Analysis of a force reconstruction problem

  • This article deals with the reconstruction of an impact force. This requires to take measurements from the impacted structures and then to deconvolve those signals from the impulse response function. More precisely, the purpose of the work described here is to analyse the method of deconvolution and the problems that it implies. Thus, it is highlighted that the associated deconvolution problem depends on the location of the measurement points: it is possible or not to reconstruct the force of impact in function of the location of this point. Then, the role of the antiresonances is linked up with this problem. The singular value decomposition is used to understand these difficulties. Numerical predictions are compared and validated with experiments.

  • For the identification of the 3 dimensional dynamic characteristics of the Bongjeong Temple, the dynamic test for 1/3 scaled model was performed. Dynamic test with impulse excitation and vibration table excitation can provide useful data for the estimation of dynamic characteristics such as natural frequencies, damping ratios, mode shapes and stiffness center. This will complement the previous research from the 2-dimensional static test and provide the reference data for the enhanced structural analysis of the traditional wooden structures.

  • We use a structural vector error correction model of the labor market to investigate the effect of shocks to Korean unemployment. We associate technology, labor demand, labor supply, and wage-setting shocks with equations for productivity, employment, unemployment, and real wages, respectively. Subsequently, labor demand and supply shocks have significant long-run and contemporaneous effects on unemployment, respectively.

  • The time simulation of motion responses of dolphin-moored BMP in waves is presented. The equation of motion based on Cummin's theory of impulse responses are employed, and solved in time domain by using the Newmark $\beta$ method. The hydrodynamic coefficient and first order wave exciting forces involved in the equations are obtained from a three-dimensional panel method in the frequency domain. The second order wave drift forces and mooring for dolphin system are taken into account. As for numerical example, time domain analysis are carried out for a BMP in irregular wave condition.

  • The wafer positioning robot in the semiconductor industry is required to operate at high speed for the improvement of productivity. The residual vibration caused by the high speed of the wafer positioning robot, however, makes the life of the robot shorter and the cycle time longer. In this study, the input shaping and the path of the system are designed for the reduction of the residual vibration and the improvement of the cycle time. The followings are the process for the reduction and the improvement; 1) System modeling of the wafer positioning robot, 2) Verification of dynamic characteristics of the wafer positioning robot, 3) Input shaping plan using impulse response reiteration, 4) Simulation test using SIMULINK program, 5) Analysis of result.

  • Power line communication channels are very complicated and models for communication channels vary with the types of electrical equipment, devices and load fluctuations. So, modeling and analysis of power line channels for implementation of power line communication systems is a very important process. Power line channel modeling and simulation are performed based on power system transient simulation models and power system CAD tools to create precise and accurate models. In this paper, a channel modeling and simulation method is proposed for power line communication systems using PSCAD/EMTDC, in which a PN 63 sequence code generator is applied for impulse response of the power line channel in the simulation model.

  • In this paper, a new time-domain reduction method for unbalanced 3 phase power systems will be represented. The impulse response of the system is used to identify a discrete-time equivalent filter model. The model is formulated directly in the phase domain. Each phase has a self-mode equivalent model and two mutual-mode equivalent models. The equivalent model is determined by the transfer function identification technique based on the Prony analysis. The model is implemented in EMTDC and tested with an unbalanced 3 phase network. The result of test showed that the equivalent model is accurate.

  • 현대 사회는 급속한 기술의 발전으로 인하여 공상과학영화에서나 볼 수 있었던 첨단 기술들이 실생활에서 구현되어지고 있다. 이러한 첨단기술 중 하나였던 뇌를 이용하여 각종 인터페이스를 제어하는 기술인 BCI 및 BMI 기술이 각광을 받고 있다. 이러한 기술들은 EEG 신호의 취득 및 분석 기술이 발전하면서 많은 발전을 이루었고 앞으로도 그 발전 가능성은 무궁무진하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 기술의 실현을 위해 획득된 뇌파 신호를 분석하여 기계장치를 제어 할 수 있도록 데이터의 처리 방법을 제안하였다. 이러한 데이터 처리 방법으로는 Fir(Finite impulse response)필터링과 ICA알고리즘의 구현, FFT 분석을 통한 주파수별 전력분포 계산의 과정이 있다. 이러한 과정 등을 통해 피검자가 원하는 EEG 데이터를 얻을 수 있게 된다.

A Simple Feed-forward Active Control Method for the Shock Response of a Flexible Beam: Experiments and Its Performance Analysis (유연보의 충격응답에 대한 단순 피드포워드 능동제어 실험 및 성능분석)

  • Active control method is applied to a flexible beam excited by a shock impulse in order to reduce the residual vibrations after the shock event. It is assumed that the shock input can be measured and is always occurred on the same point of the beam. If the system is well identified and the corresponding inverse system is designed reliably, it has shown that a very simple feed-forward active control method may be applied to suppress the residual vibrations without using error sensors and adaptive algorithm. Both numerical simulations and experimental results show a promising Possibility of applying to a practical problem. Also, the performance of the method is examined by considering various practical aspects : shock duration, shock magnitude, and control point.
