A Case Study on Implementing Microservice Architecture in Steel Manufacturing MES (철강 제조 MES의 마이크로서비스 아키텍처 적용 구축사례 연구)

  • Recently, the application of microservice architecture has been increasing as information systems have shifted to cloud environments. The purpose of this paper was to analyze the case of applying microservice architecture to MES in the manufacturing field, summarize the results of how it was applied in practice, and find out the effects of the application. Based on the improvement project by applying microservice architecture to the existing steel manufacturing MES, 11 principles of microservice application were derived through literature research, and the implementation process and results were summarized according to these principles. In addition, through a comparison of systems in the service industry and the manufacturing industry, we investigated why the application of microservices was more active in the service industry and whether the application in the manufacturing industry can be expected to have the same effect. We also evaluated the results and changes in the overall system after implementation. In particular, we analyzed the SR (Service Request) processing status of users' requests for system changes and operators' requests to see how much the lead time was reduced. The results showed that 8 out of 11 microservice application principles were properly implemented according to the principles, but the remaining 3 were not applicable due to practical difficulties and organizational circumstances. Despite not following all of the principles, the project was able to be implemented without any problems, and the most noticeable change as a result of the microservices architecture was that the lead time was reduced by 9 days compared to the previous system. This proves that it is possible to quickly adapt to customer requirements, and it also proves that the system is more flexible and scalable than the existing monolithic system.

  • Recently, with the rapid development of android-based smartphones, it is becomes a major security issue that the case of Android platform is an open platform. so it is easy to be a target of mobile virus penetration and hacking. Even there are a variety of security mechanisms to prevent the vulnerable points of the Android platform but the reason of most of the security mechanisms were designed at application-level that highly vulnerable to the attacks directly to the operating system or attacks using the disadvantages of an application's. It is necessary that the complementary of the android platform kernel blocks the kernel vulnerability and the application vulnerability. In this paper, we proposed a secure system using linux-based android kernel applied to LIDS(Linux Intrusion Detection and Defense System) and applied a smart phone with s5pc110 chip. As a result, the unauthorized alteration of the application was prevented with a proposed secure system.

  • Around the world, BIM application has been mandated. In Korea, an announcement was made in 2016 that BIM application will be required for all public constructions ordered by the Public Procurement Service. However, BIM cannot be used for building permits as Seumter, a building permit system, doesn't support BIM, even if it was used for building design. To utilize BIM for permit application, this study introduces a method of management for BIM-used permit application information. It was done by analyzing the data entered for new building permit application in Seumter. For the analysis, the permit application information is classified as internal BIM information and external BIM information and the required information is defined. To easily create and utilize the data types at the design stage, this study introduces a method of creating and utilizing a permit template. Also, this study developed a tool for combining the area information to add up all the related information such as gross floor area and floor area ratio. This study is significant in that it analyzes the required information for new building permit application among all the permit application types in Korea.

  • This thesis presents a development of intelligent digital governing system and it's application on Sumjingang Hydro-Power plant. The developed system consists of hardware, software and governing algorithm. The feature of hardware is triplex-modular fail safe redundant system for a safe turbine running. The software consists of operating system and application program. The operating system has real-time and multi-tasking features. And also, application algorithm is composed to run francis type hydro-turbine. The developed digital governing system is applied to Sumjingang hydro-power plant, Korea Hydro Nuclear Power Corporation.

Feasibility Study of Superconducting Fault Current Limiter Application to Korean Power System

  • The short circuit current problem is one of the operational problems that need to be solved by power system engineers in Korea. It is an important issue in the Seoul metropolitan area especially because of highly meshed configuration. Currently, it is regulated by changing 154 kV system configuration from loop connection to radial system, by splitting of the bus where load balance can be achieved, and by upgrading circuit breaker rating. A development project for 154 kV/2 KA SFCL application to 154 kV transmission system after 2010 is proceeding. In this paper, a feasibility study of superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) is carried out in Seoul metropolitan area to find out the effects of its application and feasibility. This study shows that it can reduce fault current considerably, and as it can minimize the upgrading of circuit breaker rating, the economic potential of SFCL is evaluated positively.

  • The ground anchoring has been utilized over 40 years. It is growing the application of the removal ground anchor with tension force for holding earth retaining constructions in the city. It transmits tension stress of prestressed steel wire through grouting to fixed the ground that is of great advantage adjacent ground stability. Nowadays, we can find the compression dispersion anchor on many site. But, it has some problems in behavior of anchors because of impossible to tense p.c strand uniformly under the existing equipment due to different length of p c strand. Hence, motive of this research was to study the application of the newly developed tension system, that analyze and compare with the current anchoring method build on the data of in-site test and laboratory test. As a result, in case of auto back tension system, it became clear that tension pressure was equally distributed among the steal wires but the existing tension system showed sign of instability by indicating stress deflection of about 30% compare with design load. This can cause an ultimate failure of the concentrated p.c strand and a shear failure of ground.

  • As the technology of a large scale battery have advanced, it's application to the electric power network have been active in foreign country. By providing the electric power energy stored in the electric power storage system when needed, there are many advantages that it is able to reduce the gap between the electric power demand and supply for day and night to increase capacity factor, to upgrade the electric power quality degraded from the unbalance between power demand and supply and to compensate the fluctuation of wind power plant and photovoltaic power generation. In this study, the current application of electric power storage system using battery is introduced in detail, and I have thought out it's application fields based on the foreign examples. These are demand side response, upgrade of the power quality, stabilization of fluctuation of renewable energy and distributed generation for filling elapse.

  • To transform the enterprise system into the 'Real Time Enterprise' with respect to IT, I suggest the conceptual application model which is composed of pieces(components) extracted from different packaged applications working in a heterogeneous environment based on the 'business activity' in other words, business services provided by internal (inter-enterprise) and external (extended enterprise) application to support a business activity within in an enterprise and the design mechanism focusing service tier which acts as intermediate tier within application architecture.

  • Application sharing for collaborative works make multiple participants to be capable of collaborative developments through sharing development tools and applications which is distributed to various system without spatial restriction. However, applying legacy application sharing to CSCW based virtual environment has a problem because it dont consider 3D space and it disturbs the harmonic interaction of participants. In this study, we designed application sharing system for collaborative works in 3D virtual environment to share application effectively on collaborative virtual environment. The designed application sharing system for collaborative works in 3D virtual environment consist of application sharing manager, group manager and communication manager. This system is able to perceive event of 3D space about application of participant on 3D virtual environment by agent which moves to participant sites and get an ordered events and conflict among participants through scheduling. Therefore, designed application sharing system for collaborative work in 3D virtual environment can support efficient collaborative works and improve reusability of legacy application through using easily legacy application in 3D virtual environment when CSCW application development for virtual environments.
