  • The article discusses the use of modern technologies in the learning process. It has been determined that the modern period of the development of society is characterized by a strong influence of computer technologies on it, a new education system is being formed, focused on entering the world information and educational space. This process is accompanied by significant changes in the pedagogical theory and practice of the educational process associated with making adjustments to the content of learning technologies, which should be adequate to modern technical capabilities, and contribute to the harmonious entry of a teenager into the information society. Computer technologies are designed to become not an additional "makeweight" in training, but an integral part of a holistic educational process, significantly increasing its effectiveness

  • This article retrospects the developmental process of the psychology of learning and its' influence on mathematics education. At the end of the article, brain-based learning science is introduced to examine its possibility to improve the psychology of learning mathematics. Behaviorists points of views such as Skinner, Guthrie, and Gagne were summarized to discuss the influences on the learning and teaching of mathematics. Gestalt' theories and Constructivism are also included in the discussion of developmental process of learning psychology. In elaboration of the brain-based learning science, recent research findings and the possibility of it's impact on mathematics education were discussed. Since mathematics itself is the most abstract subject it could be more challenging to identify the teaming process of mathematics compared with other areas. The possibilities of identifying the teaming process of mathematics are cautiously anticipated with a help of new paradigm.

  • This study aims to investigate how to apply the theory of constructivism to CADD education. To maximize educational effect in the educational process, evaluation, media, interactions between instructor and learners, existing CADD education has some limitations and needs new methodology. Constructivism can be said to be a learner-oriented theory in that it emphasizes on the process of understanding in each individual. It can contribute in educational practice to elicit each learner's motivation and to develope their creativity. This paper tried to investigate how to apply constructivism to architectural designing and find the most suitable CAAD education methodology related to design studio.

  • It is central to use a scale to measure a person's level of a construct in mathematics education research. This article explains a practical process through which a researcher rapidly can develop an instrument to measure the construct. The process includes research questioning, reviewing the literature, framing a background theory, treating the data, and reviewing the instrument. The statistical treatment of data includes normality analysis, item-total correlation analysis, reliability analysis, and factor analysis. A virtual example is given for better understanding of the process.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate knowledge types which the elementary science gifted students would use when solving a science problem, and to examine characteristics and types that were shown in the science problem solving process. For this study, 39 fifth graders and 38 sixth graders from Institute of Education for the Gifted Science Class were sampled in one National University of Education. The results of this study were as follows. First, for science problem solving, the elementary science gifted students used procedural knowledge and declarative knowledge at the same time, and procedural knowledge was more frequently used than declarative knowledge. Second, as for the characteristics in the understanding step of solving science problems, students tend to exactly figure out questions' given conditions and what to seek. In planning and solving stage, most of them used 3~4 different problem solving methods and strategies for solving. In evaluating stage, they mostly re-examined problem solving process for once or twice. Also, they did not correct the answer and had high confidence in their answers. Third, good solvers had used more complete or partially applied procedural knowledge and proper declarative knowledge than poor solvers. In the problem solving process, good solvers had more accurate problem-understanding and successful problem solving strategies. From characteristics shown in the good solvers' problem solving process, it is confirmed that the education program for science gifted students needs both studying on process of acquiring declarative knowledge and studying procedural knowledge for interpreting new situation, solving problem and deducting. In addition, in problem-understanding stage, it is required to develop divided and gradual programs for interpreting and symbolizing the problem, and for increasing the understanding.

  • The goal of educating consumers regarding food safety is to increase consumer competency in food safety. In order to recognize consumer problems and to develop consumer competency in rapidly changing consumer environment, it is necessary to cultivate consumer knowledge, attitude, and ability on food safety required in performing the consumer role effectively. Within this context, it is necessary to develop consumer-oriented education programs which aim to change consumer values and behaviors with regard to food safety. Based on information obtained from focus group interviews, the need for educational programs for food safety, which are related to the whole process of food consumption, have been raised. The process of food consumption is divided into buying, cooking/eating, and after eating, based on the process of consumer decision making and consumer behavior. Scenarios for consumer education on food safety were developed depending on the process of food consumption. This study developed a pilot consumer education program which included the whole process of food consumption. The program of this study was designed to induce consumers to change their behavior through establishing values on food safety and may contribute to lay the foundation for the realization of food safety culture. The results will be utilized to provide future directions for consumer education programs and efficient educational materials on food safety. Finally, it is hoped that empirical evaluation and analysis on the effects of consumer education programs will be investigated in future studies.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the trend of spatial design education focusing on creativity based on design process. In this research, the theoretical frame of design process focused on creativity was organized and the trend of creativity education study in the spatial design and other design sectors was compared and analyzed. As a result of the research, the creativity education study of spatial design analyzed such a result showed the relatively low frequency, many of studies related to formative expression of idea. On the contrary, the creativity education of other design sectors is related to overall process the most, the major contents were represented as a creativity enhancement eduction through the conversion with other sectors, the utilization of study method and theology and the utilization of IT technology. The result of this study suggests that more various attempts are required for the spatial design education and that the attempts should orient the conversion between science and art, humanity and science and the integrated access of digital and analogue.

  • The development of IT technology emphasizes the importance of training IT professionals, and the need for education for elementary and secondary education as well as adult education for training technical talent is expanding. In particular, information curriculum will be added as an essential course from the 2015 revised curriculum, and IT technology will be understood in the curriculum for elementary and secondary schools and will be required to develop applicability to solve problems based on understanding. Currently, research is under way to integrate IT technologies to provide new services, and if the use of personal information is required in the process, thorough security for the leakage of personal information is pre-empted. It also prevents the identification of personal information in the process of transmitting data to the outside world. In this paper, we propose a training method for elementary school subjects to understand the non-identification process that occurs in the process of transferring data using pipe games so that they can understand the principles of non-identification and develop applications to solve real-life problems.

  • There are a considerable number of instruments in testing science process skills in Korea as well as America and Europe. However, it has been difficult to find the instruments encompass the wide range of scientific process skills. Most instruments developed and used in Korea were focused on a school level or a few components of scientific process skills. In this study, the researchers examined the whole body of scientific process and identified 10 component skills. Three items for each component process skills were developed and revised by two pilot tests. The final instruments showed moderate difficulty, discrimination index, reliability, and validity. The instrument was also tested the usability by finding differences of students' ability on science process skills by grade levels, sexes, and city size. The results showed that the instrument was proved to be useful to discriminates the differences.
