  • This paper discusses the central issues of election studies and in this contort, suggests the panel survey method as an alternative to general opinion surveys. In doing so, it also explains the advantages and benefits that a panel survey provides, and discusses the weakness of the 2006 panel survey. East Asia Institutes, constructing the consortium which includes JoongAng Ilbo, SBS, and Hankook Research, traces the change in voting decisions during the 2006 Korean Local Elections. Four regional panels, focusing on the gubernatorial elections in Seoul, Pusan, Kwangju, and Chungnam, enable researchers to study the critical issues of election studies such as the causal relations among a set of voting determinants, the impact of campaigns, and the characteristics of floating voters.

  • Electromagnetic and electric surveys were performed to reveal the deep structure of the Yangsan fault in the Bong-gye and Unyang areas, Kyeongnam Province, Korea. Especially, high-frequency magnetotelluric (HFMT) method of EM survey was mainly employed to study the deep subsurface configuration of Yangsan fault. HFMT survey was performed at 25 points of spacing 50 m, making 1.3 km survey line in Unyang area and 13 points of spacing 50 m, making 0.6 km survey line in Bong-gye area. Two 2-D cross-sections (Unyang and Bong-gye areas) were achieved as results. Electric survey by dipole-dipole array was performed to study the structure of shallow subsurface and compare the results with HFMT surveys. The results of HFMT and electric surveys show that Yangsan fault is a geologic boundary. It is very narrow and steep (about $80^{\circ}C$), and extends to 1~1.5 km depth.

  • Setting RAM target value of a weapon system, which is one of the essential elements when developing a weapon system, should be quantitatively evaluated throughout the development stage. When setting RAM target value of a weapon system, it is very crucial to choose an appropriate methodology along with suitable and available data. In this study, a process for setting RAM target value based on the similar system field data and the conversion factors derived from expert survey is presented. In particular, a method for calculating and applying conversion factors is proposed, which converts similar system operating and maintenance times into those of the weapon system to be developed. A case study of a specific weapon system shows that the proposed RAM target value setting method can be effectively utilized. The proposed RAM target setting method is expected to better reflect the distribution of expert survey responses than the existing method due to the use of skewness for selecting an appropriate statistic and the weighted averages obtained considering expert group's weights of expertise. And therefore it is expected that the proposed method can produce more realistic RAM target value of weapon system.

  • To survey satellites using only GPS can sometimes cause an impossible situation due to the many different geographical conditions as city cannon and obstacles. Although the GLONASS satellite system does not have the ability to survey itself accurately since it currently lacks of the number of usable satellites, it is able to bridge the gap when combined with GPS. This research used the GPS receiver to perform four analyzing methods to bring out the independent surveying method of GPS and combined surveying method of GPS and GLONASS(4 methods - number of satellites able to receive, precision of raw data, standard deviation from known point and RTK surveying). The result of test surveying satellites showed that 11 hours were possible to measure a minimum of 4 satellites when using an independent surveying method and 4 hours in unified surveying method in a month. Also, the precision of raw data using GPS and GLONASS surveying is 0.08~l.8m better than the GPS surveying in standard deviation. The deviation of known points by GPS and GLONASS also showed better accuracy by 3~l1mm. The RTK showed the range of differences in deviation of survey by leaning towards the GPS independent survey in Northing coordinate and leaned towards the Easting coordinate when GPS and GLONASS were combined. Nonetheless, it can't be said that the unified method is better, because it has limits to its capability.

  • Recently, To define an enterprise's survival strategy is a difficult task, because the competition of a business is a complexity. The reason is the original research uses a statistical survey method. On a conceptual point of SCM, - as an order of development, physical distribution, logistics management, basic supply chain management and advanced supply chain management etc - a supervisor is magnifying gradually as well as confusing with information and analysis techniques which seems possible. On executing this, however, it has many problems since it is hard and wide; therefore, The Manager don't aware a total executable solution even though the enterprise knows necessity of SCM. On this paper focus on a proposal of alternatives with reasonableness of manufacturing and making a profit of sales department like most of enterprises are willing to overcome such as carelessness and unready strategy of investment additionally, the thesis should effort to find an element through an analysis of cases, a statistical method of effective SCM, and actual survey to propose an alternative; moreover, this paper proved the facts that it could be a guiding company, which has an ability of cooperation with entities through the founding of supply chain. As a conclusion, this essay showed the variation that influences the capacity entities and alternative to define an element which basically influence for a cause and effect.

  • In most inverter/converter applications SVPWM method is the preferred approach for it shows good characteristics in linear modulation range and waveform quality. in this paper we propose a new carrier based SVPWM method for multi-level system. First we survey the conventional carrier based SVPWM method and investigate the problem of the conventional one for the multi-level system with the focus on the switching frequency harmonic flux trajectories. Finally we propose a new carrier based SVPWM method that can reduce harmonic distortion. Simulation and experimental results are given for the verification of the proposed SVPWM method.

  • The study discussed in this paper presents a method of estimating sources of geometric errors in suspension bridges in use, based on geometric survey data. A geometric error is defined as the difference between the survey data and the design geometry of a main cable. It is assumed that the geometric error in a suspension bridge is caused by the variations in the weight of the stiffening girder and the deformation of the anchorage foundations due to the creep of soil. The variations in the girder weight and the deformation of the foundation were estimated by constructing a matrix of factors that affect suspension bridges due to the variations. To check the validity of the proposed method, it was applied to the Kwang-An Bridge, and the sources of geometric errors in the bridge were estimated using the survey data.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the use patterns of traditional fermented soybean products(Jang) in Yangsan city. Two hundred eighty seven housewives living in Yangsan joined this survey practiced by Yangsan City Agricultural Development Center. 49.0% of these housewives graduated from a highschool, and 77.4% is in 30s or 40s. Most(69.3%) of respondents themselves have made Jang at home and the preparation frequency of Jang became higher with getting older. This survey showed that the preparation frequency of Jang in large family living with parents is higher than in nuclear family. The Jang preparation tendency of housewives living in the independent home was higher than that of apartment. Most of respondents replied the preparation method of Jang has been learned from mother or mother-inlaw. On the other hand, in the case of no making Jang at home, they bring it generally from relatives or buy it at the market. And 59.8% of housewives anted to participate in the education of Jang preparation.
