Future climate change may affect the hydro-thermal and biogeochemical characteristics of dam reservoirs, the most important water resources in Korea. Thus, scientific projection of the impact of climate change on the reservoir environment, factoring uncertainties, is crucial for sustainable water use. The purpose of this study was to predict the future water temperature and stratification structure of the Soyanggang Reservoir in response to a total of 42 scenarios, combining two climate scenarios, seven GCM models, one surface runoff model, and three wind scenarios of hydrodynamic model, and to quantify the uncertainty of each modeling step and scenario. Although there are differences depending on the scenarios, the annual reservoir water temperature tended to rise steadily. In the RCP 4.5 and 8.5 scenarios, the upper water temperature is expected to rise by 0.029 ℃ (±0.012)/year and 0.048 ℃ (±0.014)/year, respectively. These rise rates are correspond to 88.1 % and 85.7 % of the air temperature rise rate. Meanwhile, the lower water temperature is expected to rise by 0.016 ℃ (±0.009)/year and 0.027 ℃ (±0.010)/year, respectively, which is approximately 48.6 % and 46.3 % of the air temperature rise rate. Additionally, as the water temperatures rises, the stratification strength of the reservoir is expected to be stronger, and the number of days when the temperature difference between the upper and lower layers exceeds 5 ℃ increases in the future. As a result of uncertainty quantification, the uncertainty of the GCM models showed the highest contribution with 55.8 %, followed by 30.8 % RCP scenario, and 12.8 % W2 model.
This study analyzed the performance of smoke exhaustion installed to secure the life safety from the smoke each opening modes, as performing the simulation on the Jeju regions generating to strong windy using CONTAM. We assessed the effectiveness of the system under conditions of high external winds as well as an ambient wind conditions. It also assessed the relative effectiveness of opening all vents versus opening only those vents which served rooms in which the fire was located. This study revealed external winds exerted a substantial impact on the performance of the smoke ventilation system. It was found that opening the ventilation system in the room containing the fire resulted in a greater performance than opening vents in both fire in all rooms. The reduced performance of the smoke ventilation system upon the opening of all vents is thought to be due to the intrusion of outside air, and the establishment of unfavorable air circulation, caused by the negative pressure generated in the building.

Geographic Information System has extended to higher assessment of water resources. GIS linking with hydrological model becomes a trend in water resource assessment modeling. One of the most popular models is SWAT2000 which have effectiveness in multi-purpose processes for predicting the impact of land management practices on water, sediments and chemicals yields in large complex watershed with varying soils, land uses, and management conditions over long period of time. In this study, SWAT2000 model was applied to Gap stream watershed in Daejeon city where TMDL (Total Maximum Daily Load) Regulation would be implanted. The Gap Stream watershed was partitioned into 8 subbasins, however, only 3 out of 8 subbaisns were observed for having practical gauged data on the basis of streamflow from the year of 2002 to 2005. Gauged streamflow data of Indong, Boksu and Hoeduck stations were used for calibration and validation of the SWAT Streamflow simulation. Estimation Efficiency Analysis (COE), Regression Analysis ($R^{2}$), Relative Error (R.E.) were used for comparing observed streamflow data of the 3 subbasins on the daily and monthly basis with estimated streamflow data in order to fix optimized parameters for the best fitted results. COE value for the daily and monthly streamflow was ranged from 0.45 to 0.96. $R^{2}$ values for daily and monthly streamflow ranged from 0.51 to 0.97. R.E. values for total streamflow volume ranged from 3 % to 22.5 %. The accuracy of the model results shows that the SWAT2000 model can be applicable to Korean watersheds like the Gap Stream watershed that needs to be partitioned into a number of subbasins for TMDL regulation.

In this paper, we proposed the method called "DoublePico"(Double Piconet) forovercoming low data transmission rate in a scatternet. This needs a new Ad-hoc network topology to transmit with high rate. Every node performs the function of the relay station. DoublePico has two bluetooth devices that should form two different poconets; every node can make a link between two different piconets. Two different piconets are linked in one node by the link with two bluetooth divices thereby forming the Ad-Hoc network. In this paper, we shows the method of DoublePico which supports about 457kbps of the maximum data transmission rate. This method supports a higher data transmission rate than the traditional bluetooth's Ad-Hoc topology by using analysis and comparison of existing algorithm of bluetooth specification and simulation results. Specifically, this paper focuses on the impact of intererence on the PER (Packet Error Rate), throughput performance, and the throughput improvement with SAW(Stop and Wait)-ARQ scheme in DoublePico.
Modern GPU can execute mass parallel computation by exploiting many GPU core. GPGPU architecture, which is one of approaches exploiting outstanding computational resources on GPU, executes general-purpose applications as well as graphics applications, effectively. In this paper, we investigate the impact of memory-efficiency and performance according to number of CTAs(Cooperative Thread Array) on a SM(Streaming Multiprocessors), since the analysis of relation between number of CTA on a SM and them provides inspiration for researchers who study the GPU to improve the performance. Our simulation results show that almost benchmarks increasing the number of CTAs on a SM improve the performance. On the other hand, some benchmarks cannot provide performance improvement. This is because the number of CTAs generated from same kernel is a little or the number of CTAs executed simultaneously is not enough. To precisely classify the analysis of performance according to number of CTA on a SM, we also analyze the relations between performance and memory stall, dram stall due to the interconnect congestion, pipeline stall at the memory stage. We expect that our analysis results help the study to improve the parallelism and memory-efficiency on GPGPU architecture.

The purpose of the present study is to compare the reduction rate of natural frequency and the increase rate of damping parameter with structural damage in system. For this purpose, experiment and numerical simulation analysis are performed for the 2-span H-Beam with lower natural frequency and higher damping parameter from free vibration in structure. The response signal by impact load before and after damage is analyzed at 14 locations. The response signals for all locations are performed fast fourier transform to estimate the natural frequency reduction rate and wavelet transform to estimate the damping parameter increase rate. The time domain function corresponding to each scale(frequency) is separated from the response signal by wavelet parameter. The estimation of damping parameter increase rate using wavelet transform is more sensitive than the estimation of natural frequency reduction rate in structure.

The numerical simulation of two-dimensional moving blade row interactions is conducted by CFD means to investigate the interactions between the front and rear propeller in a stratospheric airship contra-rotating open propeller configuration caused by different rotational speeds. The rotational speed is a main factor to affect the propeller Reynolds number which impact the aerodynamic performance of blade rows significantly. This effect works until the Reynolds number reaches a high enough value beyond which the coefficients become independent. Additionally, the interference on the blade row has been revealed by the investigation. The front blade row moves in the induced-velocity field generated by the rear blade row and the aerodynamic coefficients are influenced when the rear blade row has fast RPMs. The rear blade row moving behind the front one is affected directly by the wake and eddies generated by the front blade row. The aerodynamic coefficients reduce when the front blade row has slow RPMs while increase when the front blade row moves faster than itself. But overall, the interference on the front blade row due to the rear blade row is slight and the interference on the rear blade row due to the front blade row is much more significant.

The performance of an partial relay selection on the decode-and-forward (DF) mode cognitive radio (CR) relay networks is studied, with some important factors, including the outage probability, the bit error ratio (BER), and the average channel capacity being analyzed. Different from the conventional relay selection schemes, the impact of spectrum sensing process as well as the spectrum utilization efficiency of primary users on the performance of DF-based CR relaying networks has been taken into consideration. In particular, the exact closed-form expressions for the figures of merit such as outage probability, BER, and average channel capacity over independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) Rayleigh fading channels, have been derived in this paper. The validity of the proposed analysis is proven by simulation, which showed that the numerical results are consistent with the theoretical analysis in terms of the outage probability, the BER and the average channel capacity. It is also shown that the full spatial diversity order can always be obtained at the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) range of [0dB, 15dB] in the presence of multiple potential relays.
The intelligent trajectory control method that controls moving direction and average velocity for a prosthetic arm is proposed by pattern recognition and force estimations using EMG signals. Also, we propose the real time trajectory planning method which generates continuous accelleration paths using 3 stage linear filters to minimize the impact to human body induced by arm motions and to reduce the muscle fatigue. We use combination of MLP and fuzzy filter for pattern recognition to estimate the direction of a muscle and Hogan`s method for the force estimation. EMG signals are acquired by using a amputation simulator and 2 dimensional joystick motion. The simulation results of proposed prosthetic arm control system using the EMf signals show that the arm is effectively followed the desired trajectory depended on estimated force and direction of muscle movements.

In this paper, we extend the multiple time scale control framework to the window-based congestion control, in particular, such as the TCP. This is performed by interfacing the TCP with a large time scale control module which adjusts the aggressiveness of the bandwidth consumption behavior exhibited by the TCP as a function of large time scale Self-Similar network state. i.e., conformation that exceeds the horizon of the feedback loop as determined by the RTT. How to effectively utilize such an information-due to its probabilistic nature, dispersion over the multiple time scales, and affection on the top of the existing window-based congestion controls-is a non-trivial problem. The evaluation performance of the multiple time scale TCP is facilitated by a simulation of the bench-mark environment which is based on the physical modeling of a self-similar traffic. We explicate our methodology for discerning and evaluating the impact of changes in transport protocols in the protocol stack under the self-similar traffic conditions. We discuss issues arising in the comparative performance evaluation under heavy-tailed workloads.
