Optimal conditions of 40 Gbps RZ format for implementation of optical time division multiplexing/wavelength division multiplexing (OTDM/WDM) transmission system are induced by analyzing and comparing performance depending on duty cycle and extinction ratio (ER). Optical phase conjugator (OPC) and inline dispersion management (DM) are applied into optical transmission links for compensating signal distortion due to chromatic dispersion and nonlinearity of fiber. It is confirmed that RZ format of 0.25 duty cycle is less effected by system performance change depending on ER and it is suitable for multiplexing to 160 Gbps signal through OTDM. Also, it is shown that performance improvement of RZ format determined by same net residual dispersion (NRD) is more increased as residual dispersion per span (RDPS) becomes large.

In order to resolve problems with the phase error in QPSK demodulator of the digital satellite broadcasting systems, the demodulator requires carrier recovery loop which searches for the frequency and phase of the carrier. In this paper the complexity of implementation is reduced by the reduction into half of the number of the multiplier in Inter structure of the conventional carrier recovery loop, and as the drawback of NCO of the conventional carrier recovery loop wastes a amount of power for the structure of lookup table, We designed the structure of combinational logic without the lookup table. In the comparison with dynamic power of the proposed NCO, the power of NCO with the lookup table is $175{\mu}W$, NCO with the proposed structure is $24.65{\mu}W$. As the result, it is recognized that about one eight of loss power is reduced. In the simulation of carrier recovery loop designed QPSK demodulator, it is known that the carrier phase is compensated.

As technologies evolve, 3D measurement techniques using cameras have been developed continuously. In 3D measurement, high accuracy, fast speed, and easy implementation are very important factors. Recently, 3D measurement using multi-frequency fringes has been widely used. This method is generally a method of measuring the height of a image obtained by projecting a sine wave through the projector. The sine wave is produced by software. However, this sine wave is not a perfect sine wave by gamma of projector. This is given a bad influence on the height measurement, and can not measure the correct height. In this paper, we propose a method for correcting the phase of the sine wave to avoid being affected gamma. Through this method it will be able to make more accurate height measurement.
Purpose - This paper attempts to compare five free trade agreements with gender chapters ratified by Chile and Canada and derives lessons for Korea in terms of gender-aware trade policy. While Chile and Canada have three and two FTAs with gender chapter respectively, Korea has none so far, although it has already ratified an FTA with the two countries. Design/methodology - This study first investigates all the gender-provisions with the gender chapters, conducts a comparative analysis on the five chapters as well as a case study of one target FTA's implementation and achievements, and finally suggests policy implications for Korea's trade administration as well as trade-related agencies. Findings - According to the analysis, there are three phases in terms of advancement in gender-related trade policy. As Chile is in phase two and Canada is in phase three, Korea remains in phase one. It has a ministry related to gender within the government, but not within the OMT. It has statistics on female business, but not of women traders. It has a few gender-related provisions in its FTAs, but not a gender chapter. In this sense, new mandates related to gender-aware trade policy for OMT, KITA, and KOTRA should be provided to realize the concrete economic benefits resulting from empowering women traders and policies promoting them. Originality/value - Existing studies only focus on introducing gender-related international commitments and Korea's participation in them. This paper is the first attempt to compare actual gender chapters of five FTAs ratified by two countries with the most advanced gender chapters in the world. To gain benefits from the positive gender impact of trade agreements, negotiating and signing gender responsive FTA with future partners is one of the most efficient, as well as inclusive, trade policies urgently needed for Korea.
A common core network is the one of main architectural principles in 3GPP 5G System which has common interfaces with different multiple accesses. 3GPP 5G System Phase 1 (Release 15) supports Untrusted Non-3GPP access as well as 3GPP access with common interfaces. Non-3GPP Interworking Function (N3IWF) has been defined to interface with a UE and a core network for supporting Untrusted Non-3GPP access in 3GPP Release 15. However, interworking with Trusted Non-3GPP access is under study to be completed in 3GPP 5G System Phase 2 (Release 16). Therefore, this paper proposes a Trusted Non-3GPP access network architecture and related signaling procedures, and then the implementation based on the proposal shows how to interwork between Trusted Non-3GPP access and the 5G core network. In our proposal, N3IWF can interwork with either Untrusted or Trusted Non-3GPP access without any architectural modification or addition of 3GPP 5G system Phase 1.
This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that influenced the construction of London Eye which was led by private groups, including characteristics in progress, differentiated value in design, the combination of technology and design, and construction costs. The results of this study were the followings. 1) London Eye provides a new construction method for a landmark in the downtown in that the architects became the clients of the project which might have been hoarded, procuring the construction costs and completing it by themselves. 2) London Eye presents a space utilization method where undeveloped spaces in the downtown are used in three-dimensions by erecting a structure on the river with a minimum land. 3) The process of design, production and erection is propelled the realization of technical intention design with one system and from at the initial stage, the participation of the engineer where the designer is equal with you must accompany. 4) London Eye is endowed with strong shape by a circle in design concept, which is the simplest geometrical figure, and it provides organic relationship between the past and the present by utilizing historical elements in various ways. 5) The construction was completed through four phases including idea phase, promotion phase, turn-key contract phase, and design-build phase. The most critical factor to the success is derived from the direct contact with Involved companies from the production phase. 6) In a project facing many challenges in terms of technology, the design-build method proves to be a more effective method than turn-key contract in that it may more allocate risks and enable coherent implementation of the core concept in design. The organization for the design-build method was composed of three phases including general affairs, responsible contracting by sector, and cooperative system by sector. Since that was a new concept structure, high-level contractors who hadn't had existing cooperative relationships with one another formed new cooperative relationship, while collaborating companies who had long cooperated led the responsible contracting and sub-cooperative system, which resulted in reduction of risks and time. 7) The major factors to change design were the design characteristics, derived from a technically great combination, and the opening time. 8) A new erection method was applied to London Eye, a structure that overcame the limitation in land and period, and the process of installation demonstrated that it is an important value for the construction of a landmark in the city. 9) In spite of many visitors and tremendous operational income, the factors that London Eye fails to free itself from debts include the construction costs expended double than expected, and interest burden to the investments, which occurred in the course of procuring the costs. Absolute limit in time increased the construction costs, resulting in being a great obstacle in the course of operation.

In underwater robotics, vision would be a key element for recognition in underwater environments. However, due to turbidity an underwater optical camera is rarely available. An underwater imaging sonar, as an alternative, delivers low quality sonar images which are not stable and accurate enough to find out natural objects by image processing. For this, artificial landmarks based on the characteristics of ultrasonic waves and their recognition method by a shape matrix transformation were proposed and were proven in Part 1. But, this is not working properly in undulating and dynamically noisy sea-bottom. To solve this, we propose a framework providing a selection phase of likelihood candidates, a selection phase for final candidates, recognition phase and tracking phase in sequence images, where a particle filter based selection mechanism to eliminate fake candidates and a mean shift based tracking algorithm are also proposed. All 4 steps are running in parallel and real-time processing. The proposed framework is flexible to add and to modify internal algorithms. A pool test and sea trial are carried out to prove the performance, and detail analysis of experimental results are done. Information is obtained from tracking phase such as relative distance, bearing will be expected to be used for control and navigation of underwater robots.

In the APON(ATM Passive Optical Network), the transmission of the upstream traffic is based on a TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) method that an OLT(Optical Line Termination) permits ONUs(Optical Network Units) sending cells by allocating time slots. Because the upstream is not a streaming mode, the cell synchronizer has to be operated in the burst mode. Also, the cell phase monitor is required to prevent collisions between cells which are transmitted by multiple ONUs through a single optical fiber. In this paper, a TDMA burst cell synchroniser is implemented with the FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) being used in the APON based on G.983.1 for transmitting upstream cells. It has two main functions which are the upstream data recovery and the phase monitoring. The former is to recover the upstream data and clock in the OLT by seeking the preamble which is the overhead of the upstream time slot and by aligning the phase of the bit and cell with the system clock. The latter is to provide the information to the ONU to compensate for the equalization delay by monitoring continuously the phase difference between adjacent cells to avoid the cell collision on the upstream.

As a tiered system of supports, School-Wide Positive Behavior Support (SWPBS) is an evidence-based practice in the educational system of Korea. An important aspect of SWPBS is the ongoing progress monitoring and evaluation of implementation fidelity. This study aimed to develop and validate the Korean Tier 3 School-Wide Positive Behavior Support Implementation Fidelity Checklist (KT3-FC). The preliminary KT3-FC consisted of a 37-item, 6-factor checklist. In the first phase of the study, 10 experts reported that the range of content validity of the KT3-FC was adequate. In the second phase of the study, 185 teachers (52 men and 133 women) who implemented SWPBS completed the KT3-FC, Individualized Supports Questionnaire, School Climate Questionnaire, School Discipline Practice Scale, and PBS Effectiveness Scale. An exploratory factor analysis resulted in a 5-factor structure, with 20 items, instead of 37 items, consisting of: (a) progress monitoring and evaluation of the individualized supports, (b) provision of supports by aligning and integrating mental health and SWPBS, (c) crisis management planning, (d) problem behavior assessment, and (e) establishment of individualized support team. The internal consistency of the KT3-FC was good (full scale α = .950, sub-factor α = .888 ~ .954). In addition, the KT3-FC showed good convergent validity, having statistically significant correlations with the Individualized Support Questionnaire, School Climate Questionnaire, School Discipline Practice Scale, and the PBS Effectiveness Scale. Finally, the confirmatory factor analysis showed that the 5-factor model of the KT3-FC had some good model fits, indicating that the newly developed fidelity measure could be a reliable and valid tool to assess the implementation of Tier 3 supports in Korean schools. Accordingly, the KT3-FC could contribute to implement SWPBS as an evidence-based behavioral intervention for Korean students.

The IFSAR technique using SAR data has various applications and is the only latest technology to produce high precision height information from the radar phase data. This paper describes the whole implementation algorithm of IFSAR technique. Also it suggests the algorithms for azimuth aliasing resolution and interferogram generation of SAR data. Those are proved through the experiment: azimuth aliasing is resolved and interferogram is generated properly. Therefore, it proposes the method for interferogram generation, an essential process in extracting high precision height data, and the development approach to principal modules of IFSAR algorithm.
