SOLVING A SYSTEM OF THE NONLINEAR EQUATIONS BY ITERATIVE DYNAMIC PROGRAMMING

  • In this paper we use iterative dynamic programming in the discrete case to solve a wide range of the nonlinear equations systems. First, by defining an error function, we transform the problem to an optimal control problem in discrete case. In using iterative dynamic programming to solve optimal control problems up to now, we have broken up the problem into a number of stages and assumed that the performance index could always be expressed explicitly in terms of the state variables at the last stage. This provided a scheme where we could proceed backwards in a systematic way, carrying out optimization at each stage. Suppose that the performance index can not be expressed in terms of the variables at the last stage only. In other words, suppose the performance index is also a function of controls and variables at the other stages. Then we have a nonseparable optimal control problem. Furthermore, we obtain the path from the initial point up to the approximate solution.

  • We studied optical properties of SiON thin-film in the applications of optical waveguide. SiON thin-film was grown in $300^{\circ}C$ by PECVD(plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition) system. The change of SiON thin-film composition and refractive Index was studied as a function of varying $NH_3$ gas flow rate. As $NH_3$ gas flow rate was increased, Quantity of N and refractive index were increased at the same time. By the results, we could form the SiON thin-film to use of a waveguide with refractive index of 1.6. We analyzed the conditions of the thin-film with FTIR(fourier transform infrared) and OES (optical emission spectroscopy). N-H bonding($3390cm^{-1}$ ) can be removed by thermal annealing. And we could observe the SiH bonding state and quantity by OES analysis in $SiH_4$

반복 이산 웨이브릿 변환을 이용한 주파수 추정 기법 (Frequency Estimation Technique using Recursive Discrete Wavelet Transform)

  • Power system frequency is the main index of power quality indicating an abnormal state and disturbances of systems. The nominal frequency is deviated by sudden change in generation and load or faults. Power system is used as frequency relay to detection for off-nominal frequency operation and connecting a generator to an electrical system, and V/F relay to detection for an over-excitation condition. Under these circumstances, power system should maintain the nominal frequency. And frequency and frequency deviation should accurately measure and quickly estimate by frequency measurement device. The well-known classical method, frequency estimation technique based on the DFT, could be produce the gain error in accuracy. To meet the requirements for high accuracy, recently Wavelet transforms and analysis are receiving new attention. The Wavelet analysis is possible to calculate the time-frequency analysis which is easy to obtain frequency information of signals. However, it is difficult to apply in real-time implementation because of heavy computation burdens. Nowadays, the computational methods using the Wavelet function and transformation techniques have been searched on these fields. In this paper, we apply the Recursive Discrete Wavelet Transform (RDWT) for the frequency estimation. In order to evaluate performance of the proposed technique, the user-defined arbitrary waveforms are used.

3계 마코프 도착과정의 계수과정과 적률근사 (Counting Process of MAP(3)s and Moment Fittings)

  • Moments of stationary intervals and those of the counting process can be used for moment fittings of the point processes. As for the Markovian arrival processes, the moments of stationary intervals are given as a polynomial function of parameters whereas the moments of the counting process involve exponential terms. Therefore, moment fittings are more complicated with the counting process than with stationary intervals. However, in queueing network analysis, cross-correlation between point processes can be modeled more conveniently with counting processes than with stationary intervals. A Laplace-Stieltjies transform of the stationary intervals of MAP (3)s is recently proposed in minimal number of parameters. We extend the results and present the Laplace transform of the counting process of MAP (3)s. We also show how moments of the counting process such as index of dispersions for counts, IDC, and limiting IDC can be used for moment fittings. Examples of exact MAP (3) moment fittings are also presented on the basis of moments of stationary intervals and those of the counting process.

A Multi-Resolution Approach to Non-Stationary Financial Time Series Using the Hilbert-Huang Transform

  • An economic signal in the real world usually reflects complex phenomena. One may have difficulty both extracting and interpreting information embedded in such a signal. A natural way to reduce complexity is to decompose the original signal into several simple components, and then analyze each component. Spectral analysis (Priestley, 1981) provides a tool to analyze such signals under the assumption that the time series is stationary. However when the signal is subject to non-stationary and nonlinear characteristics such as amplitude and frequency modulation along time scale, spectral analysis is not suitable. Huang et al. (1998b, 1999) proposed a data-adaptive decomposition method called empirical mode decomposition and then applied Hilbert spectral analysis to decomposed signals called intrinsic mode function. Huang et al. (1998b, 1999) named this two step procedure the Hilbert-Huang transform(HHT). Because of its robustness in the presence of nonlinearity and non-stationarity, HHT has been used in various fields. In this paper, we discuss the applications of the HHT and demonstrate its promising potential for non-stationary financial time series data provided through a Korean stock price index.

웨이브렛 전달함수를 이용한 궤도틀림 식별 (Identification of Track Irregularity using Wavelet Transfer Function)

  • 본 연구에서는 웨이브렛 변환을 이용하여 궤도틀림을 식별하는 방법을 제시하였다. 궤도틀림과 대차 가속도응답신호에 의한 등가 웨이브렛 SISO 전달함수를 정의하였다. 현장에 적용되는 검측차의 25cm단위 궤도검측 기준에 맞추어 궤도틀림과 대차가속도 응답신호를 조정하였다. 웨이브렛 변환을 적용하기 전 입력데이터는 웨이브렛 변환 정의 조건에 맞추어 범위를 재조정한 회귀신호이다. 또한, 웨이브렛 역전 달 함수를 정의하여, 궤도틀림을 역 추정하였다. 추정된 궤도틀림과 실제의 궤도틀림의 비교를 위해 상관도와 FRF를 비교 분석하였다. 예측된 값과 기준 값 과의 잔 차의 분산비로 정의되는 틀림지수를 사용하여 궤도틀림의 이상을 분석하였으며, 개발될 알고리즘을 검증하기 위하여 시뮬레이션 연구를 수행하였다.

Power Allocation Method of Downlink Non-orthogonal Multiple Access System Based on α Fair Utility Function

  • The unbalance between system ergodic sum rate and high fairness is one of the key issues affecting the performance of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system. To solve the problem, this paper proposes a power allocation algorithm to realize the ergodic sum rate maximization of NOMA system. The scheme is mainly achieved by the construction algorithm of fair model based on α fair utility function and the optimal solution algorithm based on the interior point method of penalty function. Aiming at the construction of fair model, the fair target is added to the traditional power allocation model to set the reasonable target function. Simultaneously, the problem of ergodic sum rate and fairness in power allocation is weighed by adjusting the value of α. Aiming at the optimal solution algorithm, the interior point method of penalty function is used to transform the fair objective function with unequal constraints into the unconstrained problem in the feasible domain. Then the optimal solution of the original constrained optimization problem is gradually approximated within the feasible domain. The simulation results show that, compared with NOMA and time division multiple address (TDMA) schemes, the proposed method has larger ergodic sum rate and lower Fairness Index (FI) values.

  • 대부분의 2차 및 3차 위상 보간을 사용하는 하모닉 합성 방법은 각각의 정현파 성분에 대해 샘플단위로 합성되기 때문에 구현하는데 있어 많은 연산량이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 2차 및 3차 위상 항을 가지는 정현파 음성 및 오디오 모델을 위한 빠른 하모닉 합성 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 빠른 하모닉 합성 방법은 2차 및 3차 위상함수의 계수를 하모닉과 독립적으로 강요함으로써 오버 샘플링 함수와 위상 변조 함수를 정의하고, Inverse Fast Fourier Transform(IFFT)을 이용한 합성식을 유도한다. 제안한 빠른 하모닉 합성 방법은 연산량과 Segment SNR(Segment Signal-to-Noise Ratio)을 코사인 함수를 이용한 합성 방법과의 비교를 통해 음질의 저하없이 연산량이 현저히 줄어드는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

광역주파수 음향반사자료의 K-L 변환을 이용한 해저면 분류: 지질음향 모델링을 위한 유용한 방법 (Seabed Classification Using the K-L (Karhunen-Lo$\grave{e}$ve) Transform of Chirp Acoustic Profiling Data: An Effective Approach to Geoacoustic Modeling)

  • 광대역 주파수변조(wide-band FM) 선호를 음원으로 사용하는 Chirp sonar 시스템을 이용하여 획득한 음향반사 자료의 통계학적 처리를 통하여 해저면을 분류하였다. 음향학적 분류변수로서 Chirp 자료의 K-L(Karhunen-Lo$\grave{e}$ve) 변환을 이용하여 계산된 유사도 지수(similarity index)를 고안하였다. 유사도 지수는 근접한 트레이스 자료들에 포함된 공통된 반사신호성분의 양을 지시하므로 해저면 퇴적물의 성분에 따른 음향학적 거침도를 반영한다고 할 수 있다. 유사도 지수는 0에서 1사이의 값을 가지며, 각기 다른 퇴적상을 나타내는 지점에서 획득된 Chirp 자료를 처리한 결과, 퇴적물의 성분이 균질할수록, 입자의 크기가 작을수록, 그리고 연한 퇴적층일수록 증가하는 것을 관측할 수 있었다. 실제의 응용 예로서 제주도 성산포 해역을 이 방법으로 분류하였으며, 그 결과를 검증하기 위해 동일해역에서 획득된 side-scan sonar 자료 및 퇴적물로부터 해석된 해저면의 퇴적상과 비교하였다. 그 결과 음향자료의 유사도 지수에 의해 분류된 해저면은 실제의 퇴적상을 매우 잘 반영할 뿐만 아니라 퇴적물 성분의 특성에 따른 음향반응을 더욱 세밀히 나타내었다. 그러므로 이러한 방법은 음향자료로부터 직접 해저면을 분류하는 지질음향 모델링으로서 매우 효과적이다.
