We detected two cases of right atrial angiosarcoma that had a similar appearance on imaging studies. Although the surgical findings were similar for the two patients, one had a clear resection margin, while the other had tumor cells in the resection margin on frozen biopsy. We suggest that preoperative data on magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography in patients with angiosarcomas may not predict the exact extent of surgical resection or prognostic outcomes.

Glomus tumours are vascular hamartomas that are commonly found in the hand, particularly the subungual region. They appear as solitary or multiple tumours, and often present as a bluish discoloration of the nail plate. Different diagnostic tests are outlined, as well as imaging studies such as magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound. Misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis of these tumours are common, while a familial tendency is a potential risk factor but not yet proven. Complete surgical excision often results in complete symptomatic relief, while recurrences are largely due to incomplete excision or the growth of a new glomus tumour. This article aims to review the key aspects of glomus tumours and provide a diagnostic algorithm so that the lesion can be recognized and treated earlier.

Wei symptom(?證) is symptom that reveals muscle relaxation without contraction and muscle relaxation occurs in the lower or upper limb, in severe case, leads to death. This is the clinical report about the Wei symptom(?證)-patient doubt as Transverse Myelitis and Conversion Disorder. The patient was treated by acupuncture, moxibustion, herb medication(十全大補湯), electriccal stimulation theraphy, Bee Venom acupuncture, and had significant improvement in Wei symptom(?證). these results suggest the surface temperature differ remarkably from before being treated. The temperature is measured by using Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging(DITI). The results suggest that oriental medicare is an effective treatment for Wei symptom. We expected that therapeutic value of treatment of both leg Paralysis in the oriental medicine will be higher if more clinical studies and researches are accomplished.

It is well known that chromospheric features are fine structured, short lived, and dynamic. Spectrograph-based observation have obvious advantage of getting physical properties of solar chromosphere than filter-based one. We developed and installed Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph (FISS) attached on New Solar Telescope in Big Bear Solar Observatory. FISS have capabilities to take data with high time, spatial and spectral resolution at two wavelengths(Ha $6563{\AA}$ and CaII $8542{\AA}$) simultaneously. After FISS installation, we observed various chromospheric features : active regions, quiet regions, filaments/prominences and so on. As one of chromospheric studies, we analyzed solar prominences and got physical parameters by using simple radiative transfer modeling. The ranges of temperature and non-thermal velocities are found to be 7500-13000K and 5-11km/s, respectively.

Isolated hypoglossal nerve paresis due to mechanical compression from a vascular lesion is very rare. We present a case of a 32-year-old man who presented with spontaneous abrupt-onset dysarthria, swallowing difficulty and left-sided tongue atrophy. Brain computed tomographic angiography and magnetic resonance imaging of the brainstem demonstrated an abnormal course of the left vertebral artery compressing the medulla oblongata at the exit zone of the hypoglossal rootlets that was relieved by microvascular decompression of the offending intracranial vertebral artery. This case supports the hypothesis that hypoglossal nerve palsy can be due to nerve stretching and compression by a pulsating normal vertebral artery. Microvascular decompression of the intracranial nerve and careful evaluation of the imaging studies can resolve unexpected isolated hypoglossal nerve palsy.

Discovery of the naturally evolved fluorescent proteins and their genetically engineered biosensors have enormously contributed to current bio-imaging techniques. These reporters to trace dynamic changes of intracellular protein activities have continuously transformed according to the various demands in biological studies. Along with that, light-inducible optogenetic technologies have offered scientists to perturb, control and analyze the function of intracellular machineries in spatiotemporal manner. In this review, we present an overview of the molecular strategies that have been exploited for producing genetically encoded protein reporters and various optogenetic modules. Finally, in particular, we discuss the current efforts for combined use of these reporters and optogenetic modules as a powerful tactic for the control and imaging of signaling events in cells and tissues.

An ampulla of Vater neuroendocrine tumor (AOV-NET) is a rare subset of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs). Very few studies have been undertaken regarding MRI findings of an AOV-NET. We report on a case of a 59-year-old woman diagnosed with an AOV-NET with liver and lymph node metastasis, with an emphasis on the MRI findings. This case shows rare and precious typical MRI findings of an AOV-NET. The MRI visualized the AOV-NET very well and is helpful for the differentiation of an AOV-NET from other tumors in the ampullary area as well as with treatment planning.

Ultrasound imaging in clinical practice is one of the widely used diagnostic methods because there is no radiation risk, more cost- effective compared to MRI or CT, and possible to perform an intervention through fast real-time imaging. In order to increase the diagnostic value, the studies of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) using an ultrasound contrast agent have been actively conducted since about 50 years ago and are being used clinically in vascularity and microcirculation of internal organs. Although ultrasound is actively used for the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases in musculoskeletal disorders, there are some limitations in diagnosing mild or small lesions, inflammatory reactions, or abnormalities at the molecular level. In this review, the principles, types, and research, and clinical applications of ultrasound contrast agents have been summarized and introduced. If we understand the characteristics of the ultrasound contrast agents and anatomical knowledge, as well as molecular changes, the ultrasound contrast agents are widely applied in musculoskeletal disorders and have tremendous potential for diagnosis and treatment.

Many studies have been conducted to ensure that Visual Place Recognition is reliable in various environments, including edge cases. However, existing approaches use visible imaging sensors, RGB cameras, which are greatly influenced by illumination changes, as is widely known. Thus, in this paper, we use an invisible imaging sensor, a long wave length infrared camera (LWIR) instead of RGB, that is shown to be more reliable in low-light and highly noisy conditions. In addition, although the camera sensor used to solve this problem is an LWIR camera, but since the thermal image is converted into RGB image the proposed method is highly compatible with existing algorithms and databases. We demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the baseline method by about 0.19 for recall performance.
