  • The globalized modern society has facilitated the borderless travel which always starts and ends at the airport. The airport now serves the gateway in spreading and delivering the culture, beyond the role of simply providing assistance to the transport means. Nowaday, the nations throughout the world expand the existing facilities or build the new airport competitively as the medium to link the travel and modern community as well as the symbolism of economic and technical improvement and it has been developed as a huge industry creating a high added value, beyond the simple transport services. Incheon International Airport has already been recognized as the world-class airport but still has a long way to go. It's necessary to develop the comprehensive cultural and art concept for sustainable value creation, instead of remaining as the airport with sophisticated facilities alone.

  • 면세점 판매 채널이 다양화되고 스마트 여객 증대 등 쇼핑 성향의 변화로 인해 인천공항 면세점 객단가는 하락하고 있다. 면세점 매출액 감소에 따라 사업 다각화 및 고도화 등 대응 노력이 필요하다. 따라서 인천공항 면세점 이용객의 쇼핑 행태 및 면세점 트렌드 변화에 적기 대응을 위한 기초자료 및 마케팅 강화 방안을 제시하는 데 궁극적인 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 인천공항 면세점 내·외국인 구매자/비구매자, 환승객을 대상으로 쇼핑실태를 심층 조사하여 행동 특성을 분석하였으며, 그 결과 내국인과 외국인, 환승객별로 인구통계학 특성, 여행 특성, 쇼핑 특성에서 차이가 나타났다. 인천공항 면세점 이용객별 중요하게 인지하는 요소와 만족하는 요소를 파악하고 개선할 부분을 파악하였다. 이로써 인천공항 면세점 운영정책 수립 및 기본방향 설정을 위한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있고, 인천공항 면세점 마케팅 강화 및 활성화를 위한 전략 방안을 제시하는 데 의의가 있다.

  • Aircraft parking stand is a place separated by a pavement marking so that aircraft can park in the apron. If there is not an aircraft parking stand available for aircraft just arrived, the aircraft has to wait for a stand becomes empty on taxi lane taxiway, which annoys passengers, and deteriorates the congestion in the airport. Therefore, it is important to provide adequate parking stands in planning process. In this study, we studied the maximum number of aircraft parking stands required in the past, and estimated the future requirements, for Incheon International airport.

  • An Airport is important space and even stands for the country because diverse people from other countries use a variety of facilities in the gateway to the country. Therefore, It is urgent for those people to increase efficiency and convenience of its usage and also. It's worth accumulating those know-how and technologies. In this situation, Incheon International Airport aiming to be a hub of north-east Asia need to focus more on restructuring general process of passenger's travel based on PI perspectives then simply improving a process of passenger's travel and have been trying to realize the process based on Innovation perspectives with following precess innovation consisting 5 steps And to conclude, this study will help Incheon International Airport to be innovative in a system of passenger's travel service related to a utility of airport and then achieve a hub Airport of North-East Asia.

Comparison of Construction Methods with Zoysiagrass at the New Incheon International Airport (인천국제공항 착륙대 녹지지역의 잔디식재를 위한 한국잔디류 시공법 비교)

  • The back-filled soil of the New Incheon International Airport construction site was reclaimed with sea sand in near the Young-Jong island. The primary study was carried out from August 1993 to June 1997 to study soil amendment and to select salt resistance turfgrass species. This study dealt with low maintenance area that included most part of open space of airport site. The second experiment, from October 1996 to August 1998, focused on soil amendment and selection of turfgrass species for alongside runway where turf area was maintained. Through two previous studies, propagation methods with zoysiagrass were tested for alongside runway and surrounding areas at 1998. The study of construction methods with zoysiagrass, vegetative propagation showed better results on visual quality and cover rating compare with seeding propagation. However, significant different between vegetative and seeding propagation was not showed on visual quality and drought tolerance after one year of plot establishment. The cover rating by seeding construction methods reached in excess of 70% of limitation suggested by the Incheon International Airport Cooperation. Zoysia net and sprigging net methods were the most suitable where there requires rapid and high rate of ground cover. Seeding propagation should be acceptable to obtain a resonable cover rating where there allows relatively longer period of completion. Therefore, it should be possible to attain a proper rating of ground cover on the site of open space, alongside runway or areas similar to the New Incheon International Airport which is being built on dredged seashore sand. However, the methods of soil amendment, selecting salt tolerance species, and proper construction procedure should be considered at the a time.

The Effect of Applying the X-ray Screening Ability Rating for Security Screening Persons in Incheon International Airport (인천국제공항 보안검색요원 X-ray 판독등급제 적용 효과)

  • The purpose of this study verify to the effect of applying the X-ray screening ability rating for security screening persons in Incheon International Airport. Data collected through a evaluation score of 1,034 security screening persons in Incheon International Airport. Data analysis performed using paired sample t-test. The research results found that it was a statistically significant difference pre-test and post-test applying the X-ray screening ability rating. In this article, we asserts that the X-ray screening ability rating is effective in improving the X-ray screening ability of security screening persons. This paper contribute to the academic expansion of motivation theory and self-determination theory. This study is valuable as a preemptive empirical research that provides practical implications about the application of X-ray screening ability rating for security screening persons.

  • IATA is playing a central role in the process of changing the international technical standards of common-use system which supports the airport check-in and boarding business in conjunction with the airline systems from CUTE to CUPPS. IATA expects that if the airport common-use system is changed to CUPPS, the development and maintenance costs related to the airline's common-use system can be reduced by the implementation of the standard interface about check-in and boarding business-related equipment and the certification of airline applications. Incheon International Airport is in the face of stiff competition with major Northeast Asian Airports to attract more airlines. To be more competitive than other airports, switching over to CUPPS is vital for airline's cost-saving effect. This study builds on CUPPS international technical standards and suggests design and implementation plans of Incheon International Airport's component-based next-generation common use passenger processing systems to support the various functions of user's requirements.

  • 본 논문에서는 인천공항 Airside와 Landside에 위치한 자산의 효율적인 관리를 위한 사물인터넷(IoT) 기반 스마트 자산관리 시스템의 구성과 실증을 제시한다. IoT기반 스마트 자산관리시스템은 위치정보를 생성하는 IoT 태그와 게이트웨이, 수집된 위치정보를 수신하고 표출하는 서버로 구성되어 있으며, IoT 태그를 자산에 부착하여 자산의 실내외 위치정보를 자산관리 시스템에서 실시간으로 확인할 수 있다. 실내 위치정보는 BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy)를 통해 취득하며, 실외 위치정보는 GPS와 LoRa(Long Range)를 통해 취득 가능하다. 개발한 시스템의 성능 검증을 위해 인천공항 제1여객터미널 내 기설치된 AP를 활용하였으며, 공항 전역을 커버할 수 있는 LoRa Gateway를 설치하였다. 개발한 자산관리 시스템은 공항이 보유한 자산의 도난 방지 등 효율적인 관리 와 공항운영에 기여할 것으로 예상된다.

  • Demand for air transportation in Korea keeps increasing, and the number of airport operations also grows as a result. The major two airports in Korea, Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport, share the metropolitan airspace, which is crowd with air traffic. As air traffic increases in the metropolitan airspace, the demand for the airport operations would outnumber the capacities of these airports. However, there is a room to efficiently manage the shortage of the airport capacity due to the different distributions of operations in these airports. This study presents a dynamic slot allocation that allows exchanging slots according to the traffic demand. The dynamic allocation mitigates the airports' capacity problem but the airspace capacity itself should be increased in order to tackle the problem fundamentally.

  • To prepare for the ever-increasing demand for air transport, airport operators should be well aware of the timing of the saturation of the facility and increase the capacity of the airport through extension or extension. The capacity of an airport is determined by the smallest value of the facilities that make up the airport, but it is generally customary to determine the capacity of the costly and time-consuming runway as a whole for the airport. For analyzing the capacity of the runway capacity, the study used the most accurate microscopic air traffic simulation, Simmod-PRO, to analyze the saturation time of three runways currently in Incheon International Airport's operation, and calculate the appropriate time for operation of the 4th runway. The study also calculate the relocation of Airport's high-speed exit taxiway for analyzing the increasing of capacity.
