Algorithm for Computing J Relations in the Monoid of Boolean Matrices (불리언 행렬의 모노이드에서의 J 관계 계산 알고리즘)

  • Green's relations are five equivalence relations that characterize the elements of a semigroup in terms of the principal ideals. The J relation is one of Green's relations. Although there are known algorithms that can compute Green relations, they are not useful for finding all J relations in the semigroup of all $n{\times}n$ Boolean matrices. Its computation requires multiplication of three Boolean matrices for each of all possible triples of $n{\times}n$ Boolean matrices. The size of the semigroup of all $n{\times}n$ Boolean matrices grows exponentially as n increases. It is easy to see that it involves exponential time complexity. The computation of J relations over the $5{\times}5$ Boolean matrix is left an unsolved problem. The paper shows theorems that can reduce the computation time, discusses an algorithm for efficient J relation computation whose design reflects those theorems and gives its execution results.

Comparison of paramedic image and its determinants between paramedic and non-paramedic students (응급구조학과 학생과 타 학과 학생이 지각한 응급구조사 이미지와 이미지 결정요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify differences in paramedic image and its determinants between paramedic and non-paramedic students. Methods: From September 18 to 26, 2013, data were collected from 146 universities students by using a self-reported questionnaire. Results: The mean paramedic image score was 4.22 for paramedic students and 3.89 for non-paramedic students. The paramedic students had a more positive paramedic image than the non-paramedic students. Among three subcategories of paramedic image, professional image was selected as the most positive factor. The determinants of paramedic image differed between the paramedic and non-paramedic students. The mean subjective determinants score showed higher than those of any other determinants for both student groups. Conclusion: The findings of this study showed that practical strategies are needed to promote a positive paramedic image among non-paramedic students.

A Study on a Chatbot Service Model Architecture using Open Source Chatbot Builders

  • Due to the development of IT technology and the on-going Coronavirus disease, non-face-to-face services have been activated. To overcome the inconvenience of non-face-to-face service, service providers have adopted chatbots as a way to feel like a human being. As the increasing chatbot services, chatbot builders have emerged, which can help non-developers to build them. Although its popularity has increased, its performance evaluation has not been conducted on such chatbot builders. In this paper, we implement a prototype chatbot that classifies hospital departments in the medical field using Dialogflow and Rasa, which are popular chatbot builders. By measuring the accuracy of the chatbot's classification of medical subjects, we evaluated the level of accuracy that the most used chatbot builder can have when they are used to build a chatbot service. The simulation results showed that Dialogflow had 87%, 65%, and 60%, and Rasa did 64%, 70%, and 63% in surgery dermatology, and otolaryngology, respectively.

  • With the rapid development of computer technology and communication networks in modern society, human economic activities in the almost every field of our society depend on various electronic devices. The huge amount of digital data generated in these circumstances is refined by technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data, and its value has become larger and larger. However, until now, it is the reality that the digital data has not been clearly defined as an economic asset, and the institutional criteria for expressing its value are unclear. Therefore, this study organizes the definition and characteristics of digital data, and examines the matters to be considered when considering digital data in terms of accounting assets. In addition, a method that can objectively measure the value of digital data was presented as a quantitative calculation model considering the time value of profits and costs.

Metaverse Technology Trends for Convergence Services (융합 서비스 확산을 위한 메타버스 기술 동향)

  • Metaverse is expected to bring many innovations to society, culture, and economy by providing realistic services in various fields while suppressing time and space constraints. However, unclear definitions owing to the high diversity of the metaverse add to the confusion of the ecosystem participants. The current metaverse service has many voices of concern owing to technical limitations and lack of a clear profit model. Nevertheless, given its high growth potential driven by the digital transformation, a solid and long-term technology development strategy seems to be necessary. Accordingly, we analyze development cases centering on the major metaverse service shapes presented in the Metaverse New Industry Leading Strategy announced by the Ministry of Science and ICT in January 2022. In addition, we study the characteristics and core technologies of each metaverse service for its realization and discuss future stages of technological development.

Burden of GI Cancer and Its Control Strategies in Korea

  • Gastrointestinal (GI) cancers are top priorities for cancer control in Korea. In terms of epidemiological, population-health and economic burden, GI cancers such as stomach, liver and colorectal cancers have been top four cancers in the nation during the past decade and this trend is likely to continue in the near future. In order to reduce the great burden of GI cancer in Korea, the nation might need the following strategies: (1) to put more focus on primary prevention on infection/diet and related research; (2) to improve screening rates for colorectal and stomach cancers, and conduct more cost-effectiveness analysis of these screening programs, e.g., Fecal Occult Blood Test vs. colonoscopy; (3) to establish a more consistent and integrative cost-effectiveness analysis system for new cancer treatments and anticancer drugs; and (4) to place more emphasis on hospice and other palliative care of GI cancer, as well as on the etiology, staging and treatment of pancreas cancer with its poor survival rate.

Enhancing Customer Happiness Through Corporate Social Responsibility: Unveiling the Impact of CSR on Customer Well-Being

  • Previous literature supports the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) by demonstrating its effects on various aspects of firm performance. However, the extent to which CSR contributes to social well-being, its original objective, has rarely been examined. The current research investigates the impact of customers' perceived CSR of service firms on customer happiness. Two studies confirm our proposition that perceived CSR increases customer happiness by enhancing perceptions of warmth and competence associated with the service company. Furthermore, we examine how the type of service moderates this effect. Specifically, we find that the indirect effects of CSR on customer happiness through perceptions of warmth and competence are stronger for credence services than for experience services. This research makes theoretical contributions to the literature on CSR, happiness, and service, and offers practical implications for marketing tactics, including fostering long-term customer relationships and monitoring the effectiveness of CSR activities and corporate budget allocations.

  • This study aims to enhance the continuous utilization of community mapping by structurally understanding the intentions behind its ongoing use and the impacts related to it, grounded in prior research. By analyzing existing community mapping cases through literature studies on community mapping, this research identifies the characteristics of community mapping that motivate its sustained use. Moreover, based on the Uses and Gratifications Theory and the Participatory Communication Model (PCM), this study proposes a research model to investigate the factors influencing the intention to continue using community mapping. Unlike previous studies, which primarily focused on developing and applying community mapping processes for case studies, this research not only develops and applies a community mapping process but also aims to apply the findings related to the intention of continued use in future community mapping activity processes for sustained engagement.

  • This paper firstly focused on introducing the current status of ITS activities in Korea. Then, possibility of RS application within the surface transportation was studied. ITS in Korea was first introduced in early ninties, since then, Korean government puts lots of efforts for flourishing it. Topics for the paper are composed of the Korean ITS Strategic Plan, ITS R&D, Metropolitan Model Deployment Initiative Projects, and RS application in ITS. One of the main findings in the process of revision of the national strategic plan for the 21$^{st}$ century was that ITS should thoroughly reflect end users’ needs in establishing its goals and objectives. For ITS R&D, Korean Government took initiatives, and drove it since 1997. In conclusion, authors suggest future application of RS within ITS in developing country.

  • Since establishment some 25 year ago, AMITA Corporation has continued its attempts in meeting customer needs, in reducing costs for waste treatment. The solutions we have proposed in the past made use of our networks entailing Japan as well as the East Asian region. However, as enterprises have changed their perspective approaching environmental issues recently, as needs diversify, AMITA too has been changing its strategy to incorporate the use of Information Technology to provide consulting services. AMITA has set its goals in promoting modernization of the waste treatment industry, and optimizing the recycling market to reduce environmental impacts.
