  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the relationship between physical exercise and quality of life in middle-aged adults. Method: The subjects of this study consisted of 251 mid-aged adults who lived in D city and N city. The instrument for this study was exercise performance scale by Kim and QOL scale by Ro. Data were collected form February 20 to March 20. 2003. Result: 1. Among participants. 'good' exercise performance consisted $39.2\%$ and exercise involvement was $41\%$. 2. The quality of life showed positive significant correlation with the exercise performance(r=.21. p=.00). 3. Exercise performance was a predictor of quality of life and $8.3\%$ of the variance explained with exercise performance. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that further development and applying of exercise performance programs are recommended for quality of life of mid-aged adults. In addition. further research needs to be done to identify relationship with these factors for various age group.

  • This study investigated gender differences in the factors affecting elementary school students' ability to identify scientific problems. Scientific problem finding tasks, involving written instruments including IQ tests, content knowledge, science process skills, divergent thinking skills, intrinsic/extrinsic motivation, personality traits, and home environment were administered to 96 elementary school students(male; 50 & female: 46). The data collected was analyzed by means of a t-test, Pearson's correlation, multiple regression analysis, and canonical correlation analysis. The finding indicated that there were significant gender differences in scientific problem finding performance. Female students were significantly higher in both total score and elaborate score of scientific problem finding than male students. Personality traits and intrinsic motivation positively and extrinsic motivation negatively predicted male students' abilities in scientific problem finding. Science process skills, personality traits and intrinsic motivation positively and extrinsic motivation negatively predicted female students' scientific problem finding and IQ positively predicted female students' elaborate score of scientific problem finding.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the levels of burnout experienced by Korean hospital nurses (N=198), and to identify predictors of their nursing outcomes such as job performance, work satisfaction, and productivity. Method: Hierarchical multiple regression was used to identify predictors of each nursing outcomes. Included predictors were nurses' general characteristics, work- related characteristics (role stress and perceived control), and burnout. Results: Korean nurses experienced higher levels of burnout compared to the cutoffs suggested by Maslach and Jackson (1986) and to those in the USA. For each nursing outcome, predictor variables explained 39% of the variance in role performance, 30% of the variance in work satisfaction, and 38% of variance in productivity. Higher personal accomplishment, lower role ambiguity, being staff nurses, and lower emotional exhaustion were related to higher job performance, and higher productivity. Lower role conflict and role ambiguity were also related to higher work satisfaction. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, managemental interventions for nurses to reduce their burnout experience are needed. Further study in this area is warranted.

  • Purpose: This purpose of this study was to identify the level of knowledge and attitude of patient safety and patient safety management activity (PSMA) and identify influencing factors of PSMA in nursing students. Methods: The participants were 210 fourth-year nursing students in C and G city. Data were collected with structured questionnaires from October 10 to November 10, 2017. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression with SPSS 21.0 were used. Results: As a result, the level of knowledge of patient safety was 9.05, attitude of patient safety was 4.07, and PSMA was 4.22. The factors influencing PSMA were knowledge and attitude of patient safety. The regression model explained 77% of PSMA. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that a systematic education program considering factors influencing the patient safety management activities of nursing students be developed.

  • We present near-infrared (0.8 - 1.8 microns) spectra of 63 bright (J_mag < 10) stars observed with Low Resolution Spectrometer (LRS) onboard the rocket-borne Cosmic Infrared Background Experiment (CIBER). Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS) photometry information is used to find cross-matched stars after reduction and extraction of the spectra. We identify the spectral types of observed stars by comparing with spectral templates from the Infrared Telescope Facility (IRTF) library. All the observed spectra are consistent with late F to M stellar spectral types, and we identify various infrared absorption lines. As our observations are performed above the Earth's atmosphere, our spectra are free from telluric contamination. Including HST/NICMOS and Cassini/VIMS, the spectral coverage has rarely been achieved in space, and the methods developed here can inform statistical studies with future low-resolution spectral measurements such as GAIA photometric and radial velocity spectrometer.

  • Under the premise that the housing market is not fixed, but changes organically according to social and systematic environment, it has important meaning as the object of this study to identify the recent housing market's movement by deducing the changed characteristics of the factors to compose the recent new houses. By using the following methodology, this study analyzed the characteristics and mutual relations of the economical and house-composing factors, categorized the investigation object into sub-markets, and executed comparative analysis. First, based on the leading studies analyzing the factors of house price determination and the assessment indicators of 'Green Building Certification Program', the composing factors are deduced. Second, the factors are categorized as economic, housing complex planning and geographical condition. Third, to identify the influence of housing environmental factors on economic factors, the correlation between the former and the latter, and the difference between economic factors are analyzed. Fourth, by segmenting and categorizing the housing market into time and location subgroups, the chronicle trend and the geographical characteristics are analyzed.

  • This study deals with the problem of selecting 6 sigma projects. Traditionally, such selection was based on CTQ (critical to quality) or COPQ (cost of poor quality) derived within business units. Since the objective of 6 sigma is to achieve business goals in a short period, 6 sigma projects should be selected and carried out in coincidence with the whole company's strategies. This paper proposes two methods of selecting 6 sigma projects: one is to identify CTQ's by analyzing the company's BSC's (balanced score card) and then deploying them into subunits of the company and the other is to identify those projects with large hidden COPQ or cost of waste by applying value stream analysis and process model simulation to derive process cost models.

  • Multimedia such as image, audio, and video is easy to create and distribute with the advance of IT. Since novice uses them for illegal purposes, multimedia forensics are required to protect contents and block illegal usage. This paper presents a multimedia forensic algorithm for video to identify the device used for acquiring unknown video files. First, the way to calculate a sensor pattern noise using Wiener filter (W-SPN) is presented, which comes from the imperfection of photon detectors against light. Then, the way to identify the device is explained after estimating W-SPNs from the reference device and the unknown video. For the experiment, 30 devices including DSLR, compact camera, smartphone, and camcorder are tested and analyzed quantitatively. Based on the results, the presented algorithm can achieve the 96.0% identification accuracy.

  • It is vary hard to identify the fuzzy rules and tune the membership functions of the fuzzy inference in fuzzy systems modeling, We propose a fuzzy neural network model which can automatically identify the fuzzy rules and tune the membership functions of fuzzy inference simultaneously using artificial neural networks, and modify backpropagation algorithm for improving the convergence. The proposed method is verified by the simulation for a robot manipulator.

  • In stressed power system due to the presence of increased nonlinearity and the existence of nonlinear modal interactions. there exist some limitations to the use of conventional linear system theory to identify the optimum sites for a controller. This paper suggests an approach based on the method of normal forms to identify the optimum sites for controllers with incorporating the nonlinear interaction . In this paper, nonlinear participation factors and coupling factors are proposed as measures of the nonlinear interactions, and identification procedure of optimum sites for a controller is also proposed. The proposed procedure is applied to the 10-generator New England System and the KEPCO System in the year of 2010, and the results illustrate its capabilities.
