was drafted using of the arc function in AutoCAD. The total crotch length was calcuated using the multiple regression equation. The experimental pattern developed to accomodate individual body wleasurements expected to produce customized apparel production in QRS(Quick Response System) production system.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the body cathexis, ideal body shape, clothing satisfaction and their interrelationships. The subjects were 445 middle- and high- school girls. The findings were as follows : the subjects were more satisfied with their face appearance than body parts. They were very unsatisfied with thigh. leg and weight. Generally they were more satisfied with upper body than lower body, and more satisfied with length measurements than girth measurements. They accepted 169.19cm as ideal height and 49.18kg as ideal weight. The middle-school girls wanted to be taller than high-school girls by 3cm. But the ideal weight of both were almost same. The Rohrer indices indicated that the subjects were normal to slender type. But the Rohrer indices calculated using ideal height and ideal weight showed that the subjects thought extremely slender type as ideal body shape. The attitude of body was evaluated by two factors. the awareness of body shape and the physical attractiveness. The awareness of body shape was deeply influenced by girth measurements and lower body parts. And physical attractiveness was severely affected by face appearance. Weight was more important than height in regard to body cathexis. The ideal body shape was independent of individual situation but was formed by social value. The satisfaction of clothing in terms of design related aspects was influenced by body cathexis. Also the more satisfied with their body. the more they felt comfortable for their clothing. The body cathexis was interrelated with the satisfaction of clothing in some aspects.
The purpose of this study was to systematize accurate data about the body measurements of early adolescent boys, as there was a broad individual variance between their bodies, and it's additionally attempted to identify the unique physical characteristics of different age groups. The subjects in this study were boys who were at the ages of 10 to 14 in the capital area. Their bodies were measured by anthropometric and photographic method, and data on 549 boys were analyzed. The total of 100 items(47 anthropometric items, 10 indexed items and 43 photographic items) were selected to be measured. For data analysis were performed descriptive statistics, ANOVA and Duncan test using SPSS Ver. 10. The results of the study are as follows. According to the result of comparing the body measurements of early adolescent boys, a period of active growth and a period of slow growth were repeated alternately as they aged and the age of active growth tended to get younger.
