The conjunctive marker '-ko' in Korean can be interpreted as meaning either conjunctive 'and' or ordering 'and then'. The interpretation of '-ko' is ambiguous in written texts but not in spoken texts. It is because the meaning of the utterance is determined by the combination of the text with its prosody. The two meanings of ' -ko' can be explained by the theory of implicature, which was introduced by Grice (1973, 1981). This paper examines the meaning of the marker '-ko' with respect to the relation between its meaning and prosody. The results of the experiments in this paper showed that the prosodic phrasing in Korean influences the interpretation of the marker '-ko'. When two constituents combined by '-ko' are realized in the same accentual phrase, the marker can be interpreted as meaning 'exactly be orderly'. This meaning can be classified as the Particularlized Conversational Implicature (PCl) in Gricean theory. In the other cases of phrasing, the marker '-ko' can mean either 'conjunctive' or 'be orderly' by the Generalized Conversational Implicature (GCI). The fact that phrasing determines the interpretations of the marker '-ko' can be seen as supporting the view that prosody interacts with various levels of linguistic phenomena from phonology to pragmatics.

Lilium is a perennial bulbous plant belonging to the liriotypes genus. Our aim was to study the phylogenetic relationships of the Lilium family. Two varieties of Lilium ledebourii, 44 varieties of the gene bank, and one variety from the Tulipa family served as the out group. In order to study the diversity between lilium masses, ITS regions were used to design the marker. The results showed that the guanine base is the most abundant nucleotide. Relatively high conservation was observed in the ITS regions of the populations (0.653). Phylogenetic analysis showed that sargentiae and hybrid varieties are older than other varieties of the Lilium family. Also, the location of L. ledebourii varieties (Damash and Namin) was identified in a phylogenetic tree by using the ITS marker. Overall, our research showed that ITS molecular markers are very suitable for phylogenetic studies in the Lilium family.
The existing raised pavement marker, however, have some limitations. Most of them are square-shaped which makes only forward and backward retro-reflection, their orientation can be easily changed by impact of vehicle, and the surface reflector can be readily contaminated leading poor functioning. In addition, maintenance for broken raised pavement marker is not easy. The purpose of the study is to design and manufacture a new and improved type of raised pavement marker. The new raised pavement marker has round-shaped upper structure. Its body was separated from the holder and the reflector was surrounded by acrylic cover. We tested performances of the constituent parts, optimum load after installation, and reflection efficiency. The new raised pavement marker will be an initiation of studies on the improvement of the shape and performance of raised pavement markers.

Green microalgae from the class Chlorophyceae represent a major biodiversity component of eukaryotic algae in continental water. Identification and classification of this group through morphology is a hard task, since it may present cryptic species and phenotypic plasticity. Despite the increasing use of molecular methods for identification of microorganisms, no single standard barcode marker is yet established for this important group of green microalgae. Some available studies present results with a limited number of chlorophycean genera or using markers that require many different primers for different groups within the class. Thus, we aimed to find a single marker easily amplified and with wide coverage within Chlorophyceae using only one pair of primers. Here, we tested the universality of primers for different genes (tufA, ITS, rbcL, and UCP4) in 22 strains, comprising 18 different species from different orders of Chlorophyceae. The ITS primers sequenced only 3 strains and the UCP primer failed to amplify any strain. We tested two pairs of primers for rbcL and the best pair provided sequences for 10 strains whereas the second one provided sequences for only 7 strains. The pair of primers for the tufA gene presented good results for Chlorophyceae, successfully sequencing 21 strains and recovering the expected phylogeny relationships within the class. Thus, the tufA marker stands out as a good choice to be used as molecular marker for the class.
Objective : Lonicera japonica THUNB. a traditional herbal medicine, has been commonly used anti-inflammatory disease. It has been very complicated with respect to its sources on the market. The significant selection of medicine depends on its origin. However, it is difficult to discrimination criteria for confirming L. japonica authenticity using the senses. This study was performed to determine the discriminant analysis of L. japonica and L. confusa. Methods : The identification of L. japonica and L. confusa were performed by the classification and identification committee of the national center for standardization of herbal medicines. And we examined its differences using HPLC and genetic marker analysis. Results : The analytical pattern of High Performance Liquid Chromatography was determined from the corresponding peak curves ((E)-aldosecologanin, chlorogenic acid, luteolin 7-O-glucoside, sweroside). For L. japonica, additional unknown peaks were detected at 13.8 min, 20.6 min, and 36.9 min. And, we developed genetic marker using the the tRNA-Leu gene, trnL-trnF intergenic spacer and tRNA-Phe region of chloroplast DNA. By the method, 164 bp PCR product amplified from L. confusa was distinguished into L. japonica and L. confusa efficiently. Conclusion : Base on these results, two techniques provide effective approaches to distinguish L. japonica from L. confusa.

Objectives : Due to the morphological similarity of in the roots of herbal medicine, the official herbal medicine is very difficult to authenticate between the original plants of Patriniae Radix and two adulterant Patrinia species. Therefore, we introduced DNA barcode analysis to establish a powerful tool for the authentication of Patriniae Radix from its adulterants. Methods : To analyze DNA barcode regions, genomic DNA was extracted from twenty-nine specimens of Patrinia scabiosaefolia, Patrinia villosa, Patrinia saniculifolia, and Patrinia rupestris, and internal transcribed spacer 2(ITS2), matK and rbcL genes were amplified. For identification of species specific sequences, a comparative analysis was performed by the ClastalW based on entire sequences of ITS2, matK and rbcL genes, respectively. Results : In comparison of three DNA barcode sequences, we identified 22, 22, and 12 species-specific nucleotides enough to distinguish each four species from ITS2, matK and rbcL gene, respectively. The sequence differences at the corresponding positions were available genetic marker nucleotides to discriminate the correct species among analyzed four species. These results indicated that comparative analysis of ITS2, matK and rbcL genes were useful genetic markers to authenticate Patriniae Radix. Conclusions : The marker nucleotides enough to distinguish P. scabiosaefolia, P. villosa, P. saniculifolia, and P. rupestris, were obtained at 22 SNP marker nucleotides from ITS2 and matK DNA barcode sequences, but they were confirmed at 12 SNP marker nucleotides from rbcL. These differences could be used to authenticate Patriniae Radix from its adulterants as well as discriminating each four species.

To provide the end-to-end service differentiation for assured services, the random early demotion and promotion (REDP) marker in the edge router at each domain boundary monitors the aggregate flow of the incoming in-profile packets and demotes in-profile packets or promotes the previously demoted in-profile packets at the aggregate flow level according to the negotiated interdomain service level agreement (SLA). The REDP marker achieves UDP fairness in demoting and promoting packets through random and early marking decisions on packets. But, TCP fairness of the REDP marker is not obvious as fur UDP sources. In this paper, to improve TCP fairness of the REDP marker, we combine a dropper with the REDP marker. To make packet transmission rates of TCP flows more fair, at the aggregate flow level the combined dropper drops incoming excessive in-profile packets randomly with a constant probability when the token level in the leaky bucket stays In demotion region without incoming demoted in-profile packets. It performs a dropping in the demotion at a domain boundary only if there is no prior demotion. The concatenate dropping at multiple domains is avoided to manifest the effect of a dropping at a domain boundary on TCP fairness. We experiment with the REDP marker with the combined dropper using ns2 simulator for TCP sources. The simulation results show that the REDP marker with the combined dropper improves TCP fairness in demoting and promoting packets by generating fair demoted in-profile traffic compared to the REDP marker. The effectiveness of the selected drop probability is also investigated with showing its impact on the performance of the REDP marker with the combined dropper.
As augmented reality technology becomes more common and prevelant, marker-based AR contents are applied in various ways. However AR contents are still hardly utilized due to the low recognition rate of marker images. In order to increase the recognition rate of AR marker images, this paper experiment and analyzed how much the recognition rate of markers could be improved when image correction and design changes was applied. The experimental result shows that the image correction task could significantly improve the number of image characteristics and the recognition grade if the image was modified in a way its saturation value is increased. Moreover, the recognition rate was improved even more when regular pattern design was added to the original marker image. In conclusion, it was possible to make the marker well recognized through proper correction of the image and additional process of pattern design in the process of producing the marker image.

This study introduces an innovative approach to monitor the whereabouts of workers within indoor construction settings. While traditional modalities such as GPS and NTRIP have demonstrated efficacy for outdoor localizations, their precision dwindles in indoor environments. In response, this research advocates for the adoption of Aruco markers. Leveraging computer vision technology, these markers facilitate the quantification of the distance between a worker and the marker, subsequently pinpointing the worker's instantaneous location with heightened accuracy. The methodology's efficacy was rigorously evaluated in a real-world construction scenario. Parameters including system stability, the influence of lighting conditions, the extremity of measurable distances, and the breadth of recognition angles were methodically appraised. System stability was ascertained by maneuvering the camera at a uniform velocity, gauging its marker recognition prowess. The impact of varying luminosity on marker discernibility was scrutinized by modulating the ambient lighting. Furthermore, the camera's spatial movement ascertained both the upper threshold of distance until marker recognition waned and the maximal angle at which markers remained discernible.
