의료영상 콘텐츠의 뇌 MR영상 반자동 영역 분할 알고리즘 (Brain MRI Semi-Automatic Segmentation Algorithm for Medical Image Contents)

  • 본 논문은 뇌의 축상면에 대하여 촬영된 양성자 밀도영상과 T2 강조 영상을 대상으로 이루어진다. 이러한 영상 중 뇌 위축을 보이지 않는 정상인과 뇌 위축을 보이는 비정상인의 대뇌 영상으로부터 백질, 회백질, 뇌척수액을 분리하고, 분리된 조직의 체적을 자동으로 계산할 수 있는 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 이렇게 개발된 알고리즘을 바탕으로 계산된 각 조직의 체적 값과 디지털화된 영상의 헤더 분석을 통해 얻어진 각종 정보를 바탕으로 환자의 성별, 연령별로 결과 값을 세분화하여 데이터베이스로 구성하게 되며 수집된 각종 데이터를 분석 및 통계 처리하여 정상인과 비정상인을 판단 할 수 있는 조기진단 알고리즘을 최종적으로 완성하게 된다. 이 결과는 알츠하이머 환자를 쉽게 구별 할 수 가 있으며, 알츠하이머등 뇌질환의 조기 진단에 대한 정확한 보조진단 기반을 마련하는데 목적이 있다.

Hyperspectral Fluorescence Imaging for Mouse Skin Tumor Detection

  • This paper presents a hyperspectral imaging technique based on laser-induced fluorescence for non-invasive detection of tumorous tissue on mouse skin. Hyperspectral imaging sensors collect image data in a number of narrow, adjacent spectral bands. Such high-resolution measurement of spectral information reveals contiguous emission spectra at each image pixel useful for the characterization of constituent materials. The hyperspectral image data used in this study are fluorescence images of mouse skin consisting of 21 spectral bands in the visible spectrum of the wavelengths ranging from 440 nm to 640 nm. Fluorescence signal is measured with the use of laser excitation at 337 nm. An acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) is used to capture images at 10 nm intervals. All spectral band images are spatially registered with the reference band image at 490 nm to obtain exact pixel correspondences by compensating the spatial offsets caused by the refraction differences in AOTF at different wavelengths during the image capture procedure. The unique fluorescence spectral signatures demonstrate a good separation to differentiate malignant tumors from normal tissues for rapid detection of skin cancers without biopsy.

복식에 표현된 투명성의 이미지 (Image of Transparency expressed in Dress)

  • This study compares architecture with dress, investigates the image of transparency expressed in modern dress, and reveals its modern meaning. That is the purpose for this study. The study results are as follows. First, purity was expressed with simple, white color which has not any exaggeration or decoration, and transparent veils of wedding dress express clean and pure image which represents the original meaning of wedding dress. Second, eroticism conveys being erotic by exposing human body through transmission of light over transparent materials. Eroticism expressed by wearing thin and transparent dress with body-conscious line almost like being nude or emphasizing the sexually curious area in human body. The biggest difference in this study is that eroticism is delivered in dress, but not in architecture. Third, playfulness shows synchronism which recognizes human body with transmission of light over ,linear, transparent materials or recognizes inside dress. Playfulness expressed with location switch between inside and outside, exaggeration, distortion , and emphasis. Forth , openness makes dress atmosphere soft by putting transparent materials over opaque materials, expressed separation from restriction by wearing transparent dress over a naked human body, and expressed open ad free image by expressing human emancipation and freedom. Transparent dress expressed modern human being's sensitivity desire for living with light and joyful mood departing from heavy through, and also open and free image which pursues for freedom of human boedy departing from the restriction of human body.

Blind Color Image Watermarking Based on DWT and LU Decomposition

  • In watermarking schemes, the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is broadly used because its frequency component separation is very useful. Moreover, LU decomposition has little influence on the visual quality of the watermark. Hence, in this paper, a novel blind watermark algorithm is presented based on LU transform and DWT for the copyright protection of digital images. In this algorithm, the color host image is first performed with DWT. Then, the horizontal and vertical diagonal high frequency components are extracted from the wavelet domain, and the sub-images are divided into $4{\times}4$ non-overlapping image blocks. Next, each sub-block is performed with LU decomposition. Finally, the color image watermark is transformed by Arnold permutation, and then it is inserted into the upper triangular matrix. The experimental results imply that this algorithm has good features of invisibility and it is robust against different attacks to a certain degree, such as contrast adjustment, JPEG compression, salt and pepper noise, cropping, and Gaussian noise.

GPU를 이용한 이방성 탄성 거꿀 참반사 보정의 계산가속 (Acceleration of Anisotropic Elastic Reverse-time Migration with GPUs)

  • 탄성 거꿀 참반사 보정(elastic reverse-time migration)을 통해 물리적으로 의미가 있는 영상을 얻기 위해서는 탄성 파동방정식(elastic wave equation)을 통해 재구성된 벡터 파동장(reconstructed vector wavefield)으로부터 P파와 S파를 분리하는 파분리 알고리듬이 필요하다. 그리고 이방성을 고려한 탄성 거꿀 참반사 보정으로의 확장을 위해서는 이방성을 고려한 탄성 모델링 알고리듬 뿐만 아니라 이방성을 고려한 파분리가 필요하다. 이방성 탄성매질에서의 파분리는 등방성 탄성매질에서 주로 이용하는 Helmholtz decomposition과는 달리 탄성매질의 수직 속도 및 이방성 계수에 따라 계산된 유사미분필터(pseudo-derivative filter)를 이용한다. 이 필터는 적용에 많은 계산이 필요하기 때문에 이 연구를 통해 많은 양의 병렬계산을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있는 GPU (Graphic Processing Unit)를 이용하여 이방성 파분리를 수행하는 알고리듬을 개발하였다. 또한 GPU를 이용해 파분리를 수행하는 알고리듬을 포함하고 MPI (Message-Passing Interface)를 이용하는 효율성 높은 이방성 탄성 거꿀 참반사 보정 알고리듬을 개발하였다. 개발된 알고리듬의 검증을 위해 Marmousi-II 탄성모델을 기초로 수직 횡등방성(vertically transversely isotropy; VTI) 탄성모델을 구축하여 수치모형 실험을 수행해 다성분 합성탄성파탐사자료를 생성하였다. 이 합성탄성파 자료에 개발된 이방성 탄성 거꿀 참반사 보정 알고리듬을 적용하여 GPU와 MPI를 효과적으로 이용한 계산속도 향상과 이방성 파분리에 의한 영상결과의 정확도 향상을 보여주었다.

오일시일의 동적거동에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Dynamic Behaviour of Oil Seals)

  • This paper deals with an experimental study on the dynamic behaviour of rubber oil seals when the interferences between the shaft and the seal lip as well as the dynamic eccentricities are present. The micro-separation of the sealing gap was observed with the aid of an image processing apparatus. The temperature of the seal lip edge, friction torque and the dynamic sealing gap profile are experimentally investigated for the initial interference and the shaft eccentricity. The data was simultaneously measured under the operation conditions. Experimental results show that, as the shaft speed is increased, the leakage of sealed fluids is increasing for a certain range of shaft speeds. The test data indicates that the shaft eccentricity clearly produces the gap separation between the shaft and the seal lip which is unable to follow the radial displacement of shaft as the shaft speed increases.

이미지 분리를 이용한 입자 속도 측정을 위한 홀로그래피 시스템의 개발 (Development of New Holography System for Measurments of Particle Velocities Using Separation of Images)

  • In this research a novel two-reference-beam double pulse holographic technique for the measurments of particle sizes and velocities was developed. This holographic method features the capability of separation of the first and second particle images by using two reference beams instead of one and the change of the polarization direction of laser light. The developed holographic system was tested through the measurements of droplet sizes and velocities in the spray created by two high speed impinging jets. The overall spray pattern clearly revealed the inherent wave nature. Smaller and faster droplets were generated with larger impingement angle, higher jet velocity. and smaller orifice diameter.

  • In the present study, we separated the marker particles from the suspending particle mixture solution using isotacho-electrophoresis technique, a novel quantitative ionic particle separation method, in the microchannel. A multiple stacking zone of the suspending particle was visualized with variations in electric field strength, pH value and concentration of the ionic solution. In particular, the electrophoretic mobility of ionic particle (fluorescein) was estimated based on the electrophoretic velocity value measured by the particle image velocimetry. As a result, isotacho-electrophoresis zones were clearly visualized as going downstream in the electric field. The particle migration velocity increased proportional to the applied voltage increase; it was also affected by the pH value variations in the ionic solution.

셸 형상의 3차원 폐곡면상에서 추출된 점데이터군으로부터 중립곡면 계산에 관한 연구 (A Study on Medial Surface Extraction from Point Samples on 3D Closed Surfaces in Shell Shapes)

  • In this study, new medial surface calculation methods using Voronoi diagrams are investigated for the point samples extracted on closed surface models. The medial surface is defined by the closure of all points having more than one closest point on the shape boundary. It is a one of essential geometric information in 3D and can be used in many areas such as 3D shape analysis, dimension reduction, freeform shape deformation, image processing, computer vision, FEM analysis, etc. In industrial parts, the idealized solid parts and shell shapes including sharp edges and vertices are frequently used. Other medial surface extraction methods using Voronoi diagram have inherent separation and branch problems, so that they are not appropriate to the sharp edged objects and have difficulties to be applied to industrial parts. In addition, the branched surfaces on sharp edges in shell shapes should be eliminated to obtain representative medial shapes. In order to avoid separation and branch problems, the new approach by analyzing the shapes and specially sampling on surfaces has been developed.

인쇄체 한글 문자 인식에 관한 연구 (The Recognition of Printed HANGUL Character)

  • A recognition algorithm for Hangul is developed by structural analysis to Hangul in this theses. Four major procedures are proposed : preprocessing, type classification, separation of consonant and vowel, recognition. In the preprocessing procedure, the thinning algorithm proposed by CHEN & HSU is applied. In the type classification procedure, thinned Hangul image is classified into one of six formal types. In the separation of consonant and vowel procedure, starting from branch-points which are existed in a vowel, character elements are separated by means of tracing branch-point pixel by pixel and comparison with proposed templates. In the same time, the vowels are recognized. In the recognition procedure, consonants are extracted from the separated Hangul character and recognized by modified Crossing method. Recognized characters are converted into KS-5601-1989 codes. The experiments show that correct recognition rate is about 80%-90% and recognition speed is about 2-3 character persecond in three types of different input data on computer with 80386 microprocessor.
