유사성 계수를 이용한 군집화 문제에서 유전자와 국부 최적화 알고리듬의 적용 (Application of Genetic and Local Optimization Algorithms for Object Clustering Problem with Similarity Coefficients)

  • Object clustering, which makes classification for a set of objects into a number of groups such that objects included in a group have similar characteristic and objects in different groups have dissimilar characteristic each other, has been exploited in diverse area such as information retrieval, data mining, group technology, etc. In this study, an object-clustering problem with similarity coefficients between objects is considered. At first, an evaluation function for the optimization problem is defined. Then, a genetic algorithm and local optimization technique based on heuristic method are proposed and used in order to obtain near optimal solutions. Solutions from the genetic algorithm are improved by local optimization techniques based on object relocation and cluster merging. Throughout extensive experiments, the validity and effectiveness of the proposed algorithms are tested.

  • In this paper, we proposed a modofied genetic algorithm to minimize misclassification rate for determining the codebook. Genetic algorithms are adaptive methods which may be used solve search and optimization problems based on the genetic processes of biological organisms. But they generally require a large amount of computation efforts. GAVQ can choose the optimal individuals by genetic operators. The position of individuals are optimized to improve the recognition rate. The technical properties of this study is that prevents us from the local minimum problem, which is not avoidable by conventional VQ algorithms. We compared the simulation result with Matlab using phoneme data. The simulation results show that the recognition rate from GAVQ is improved by comparing the conventional VQ algorithms.

유전 알고리즘의 연산처리를 통한 개선된 경로 탐색 기법 (Improved Route Search Method Through the Operation Process of the Genetic Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 제안한 알고리즘은 이전 유전 알고리즘의 분산처리를 위해 라우터 그룹 단위인 셀을 도입하였다. 셀 단위로 유전 알고리즘을 시행하여 전체 네트워크의 탐색 지연시간을 줄이는 방법을 제시하였다. 실험을 통하여 기존 유전 알고리즘과의 성능 분석에 대한 결과는 비용면에서나 지연시간면에서 제안한 알고리즘이 우위에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 기존 최적경로 알고리즘인 Dijkstra 알고리즘에서 네트워크가 손상되었을 경우 제안한 알고리즘에는 대체 경로 설정의 연산시간이 단축되었으며 손상된 네트워크의 셀 안에서 2순위의 경로를 가지고 있으므로 Dijkstra 알고리즘보다 신속하게 대체경로를 설정하도록 설계되었다. 이는 제안한 알고리즘이 네트워크상에서 Dijkstra 알고리즘이 손상되었을 경우 대체 경로설정을 보완할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

개선된 부분 초기화 유전자 앨거리즘을 이용한 광대역 전파 흡수체 최적 설계 (Design of a Broad-band Electromagnetic Absorber Using the Improved Partial Initialization Genetic Algorithm)

  • The broadband EM absorbers composed of dielectrics and magnetic materials are designed. The performance of the partial initialization genetic algorithm(PIGA) is improved with three factors such as partial initialization ratios, initialization starting points and scale factors. At the frequency range over 3∼10 GHz, the optimized electromagnetic absorbers designed by using the improved PIGA. The design results obtained by enhanced PIGA's are superior to that of the using GA presented by E. Michielssen with regard to the total depth of composite materials, the depth of magnetics and maximum reflection coefficients.

Efficient Elitist Genetic Algorithm for Resource-Constrained Project Scheduling

  • This research study presents the development and application of an Elitist Genetic Algorithm (Elitist GA) for solving the resource-constrained project scheduling problem, which is one of the most challenging problems in construction engineering. Main features of the developed algorithm are that the elitist roulette selection operator is developed to preserve the best individual solution for the next generation so as to obtain the improved solution, and that parallel schedule generation scheme is used to generate a feasible solution to the problem. The experimental results on standard problem sets indicate that the proposed algorithm not only produces reasonably good solutions to the problems over the heuristic method and other GA, but also can find the optimal and/or near optimal solutions for the large-sized problems with multiple resources within a reasonable amount of time that will be applicable to the construction industry. This paper will help researchers and/or practitioners in the construction project scheduling software area with alternative means to find the optimal schedules by utilizing the advantages of the Elitist GA.

  • In electrical impedance tomography (EIT), the internal resistivity distribution of the unknown object is computed using the boundary voltage data induced by different current patterns using various reconstruction algorithms. This paper presents a new image reconstruction algorithm based on the genetic algorithm (GA) via a two-step approach for the solution of the EIT inverse problem, in particular for the reconstruction of "static" images. The computer simulation for the 32 channels synthetic data shows that the spatial resolution of reconstructed images in the proposed scheme is improved compared to that of the modified Newton-Raphson algorithm at the expense of an increased computational burden.rden.

  • This paper presents a new approach on genetic on genetic algorithm to economic dispatch problem for valve point discontinuities. Proposed approach in this paper on genetic algorithms improves the performance to solve economic dispatch problem for valve point discontivuities through improved death penalty method, generation-apart elitism, atavism and sexual selection with sexual distinction. Numerical results on a test system consisting of 13 thermal units show that the proposed approach is faster, more robust and powerful than conventional genetic algorithms.

직접탐색을 이용한 유전자 알고리즘에 의한 RC 프레임의 최적설계 (Integrated Genetic Algorithm with Direct Search for Optimum Design of RC Frames)

  • 이 논문에서는 철근콘크리트 프레임 구조물을 대상으로 직접탐색기법을 도입하여 보다 개선된 유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 최적설계 기법을 제안하고 있다. 먼저 유전자 알고리즘을 이용하여 다양한 초기 가정 단면을 발생시키고, 이로부터 도출되는 각 설계 부재력 조건에 대해 미리 구성한 설계 단면 데이터베이스(DB)를 기반으로 회귀분석과 직접탐색을 이용하여 최적해를 도출한 후 여러 세대에 걸쳐 누적된 결과로부터 전역 최적해(global minimum)를 선택하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 일반적인 유전자 알고리즘만을 이용할 경우 전역 최적해에 도달하기까지 수렴성이 떨어져서 그 결과 해의 적합도(Fitness)가 저하되는 단점을 보완하여 빠른 수렴성과 함께 최종해의 경제성에서도 향상된 결과를 보인다. 또한, 작용 하중 조건 하에서 전 부재가 최대의 효율로 저항함으로써 보다 경제적인 설계가 되도록 하기 위하여 비선형 해석을 수행하여 도출된 부재력을 바탕으로 설계 단면을 결정하였으며, 제안된 알고리즘을 예제 구조물에 적용하여 그 효율성을 검증하였다.

  • The H$_{\infty}$ algorithms of the mixed weight sensitivity is used for the robust design of the reactor power control system. The mixed weight sensitivity method requires the selection of the proper weighting functions for the loop shaping in frequency domain. The complexity of the system equation and the non-convexity of the problem make it very difficult to determine the weighting functions. The genetic algorithm which is improved and hybridized with the simulated annealing is applied to determine the weighting functions. This approach permits an automatic calculation and the resultant system shows good robustness and performance.

  • According to the recent demand for materials for use in various displays and solid state lightings, new phosphors with improved performance have been pursued consistently. Multi objective genetic algorithm assisted combinatorial material search (MOGACMS) strategies have been applied to various multi-compositional inorganic systems to search for new phosphors and to optimize the properties of phosphors.
