  • We report on the influence of heat treatments on the electrical properties of ZnO films grown by molecular-beam epitaxy. We note that the electrical resistance of the ZnO films is significantly changed by the heat treatments: the electrical resistance increases with the increase of ambient temperature, but above a critical temperature the resistance decreases with the increase of temperature, irrespective of ambient gases. On the other hand, it is found that the large amount of photocurrent is generated in the ZnO films, exposed to white sources: the photocurrent decreases with the increase of the obtained resistance, and the current increases with the decrease of the resistance. Also, it is shown that the X-ray diffraction linewidth of the ZnO films is significantly decreased by the heat treatments. These indicate that the increase/decrease of the electrical resistance is ascribed to the annihilation/formation of the residual donor-type defects in the ZnO films by the heat treatments. It is suggested that the increase of the electrical resistance is due to the annihilation of Zni-complex defects, while the decrease of the electrical resistance is due to the formation of VO-complex defects.

  • Purpose - Although the importance and necessity of "sustainable supply chain management (SCM)" is emphasized, it is often not realized due to conflicting results, the long time required, and large-scale changes brought about by sustainability. This study used the innovation resistance model to confirm the influence of sustainable SCM innovation resistance factors and dynamic capabilities on adoption intentions. This approach made it possible to understand the factors that hinder adoption of sustainability practices and to identify the relationships among influencing factors. It should also help to establish effective policies or strategies. Design/methodology - Through a literature review, the characteristics of sustainable SCM were classified into relative advantage, compatibility, perceived risk, and complexity. The effects of these innovation characteristics on innovation resistance in sustainable SCM and the effects of innovation resistance on adoption intentions were confirmed. In addition, the effects of SCM capabilities on innovation resistance and adoption intentions were analyzed, and the mediating effect of innovation resistance was analyzed. Findings - Compatibility, perceived risk, and flexibility had significant effects on innovation resistance. In turn, innovation resistance had a significant effect on adoption intention, and flexibility had a significant effect on intention to adopt. A partial mediating effect of resistance to innovation was confirmed. Originality/value - Although many previous studies have acknowledged trade-offs with sustainability, most sustainable SCM studies dealt with the correlations among positive drivers of adoption, practices, and performance. This study confirmed the process of accepting sustainable SCM innovation in a single model and is expected to serve as a cornerstone for future sustainable SCM adoption studies. In addition, our findings should help establish effective policies or strategies to activate SSCM adoption by identifying the factors that hinder the adoption of sustainable SCM.

  • In this study, R/S analysis which was proposed by Mandelbrot & Wallis (1969) was applied to evaluate the presence of the fractal property in the cone tip resistance of in-situ CPT data. Hurst exponents (H) were evaluated in the range of 0.660$\sim$0.990 and the average was 0.875. It was confirmed that a cone tip resistance data had the characteristic of fractals and it was expected that cone tip resistance data sets are well approximated by a fBm process with an Hurst exponent near 0.875. It was also observed that the boundary between layers were obviously identified as a result of R/S analysis and it will be usage in practices.

  • It is important for marketers to understand both individual resistance and group resistance in order to successfully bring innovations into global markets. We suggest that consumers resist innovations as individuals and as members of a group and that they do this in different ways at different stages of decision-making. The individual resistance begins with forms of initial resistance, develops into emergent resistance and mature or belated resistance at the individual level. In addition, personal moral standards can influence decision making in relation to the adoption of innovations. Individual resistance is sometimes accompanied by or evolves into group resistance. We introduce a framework for thinking about consumer resistance to innovations that sees it as a consequence of social identity, which has functions for the individual, the group to which one belongs, and other individuals and groups. Consumers with membership in a certain group try to increase their self-esteem through the process of social comparison. The more consumers strongly identify with and bond with a certain group, the more in-group solidarity and out-group hostility will occur. Out-group hostility gives group members strong resistance toward products and services related to the out-group. Individual resistance and group resistance are threats to marketers and dampen performance. By considering the existence of resistance to innovations and seeking strategies to overcome it, marketers can transform these threat into new opportunities. A better understanding of consumer resistance can complement research on the adoption of innovations and help in the development of a universal model of consumer behavior.

  • Contact resistance variation which may be called sliding noise in carbon film variable resistors whose resistance elements consists of linear resistivity distribution were measured with several kinds of sliders and were analyzed to reduce the contact resistance variation. About the measuring method, the standard method of measuring contact resistance variation specified by the variable Resistance Components Institute was adupted. By analyzing the experimental results, it has been shown that the primary cause of contact resistance variation is due to current constriction and small discharge sparks in the resistance film in the area close to the slide contact. Moreover, it has been found that the sliding noise would be reduced by increasing the number of contact points, sliding speed, and pressure, and by using some kinds of insulation oil on the contacting surface. High contact resistance variation is likely to occur in the area of high resistance variation in a logrithmic resistance taper.

  • The purpose of this study how 'Afro-American resistance' is showed up in the fashion trough the study of rapper's fashion present in singing rap music. Rap music produced by the influence of black music. It have been the tool of expression of pain and sorrow of their lives and included their resistant spirit. So rapper's fashion expressed resistance. at this point I categorized the resistant feature of rapper's fashion at two types in terms of the extent of expression. Their are active resistance fashion and passive resistance fashion. Also each fashion types was classified in terms of style, material, color, accessories and so forth. Active fashion is possible to classify these three styles as follows. The first one is Afrocentic style that was raised from longing for Africa. The second one is Military style which contains an ling-time enduring spirit of resistance against the society. The last one is Hiphop style that violated the typical rule of dressing under the hiphop style culture. these kinds of active resistance are also classified as material like blue Jean showing black workers' resistance, color like black showing off superiority of 'black' and red, gold and green color expressing black people's resistance, and other accessories like chains, cross and so on. Passive resistance fashion has several variations according to the style. There are Jazz style, Uniform style and Hiphop style. It is also categorized as high-tech materials, white color which is the expression of desire for white and luxurious accessories showing off wealth.

  • To clarify resistance mechanisms of lincosamide antibiotics, it was examined whether lincosamide antibiotics was able to induce high resistance to macrolide and lincosamide antibiotics against EMR-1 strain of Bacillus species. And it was also examined whether the inducible resistance was plasmid-mediated or chromosome-mediated. This strain was identified as Bacillus licheniformis by its morphological and physiological characteristics. The subinhibitory concentrations of lincomycin and clindamycin induced high resistance in the strain to lincosamide antibiotics, but not to macrolide antibiotics. The inducible resistance was not eliminated by treating the strain with ethidium bromide, and plasmid was not identified by the alkaline lysis method of plasmid preparation. These results indicate, therefore, that the inducible resistance to macrolide and lincosamide antibiotics in the strain may be chromosome-mediated, not plasmid-mediated.

  • A DC resistance type humidity sensor using conductive carbon ink was fabricated and its performance was evaluated. The humidity sensor was fabricated using a screen printing technique and have a structure that does not require additional metal electrodes to measure resistance change. To evaluate the performance of the humidity sensor, we measured the DC resistance change under various relative humidity levels. The fabricated humidity sensor showed a resistance change of about $2.5{\sim}50k{\Omega}$ in 11 ~ 95% RH environment. It also shows a linear relationship in the relative humidity versus log DC resistance graph. In comparison with commercial humidity sensor under real environment, it can be confirmed that the resistance of the humidity sensor changes to almost the same level as the measured humidity. These results show that the resistance type humidity sensor can be operated stably in actual environment.

  • A high temperature superconducting(HTS) power cable is available for high capacity current in normal condition. But resistance was appeared to operate unbalance load by thermal current characteristic. This characteristic of HTS power cable used to design for unstated condition. And than, It used to understand and analyze characteristic of power cable thermal and critical current. This study appeared that quench resistance reason from shield and former current rise to superconductor(SC) current. The resistance of SC occurred that the cable temperature rise to fault current after decreased critical current. The quench resistance of SC increased in temperature or decreased in critical current. So the quench resistance of SC correlated with resistance of both shield and former current. It need to sufficiently influenced the parameters of HTS cable design.

  • It is usual to use hydrophilic-coated aluminum foil for evaporator fin of air-conditioners to reduce air flow resistance caused by the water droplets condensed on the fin surface. The major effect of a hydrophilic coating is to reduce the contact angle of the condensate and prevent bridging of the condensate between the adjacent fins. The performance of hydrophilic coating generally tends to be degraded as it is used since the coating material is washed down by the condensate. In the present work, several types of hydrophilic coatings were evaluated in terms of durability of hydrophilicity, corrosion resistance and heat resistance. Results showed that an improved hydrophilic coating of resin type presented superb qualify in terms of durability and corrosion resistance while having almost the same level of qualify in heat resistance compared with the others.
