  • In this paper, we experiment a face recognition rate of the shaded faces except to low dimension feature vectors; first, second, third dimension. It is known to robust the face recognition against illumination. But, it isn't obvious what is effect to recognition in terms of low dimension. We are analysis to the effect of low dimension(first, second, third dimension, and combination of these) under the shaded faces.

  • As a result of rapid economic and social change, the number of large-scale builing is expected to increase. In response to the growing increase, It will be a greater demand for up-to-date for heating and cooling, illumination, communication and disaster protection system as well as a sharp rise in overall energy consumption. Gradually the living of apartment building is increasing by growing population. In basic data will be offered for the energy conservation programs, and establishing some standards for the energy consumption in future. By understanding how energy sources are actually utilized in existing apartment houses, we can develop more appropriate strategies to maximize both the efficient use of energy and its conservation.

  • In this paper, we propose a new scheme of motion tracking based on fuzzy inference (Fl) and wavelet transform (WT) from image sequences. First, we present a WT to segment a feature extraction of dynamic image . The coefficient matrix for 2-level DWT tent to be clustered around the location of Important features in the images, such as edge discontinuities, peaks, and corners. But these features are time varying owing to the environment conditions. Second, to reduce the spatio-temperal error, We develop a fuzzy inference algorithm. Some experiments are performed 0 testify the validity and applicability of the proposed system As a result, proposed method is relatively simple compared with the traditional space domain method. It is also well suited for motion tracking under the conditions of variation of illumination.

  • Edges are a robust feature for object detection. In this paper, we present an edge-based background modeling method for the detection of moving objects. The edges in the image frames were mapped using robust Canny edge detector. Two edge maps were created and combined to calculate the ultimate moving-edge map. By selecting all the edge pixels of the current frame above the defined threshold of the ultimate moving edges, a temporary background-edge map was created. If the frequencies of the temporary background edge pixels for several frames were above the threshold, then those edge pixels were treated as background edge pixels. We conducted a performance comparison with previous works. The existing edge-based moving-object detection algorithms pose some difficulty due to the changes in background motion, object shape, illumination variation, and noises. The result of the performance evaluation shows that the proposed algorithm can detect moving objects efficiently in real-world scenarios.

  • A method of estimating the pose of a three-dimensional object from a set of two-dimensioal images based on parametric eigenspace method is proposed. A Gaussian blurred edge image is used as an input image instead of the original image itself as has been used previously. The set of input images is compressed using K-L transformation. By comparing the estimation errors for the original, blurred original, edge, and blurred edge images, we show that blurring with the Gaussian function and the use of edge images enhance the data compression ratio and decrease the resulting from smoothing the trajectory in the parametric eigenspace, thereby allowing better pose estimation to be achieved than that obtainable using the original images as it is. The proposed method is shown to have improved efficiency, especially in cases with occlusion, position shift, and illumination variation. The results of the pose angle estimation show that the blurred edge image has the mean absolute errors of the pose angle in the measure of 4.09 degrees less for occlusion and 3.827 degrees less for position shift than that of the original image.

  • Maximum power point tracking for PV systems traditionally uses either perturbation and observation method or incremental conductance method. Both methods require modulation of the output voltage and this leads to significant power loss. In this paper, a method, which senses output circuit voltage and short circuit current and use the above two parameters for optimum control with a fuzzy controller, is introduced. The short circuit current of PV cell represents illumination, and the output circuit voltage carry on information about the temperature. PCS(power conditioning system) is controlled not only feed to inverter for stability voltage variation despite of variety external environment, but also operate in order to feeding voltage and current at maximum power point by boost type chopper.

  • In this paper, electrical characteristics of an n-channel Si MOSFET with L$_{s}$=0.6.mu.m under optical illumination are charaterized on wafer. Energetic photons with .gamma.=830nm, hv=1.494eV, P$_{opt}$=300mW are injected near the drain junction, the most photoresponsive region in the device, via optical fiber. We observed significantly increased drain current and transconductance, which is considered to be useful for the implementation of OEICs on silicon substrate, under optical control with P$_{opt}$=300mW. Optical power-dependent physical mechanisms responsible for the variation of electrical characteristics under optical input are also reported.d.d.d.

  • The detailed studies regarding to the front and rear panel geometries and optical properties of composed layers were needed to improve the luminance and efficiency. 3-dimensional optical code can be used to analyze the variation of geometries and the changing of optical properties. The visible light distributions and illuminance results were simulated depending on the bus electrode position, ITO geometries and optical properties of dielectric layer. As the ITO area was decreased and the bus electrode was located at the outer part of cell, the illumination was increased. And we could find quantification which is related between dielectric layer and visible light distribution of PDP cell.

  • In this paper, electrical characteristics of inductively coupled plasma in an electrodeless fluorescent lamp were investigated using a Langmuir probe with a variation of argon gas pressure. The RF output was applied in the range of 5 ∼ 50 (W) at 13.56 (MHz). The internal plasma voltage of the chamber and the probe current were measured while varying the supply voltage to the Langmuir probe in the range of -100 (V) ∼+100 (V). When the pressure of argon gas was increased, electric current was decreased. There was a significant electric current increase from l0W to 30 〔W〕. Also, when the RF power was increased, electron density was increase. This implies that this method can be used to find an optimal RF rower for efficient light illumination in an electrodeless fluorescent lamp.

  • The structural and electrical properties of microcrystalline silicon films were investigated by hot wire chemical vapor deposition(HWCVD) often called catalytic chemical vapor deposition(Cat-CVD). The Si microcrystalline phase is easily controlled by changing the rate of the silane concentration of $SiH_4$ to $H_2$ during deposition. The Structural property was observed by Raman and SEM. Photo-conductivity and dark conductivity, and photo-sensitivity were observed by Sunsimulator (AM 1.5 illumination). The film color was changed by the variation of silane concentration. HWCVD is useful for the formation of Si thin films for solar cell and needs further commercialized development for mass production.
