  • In this paper, we proposed image processing technique for automatic real time fire and smoke detection in tunnel environment. To avoid the large scale of damage of fire occurred in the tunnel, it is necessary to have a system to minimize and to discover the incident as fast as possible. The fire and smoke detection is different from the forest fire detection as there are elements such as car and tunnel lights and others that are different from the forest environment so that an indigenous algorithm has to be developed. The two algorithms proposed in this paper, are able to detect the exact position, at the earlier stage of incident.

  • This study was carried out to develop the core technology for the manufacturing the flat floor panel with the bamboo grown in Damyang region maintaining its indigenous merits. Using capital bamboo(Phyllostachys bambusoides) of Damyang with superior physical and working properties, Authors have standardized the core technologies for the integrated production of flat floor panel using this superior bamboo i.e, washing, splitting, flattening, blasting, and overlaying over plywood. It is expected to increase the income from bamboo forest and to enhance the image of the eco-city, Damyang with this technological development. Additional quality assuring test and economical analysis for the industralization as building material will be performed.

북한산국립공원의 현존식생분포 및 관리 (Distribution of Actual Vegetation and Management of Bukhansan National Park)

  • 북한산국립공원의 현존식생 및 녹지자연도와 외래식물 분포실태를 2007년에 조사하였다. 북한산국립공원의 현존식생은 총 8개의 식물군락과 기타 지역으로 구분 되었으며, 자연림은 신갈나무군락, 신갈나무소나무군락, 낙엽활엽수림 등 5개 식물군락으로, 조림지는 잣나무림, 리기다소나무림, 아까시나무림 등 3개 산림유형으로 구분되었다. 북한산국립공원의 녹지자연도에서 가장 넓게 분포한 것은 8등급 지역이 약 92.8%였다. 북한산국립공원안에 식재된 수목류는 총 71과 212종류이었고 이 중 자생종은 37과 67종류(31.6%), 외래종은 58과 145종류(68.4%)이었다. 북한산국립공원의 자연환경 회복, 자생식물의 다양성 유지와 자연경관을 향상시키기 위해서는 외래수종에 대한 관리가 필요하다.

Seven New Recorded Species in Five Genera of the Strophariaceae in Korea

  • Most known species in the Strophariaceae are decomposers and grow on various kind of organic matter. Approximately 18 genera and 1,316 species in the Strophariaceae have been reported worldwide. Through an ongoing survey of indigenous fungi in Korea, 29 specimens belonging to the Strophariaceae were collected from 2012 to 2016. These specimens were identified based on morphological characteristics and molecular analysis of internal transcribed spacer sequences. Fifteen taxa were confirmed, with eight species matching those previously recorded. Seven species in five genera were shown to be new records in Korea: Galerina marginata, Gymnopilus crociphyllus, Gymnopilus picreus, Hebeloma birrus, Hebeloma cavipes, Pholiota multicingulata, and Psilocybe thaizapoteca. In this study, we provide detailed morphological descriptions of these species and investigate their evolutionary relationships by constructing phylogenetic trees.

Six unrecorded macrofungi from the Royal Tombs(Donggureung and Seooreung) of the Joseon Dynasty and Jongmyo Shrine, Korea

  • Macrofungi are visible to the naked eye and play important ecological roles in nutrient cycles as decomposers and symbionts in forest ecosystems. Collectively, macrofungi have great potential as valuable resources for food, cosmetics, and medicinal uses. We surveyed the Royal Tombs (Donggureung and Seooreung) of the Joseon Dynasty and Jongmyo Shrine, where the surrounding vegetation is well-preserved, to investigate indigenous macrofungi. During surveys in 2015-2016, we discovered six macrofungi that were previously not recorded to Korea. They were identified to the species level using morphological features and phylogenetic analysis based on the internal transcribed spacer region: Cruentomycena kedrovaya, Dacrymyces aureosporus, Laetiporus versisporus, Parasola setulosa, Piptoporellus soloniensis, and Pluteus longistriatus. The detailed morphological descriptions and molecular analysis are provided in this study.

Evaluation of Cellulolytic Enzyme Production by Indigenous Fungi in Korea

  • The aim of this study was to select various fungal strains indigenous to Korea that have the potential to produce cellulases, including filter paper activity (FPase), $endo-{\beta}$-1,4-glucanase (EG), and ${\beta}-glucosidase$ (BGL). Among the 25 species of Ascomycetes and the 32 species of Basidiomycetes tested in this study, the Bjerkandera adusta KUC10565, Heterobasidion orientale KUC10556, Hyphoderma praetermissum KUC10609, and Trichoderma harzianum KUC1716 all exhibited remarkably high FPase activity. In addition, the T. harzianum KUC1716 showed high levels of EG and BGL activity. This strain has been selected for further study because of their enzymatic potential.

  • 기후변화협약 제16차 당사국총회에서 결정된 칸쿤 합의문의 REDD+ 결정문과 노르웨이의 인도네시아 REDD+ 국가 전략을 평가하기 위한 중요 요소를 바탕으로 인도네시아의 REDD+ 전략을 사전에 평가하기 위한 4가지 정성적인 기준을 개발하였다. '산림전용 및 산림황폐화의 원인 규명'(평가기준 1)과 '국가 MRV 체계 수립'(평가기준 2)은 REDD+가 성공할 수 있는 토대이다. '실질적인 온실가스 감축'(평가기준 3)은 REDD+의 궁극적인 목적이고 지역주민 및 원주민의 권리를 보장하고 생물다양성을 보장하는 '안전장치의 보장'(평가기준 4)은 REDD+의 보완적인 목적이자 REDD+ 성공의 토대라 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서 개발한 REDD+ 평가를 위한 기준 및 지표는 인도네시아뿐만 아니라 개도국의 REDD+ 국가 전략을 이해하기 위한 기본 틀을 제공한다.

임도사면 녹화식물뿌리의 인발강도특성에 관한 연구 (Pull-out Strength Characteristics of Revegetation Species Root used for Forest Road Slope)

  • 본 연구는 임도사면 녹화에 주로 사용되는 목 초본 18종에 대한 인발강도특성을 정량적으로 구명하여 환경친화적인 녹색임도의 건설을 위한 적정 녹화식물의 선정시 기초자료로 제공하고자 실시하였다. 17개월동안 성장한 종별 뿌리의 신장한계는 족제비싸리가 34.0 cm로 가장 깊은 것으로 나타났고, 페레니얼라이그라스가 17.7 cm로 가장 얕은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 종별 뿌리의 인발강도는 평균적으로 도입초본 $0.054t/m^2$/본, 재래초본 $0.085t/m^2$/본, 재래목본 $0.649t/m^2$/본으로 나타났으며, 도입초본과 재래초본 간에는 커다란 차이가 없었으나, 초본과 목본 간에는 목본이 약 9배 가량 큰 것으로 나타났다. 또한 녹화식물의 개체수별 평균 뿌리밀도는 도입초본 1.398 ml/본, 재래초본 1.471 ml/본, 재래목본 5.377 ml/본의 순으로 나타났다. 따라서 뿌리에 의한 토양의 고정효과와 토양내 공간이용을 극대화하기 위하여는 침식방지용 초본류와 표층붕괴용 목본류를 혼파하는 것이 바람직할 것이다.

Radial Variation in Selected Wood Properties of Indonesian Merkusii Pine

  • Merkusii pine wood (Pinus merkusii) was extensively planted throughout Indonesia, where it is only indigenous in northern Sumatera, by the Dutch during colonial times. The demand for this wood species, especially in the domestic market, has increased notably, despite its limited durability regarding decay resistance. The purpose of this study was to investigate the occurrence of juvenile and mature wood on merkusii pine and to analyze its radial features from pith to bark based on density, shrinkage, static bending in modulus of rupture and modulus of elasticity, fiber length, microfibril angle, and durability. A segmented modeling approach was used to find the juvenile-mature transition. The graveyard test was performed to characterize the termite resistance from pith to bark of merkusii pine. The maturations were estimated to start at radial increments of 15 cm from the pith by fiber length and of 12 cm from the pith by microfibril angle. The projected figures for the proportion of juvenile wood at breast height were around 65%. The results also indicate that the pine wood was $0.52g/cm^3$ in density, 1.45 in coefficient of anisotropy, which indicates its good stability, 7597 MPa in modulus of elasticity, and 63 MPa in modulus of rupture. Natural durability against subterranean termite of the merkusii pine wood was rated to be grade 4 to 0 from pith to bark. However, after being treated by Entiblu and Enborer preservatives, its rating increased to grade 10 to 9.

거제도(巨濟島) 자생(自生) 붉은고로쇠나무의 수액채취(樹液採取)와 주요성분(主要成分) (Sap Collection and Major Components of Acer mono for. rubripes Native in Geoje)

  • 경남 거제지역에 자생하고 있는 붉은고로쇠나무의 흉고직경급에 따른 수액채취량과 성분을 분석하였다. 붉은고로쇠나무의 수액채취 가능기간은 17일간이었으며, 총수액채취량은 60본에서 193 l이었다. 총수액채취량에 대해 각 20본의 소 중 대경목이 각각 40 l(21%), 49 l(25%), 104 l(54%)가 채취되어 흉고직경이 증가할수록 수액채취량이 많아지는 경향을 나타내었다. 이는 수관폭과 근계발달에 기인하는 것으로 추정된다. 수액채취량은 주야간의 온도격차가 클 때 많은 것으로 나타났다. 붉은고로쇠나무 수액의 pH, 고형분, 당도는 각각 6.5, 2.40%, 1.99%로 측정되었으며, 유리당은 자당 함량이 19.9 g/L가 검출되었으나 포도당, 과당, 맥아당은 검출되지 않았다. 붉은고로쇠나무 수액은 총 7종의 무기성분이 검출되었으며 Ca과 Mg의 함량이 각각 441 mg/l 383 mg/l으로 나타났다.
