  • This research tests the effects of institutional pressures, the use of performance measurement systems and accountability, and moderation effects of human resource capability between institutional pressures and the use of performance measurement systems in the Local Government institutions in Indonesia. The research aims to provide empirical evidence both quantitatively and qualitatively that isomorphism institutional pressures occurred in the scope of implementation of the performance measurement system and accountability in the public sector organizations and to show the importance of human resource capability enhancement in reducing external pressure impact. In addition, it tries to develop the correlation model of institutional pressures, human resource capability, implementation of the performance measurement system, and accountability of public sector organizations. The research used mixed methods with sequential explanatory design. The data collection used surveys and interviews in 209 regency/Special Region of Yogyakarta and Central Java local governments as samples. The research result indicated that the institutionalization process of the performance measurement is influenced by institutional pressures, especially coercive and mimetic pressures. Human resource capability was unable to weaken institutional pressures effects in the performance measurement system implementation. • Over the last few years Total Quality Management (TQM) programs have hem widely adapted by Korean manufacturing firms to improve their productivity, competitive edge and product quality levels. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the level of importance placed on four key TQM factors (customer satisfaction, strong management leadership, continuous improvement, imployee involvement and participation) used during the implementation of korean manufacturing TQM programs and to assess the effectiveness of those key factors in improving the performance of the firms. A Questionaire was developed and sent to senior managers in manufacturing organizations throughout korea. This survey asked qustions regarding 1) the firm's business environment and TQM program development 2) subcomponents of the key factors and 3) the effectiveness of the TQM program at improving the performance of the organization. The survey data were analyzed to determine the degree of correlation between each of the factors and the effectiveness of the TQM programs. This study demonstrated that the TQM programs were instrumental at improving the performance of the firms studied, and that the improvement was positively correlated with the length of time that the program had been implemented and the planned duration of the TQM program implementation. It was found that the person-oriented elements of management leadership and employee involvement were positively correlated and predictive of the success of the TQM Program, while the process-oriented components of customer satisfaction and employee involvement were not useful predictors of the effectiveness of the TQM program implementation.

  • Currently, many companies are interested in (Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Nonetheless, technical imperfection and the uncertainty of Return on Investment (ROD is discouraging the companies' intention to implement RFID. Accordingly, while a number of companies concede the efficiency of RFID, few of them expresses enthusiasm, making a rain check to adopt RFID. Moreover, the recent economic depression has down-sized the companies' investment on Information Technology (IT), subsequently hindering RFID implementation. In adopting RFID, the collaboration of supply chain is the most importance factor. Therefore, in implementing RFID, many companies reinforced collaboration of supply chain. Therefore, this study will focus on performing an analysis on several factors which influence the intention to adoption of RFID, such as the human factor, technology factor, vender factor and task factor. The results of this study will provide useful guidelines for RFID adoption strategy to Korean companies.

  • This study aims at examining kinetic efficient shading systems and their implementation methods. These days, the importance of the shading devices are getting more significant due to the energy problem. Cordially, suitable shade designs are required as an important element for the exterior envelope of the building. This study employs the optimal shading design as an efficient shading method with the kinetic system that can be converted actively by the altitude of the sun. The proposed kinetic shading system works not only as a lightshelf in case the altitude of the sun is high but also as a vertical louver when the sun is getting lower in order to block the direct sunlight. This study has analyzed the thermal performance and shading coefficient of the kinetic shading system in comparison to existing fixed shading devices using the Ecotect. The results, in sum, conclude that the suggested kinetic shading system could decrease direct sunlights 26.2% more than the existing shading methods.

  • The implementation of ESG practices in the fashion industry has been accelerating, and its significance has been growing across all industries. This paper aims to examine the strategies for ESG implementation in domestic fashion brands and analyze how ESG principles are applied in the context of domestic conscious fashion. To analyze conscious fashion as a means of ESG implementation, the evaluation criteria of ESG from the Textile Fashion Policy Research Institute were utilized as analytical tools. As a result, five categories of domestic conscious fashion emerged: animal-free vegan fashion, eco-friendly plant-based vegan materials, upcycled fashion, regenerated fiber fashion utilizing waste materials, and fair trade fashion. The characteristics of these ESG practices in conscious fashion were identified with four key features. Firstly, the adoption of environmentally friendly materials demonstrates a tendency towards resource conservation, minimizing environmental degradation, and protecting ecosystems. Secondly, technology-driven circular practices are predominant in vegan and upcycled types, evident in the development of fashion materials and secondhand content. Thirdly, design practices based on scarcity incorporate characteristics of upcycling and fair trade. Lastly, the practices of social and ethical values underlie the philosophies of three types of conscious fashion. With the acceleration of ESG practices in the fashion industry and the increasing importance thereof, it is expected that domestic conscious fashion in South Korea will diversify in the future.

  • While the ever-increasing complexity of automotive software systems can be effectively managed through the adoption of a reliable real-time operating system (RTOS), it may incur additional resource usage to a resultant system. Due to the mass production nature of the automotive industry, reducing physical resources used by automotive software is of the utmost importance for cost reduction. OSEK OS is an automotive real-time kernel standard specifically defined to address this issue. Thus, it is very important to develop and exploit kernel mechanisms such that they can achieve minimal resource usage in the OSEK OS implementation. In this paper, we analyze the task subsystem, resource subsystem, application mode and conformance classes of OSEK OS as well as the OSEK Implementation Language (OIL). Based on our analysis, we in turn devise and implement kernel mechanisms to minimize the dynamic memory usage of the OSEK OS implementation. Finally, we show that our mechanisms effectively reduce the memory usage of OSEK OS and applications.

  • As distributed computing systems become popular, many modeling techniques and methods have been developed in specify the specification formally and verify the distributed/concurrent sytems. In spite of importance of communication in distributed object-oriented systems, specifying of communication method generally has not been emphasized in the design phase. One reason is due to the system designer misunderstanding, that is, a specification needs to be independent on the implementation. However, since defining communication pattern indistributed object-oriented systems is more serious than the required message passing method in the design phase. specifying the communication pattern is necessary instead of postponing until the implementation. In this paper, two formal specification techniques, temporal logic method and Petri nets method, for the communication in distributed systems are discussed. One is based on the temporal logic, which specifies the different patterns of primitive predicates. This method enable to define the underlying mechanism which can be interpreted as constraints. The Petri net method helps to specify the dynamic behavior of communicational patterns using the properties of Petri nets.

  • Only a few researchers highlighted the implementation of Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certification. These neglected the importance of analyzing the different trajectories of the relations of production in Indonesian palm oil development. As a result, there is a prevailing doubtful attitude on ISPO legitimation. This paper aims to identify how independent smallholder pilot projects give meaning to ISPO legitimation and implementation. It explores production relations in a smallholder community, focusing on land ownership, the formation of a cooperative, and response capability in cases of failure. This paper reveals that the project brought greater understanding to the community with regards to sustainability, as well as strengthened cooperation between the company and the cooperative. This, despite the community's confronting the same problems of land legality as other independent farmers, as the community is located inside the company concession (Hak Guna Usaha, HGU).
