  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of three PNF stretching techniques for improving hamstring flexibility and to compare the effectiveness of three PNF stretching techniques(direct and indirect and mix(direct&indirect) of hold-relax technique). METHODS: The subjects were randomly assigned into three groups: group1-direct-hold-relax technique(n=10); group2-indirect-hold-relax technique(n=8); group3-mix(direct&indirect)-hold-relax technique(n=10). For each group, stretch was performed three times a week for a period of three weeks. Hamstring flexibility for each group was measured using the ASLR and PSLR. RESULTS: The results showed significant improvement in hamstring flexibility for all subjects of three groups. However, were not significantly different between the three groups. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, three PNF stretching techniques are confirmed to be useful for improving hamstring flexibility. The choice for a qualified technique has to be made individually according to patient and therapist.

  • Detailed finishing of the occlusion is a clinical skill that has become difficult with the development of fixed appliances. Accuracy of bracket placement definitely improves with indirect technique, Several methods for the placement of orthodontic brackets on dental casts are currently used in the indirect bonding technique. These include attachment by means of bonding resins, adhesive tapes or sticky wax. This article presents the indirect procedures of our clinic, which use paste-paste chemically cured composites. Detailed laboratory and clinical procedure for dual tray method and other application of indirect bonding will be presented.

  • Indirect bonding is done by placing the brackets on a model in the laboratory and using a template or tray to transfer the laboratory positioning to the teeth. The advantages of this technique are 1. decreased chair time 2. less patient discomfort 3. accuracy of a attachment placement 4. good adaptation of attachment to tooth contour 5. occlusal relationship of brackets and opposing teeth can be checked The disadvantages of the technique are 1. complex laboratory procedure 2. sometimes difficult on very short clinical crowns 3. teeth with crowns, large buccal restoration will not bond 4. may not be fitted close, if poor adaptation 5. likely to be disturbed setting Several indirect bonding techniques have proved reliable in clinical practice. However, they differ in the way the brackets are attached temporarily to the model, the type of transfer tray or other mechanism used, the adhesive or sealant employed, whether segmented or full bonding used, and the way the transfer is removed so as not to exert excessive force on a still maturing bond.

  • Children who have severely destructive anterior primary dentition, as in nursing-bottle caries, in trauma, in rampant caries and in developmental defects, present the dentist with one of the most perplexing situations in dentistry. Especially, children with managed behavor difficultly is very severly situations. This paper reported a new technique for the utilization of resin post and strip crown to indirect methods on severely destructive primary anterior teeth. We name it "indirect short resin post crown" in this paper. Indirect technique be considered to be a simple, a retentive, intensive, color-stable and esthetic restoration.

  • Periodontal disease and/or loss of teeth brings pathologic tooth migration that can result in esthetic and occlusal problems. Diastema and general spacing of the teeth, particularly in the anterior segments of the dentition are frequently developed in individuals with advanced periodontal disease. Thus, the overall treatment plan for a patent with advanced periodontal disease often involves periodontal orthodontic combined therapy. Orthodontic treatment in adults with periodontal disease is restricted to tooth alignment with special caution. Indirect bonding can achieve accurate bracket placement. A 38 year old woman with adult periodontitis was treated by periodontal therapy. Subsequently, her diastema was orthodontically corrected by indirect bonding technique. It must be an appropriate case report of periodontal-orthodontic combined therapy.

  • Modern processors achieve high performance exploiting avaliable Instruction Level Parallelism(ILP) by using speculative technique such as branch prediction. Traditionally, branch direction can be predicted at very high accuracy by 2-level predictor, and branch target address is predicted by Branch Target Buffer(BTB). Except for indirect branch, each of the branch has the unique target, so its prediction is very accurate via BTB. But because indirect branch has dynamically polymorphic target, indirect branch target prediction is very difficult. In general, the technique of branch direction prediction is applied to indirect branch target prediction, and much better accuracy than traditional BTB is obtained for indirect branch. We present a new indirect branch target prediction scheme which combines a indirect branch instruction with its data dependent register of the instruction executed earlier than the branch. The result of SPEC benchmark simulation which are obtained on SimpleScalar simulator shows that the proposed predictor obtains the most perfect prediction accuracy than any other existing scheme.

  • High speed elevator requires precise drive included in zero speed at start/stop drive for the high stability and controllability. The vector control techniques, which have been used for the precise operation of induction motor, can be divided into two classes; The indirect vector control by slip frequency and the direct vector control by field orientation. The existing direct vector control technique has a robustness against the change of motor parameter and the existing indirect vector control technique has a strength of control ability in the wide speed range comparatively. This study presents the DTIF (Direct Torque Indirect Flux) controller which has robust movement in the transition state and in about zero and low speed using the control technique in which torque is controlled by the direct vector technique and flux is controled by indirect vector technique. The proposed system is verified by simulation and experiment for driving 3 phase induction motor. The process of transition which is from about zero speed and low speed to high speed is compared and measured to specification of phase voltage, phase current and DC link current. It is verified that DTIF controller show robust and stable speed variation.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to present the learning items of indirect practice as an alternative means of ambulance riding practice. Methods: Twelve on-site professionals participated in testing the effectiveness of learning items of utility value in indirect experience practice among the recommended learning objectives of ambulance ride practice using the modified Delphi technique. To validate the learning objectives, the Delphi technique was used to check content validity, and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) analysis was used to analyze the weighting value. Results: As the learning goal of indirect experience practice replaced the ambulance riding practice, four items were derived in consideration of practicality. These items were consistent with the Delphi panel's consistency index, convergence, and agreement. The first learning item to consider was 'Prevention of infection and risk of infection.' Conclusion: The results of this study are meaningful in that they propose the learning items that can achieve the minimum educational goal through indirect experience practice as an alternative means of ambulance training.

  • The present experiment was done to identify newcastle disease virus(NDV) antigens in frozen sections of various oragns from experimentally NDV-infected with indirect immunoperoxidase method. Section were incubated with rabbit anti-NDV polyclonal as first antibody, followed by incubation with goat anti-rabbit or protein A peroxidase conjugate. Positive reactions were often detected in the epithelium of trachea and in the lymphocyte of spleen at 24 hours after virus inoculation. the viral antigen was localized mainly in the cytoplasm of infected cells. The method approved to be highly specific for the identification of NDV and allowed a precise localization of the viral antigens in infected cells.
