The use of information technology (IT) as a competitive weapon has now become a popular cliche. But there is still a lack of understanding of the driving forces that determine particular types of IT adoption in organizations, the activities that supported by ITs, and ITs that organizations are utilizing now and are planning to introduce in the future. Thus, This study investigates the types of IT adoption and organizations' utilization of IT in the value chain now and in the future. Concepts of IT, driving forces for adoption of IT and organizations' activities in the value chain were defined to facilitate the survey.
Service science has emerged as the key factor in developed economies as it becomes the main driver of productivity and economic growth. MICE industry has also opened up new revenues through improved services and new services which is a more attractive strategy for success. The importance of adoption of service science has recently emerged in MICE industry. This study takes a holistic approach to understand the diffusion of IPTV services by combining the adoption-diffusion model and the use-diffusion model of innovation. IPTV service, a leading digital converged application coupling media content with telecommunications, has been recently launched commercially in Korea. We created a structural model of adoption-diffusion, using the perceived easeof-use and usefulness of TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) as mediating variables, and a structural model of use-diffusion, with the rate of use and the variety of use as mediating variables. To empirically analyze these models, non-users of IPTV were surveyed using the adoption-diffusion model to identify factors influencing their intention to subscribe to the service. Meanwhile, users of IPTV were surveyed using the use-diffusion model to determine the factors that influence their satisfaction with the service and their intention to re-use it. Under the adoption-diffusion model, we found that trialability, household innovativeness and perceived risk were the determinants of user satisfaction with IPTV, and perceived ease-of-use, the mediating factors. Under the use-diffusion model, complementarity and communication were shown to be the determinants of users' satisfaction with IPTV, and variety of use, the mediating factor. We also found that consumers' intention to re-use IPTV was strongly influenced by its relative advantage and perceived risk.

Technology adoption has been an important issue for researchers and practitioners. In this paper, we identified the relationships between intention of technology adoption and technological affinity and other psychometric characteristics. We believe that technology affinity may be one of the general psychometric traits of individuals, and thus people have a different affinity levels which may influence the technology adoption intention. As a result it was found that need for cognition and self efficacy had positive influence on technology affinity, and the affinity also positively affected adoption intention. In addition, it was also found that technology affinity displayed a mediating role for the consumers adoption intention with need for cognition and self efficacy.

The healthcare industry continues to adopt and integrate smart technology in its operations, from medical devices to managing operations. However, the adoption curve has not been smooth, and the historical record of technology adoption in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reveals the existence of both known and unknown issues. This review paper is aimed to explain the influences and barriers present in the Saudi healthcare sector affecting IoT technology adoption. A comprehensive discussion of the literature illustrated that Vision 2030, the privatisation trend, transformation in disease patterns and ageing, issues in management and increasing public awareness are the key drivers that may influence the need for the medical Internet of Things (mIoT) in Saudi healthcare. However, based on the past trend, the introduction and adoption of mIoT will likely experience issues such as noncompliance from doctors and nurses due to negative beliefs, lack of knowledge and inadequate perception of effort requirements. Thus, in-depth research of the factors associated with mIoT technology adoption is suggested for a smooth transition.
The emergence of open source software (OSS) with its successful projects and its most prominent advantages creates a vast interest among academics and practitioners. However, it has been found that focusing on the developments of OSS to be successful is not adequate and the adoption of OSS by uses is also very important. Although there are a great number of useful and easy to use OSS has been developed, the adoption of OSS and usage in the market is very low. Based on the technology equity implementation model (EIM), this study examines user resistance in the adoption of OSS (i.e., switching from the current system to OSS). A survey has done regarding the adoption of Linux as the case of study. We have found that user resistance to change has negative effect on adoption intention, and switching benefits, switching costs and perceived value have significant relationships with user resistance to change.

The Adoption/Diffusion of Innovations(New Product), a topic of study and research that has frown rapidly in the past few decades, deals with how a new product is adopted in a society. It is of high importance to marketing organizations because New Products must be brought out continuously in order to service. The purpose of this paper is to examine the Adoption/Diffusion Models for New product which will help to analyze the Adoption/Diffusion process of Adopters. There are a number of models that, with varying degrees of success, have been used to predict market acceptance of new product. In this paper, following types of new product Adoption/Diffusion Models was suggested. (1) Adoption Models : The Alternative Models of Adoption. The Rogers Model of the Innovation Decision Process. (2) Diffusion Models : First Purchase Models(Basic Models, Extension of the Basic Models), Repeat Purchase Models
The objectives of this study is to develop a strategy for the adoption of BPM(Business Process Management) standards and an implementation guideline of the BPM standard for BPM solution developers focusing on BPEL(Business Process Execution Language) which is regarded as the most important BPM standard. In the heterogeneous and distributed IT environments, every type of enterprise software requires standards to enhance interoperability. BPMS(Business Process Management System), which is a type of enterprise software requires BPM standards such as BPEL(Business Process Execution Language), BPMN(Business Process Modeling and Notation), BPQL(Business Process Query Language) and so on to achieve multi-system interoperability and component interoperability with their BPM solutions. It is quite helpful to provide the adoption strategy concerning BPM standards for each type of BPM solution vendors who need the BPM standards. Since the BPEL is conceived as the most important BPM standard and widely adopted by many BPM vendors, we have proposed a reference architecture for BPEL implementation and also developed the detail implementation guideline of core components of the BPM system supporting the BPEL standard. Using the strategy and implementation guideline proposed in this work, BPM solution vendors can establish their own standard adoption strategy and they can also develop their BPM solutions supporting the BPM standards more efficiently.

This paper analyzes the applicability and technology level of the green building element technology by analyzing the scorecard of the LEED Canada certified buildings. The results of this analysis will be able to evaluate the current status and level of application of green building element technology, and it will be used as a basic data to prepare for the revision of the certification standards and the establishment of strategies for the future green building activation. In this study, 1,010 LEED Canada certified buildings from 2011 to 2016 were analyzed. The results were analyzed by focusing on the status of greening by certification category and the characteristics of adoption by sub-category. The results of the study are summarized as follows. (1) EA category showed the biggest difference between the certification scores and the adoption rates than other categories, and it was confirmed that it is not easy category from the viewpoint of practical adoption. On the other hand, the ID (Innovation & Design Process) and WE were analyzed to be relatively easy to apply, with a score of over 72%. (2) In the case of Platinum class, the upper adoption rate is shown in all categories except MR. The Gold class shows the adoption rate of WE and ID in the top, and the middle rate in most categories. Silver grades showed lower rates in the three categories except WE, ID and EQ. Certified grades showed the adoption rates of the bottom except the two categories.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate major factors influencing adoption of smartphone to promote its use by older adults. Background: Despite increasing proportion of elderly people and elderly market, the proportion of elderly smartphone user is still relatively small compared to whole smartphone users. Thus, we need to find out major factors influencing adoption of smartphone to increase proportion of elderly smartphone users. Method: Seven major factors were extracted from 36 survey questions using factor analysis. Regression analysis was also applied to determine specific factors affecting intention of use based on user versus non-user of smartphone, age, gender, and educational background. Results: As results of factor analysis and regression analysis, major factors influencing adoption of smartphone for elderly users were significantly different according to gender, age, educational background based on smartphone users or non-users. Conclusion: The result of this study identified major factors influencing adoption of smartphone for the elderly and provided basic information related to adoption of smartphone according to elderly people's characteristics. Consequently, we can expect to reduce the information gap and to improve quality of life for the elderly. Application: The development and marketing strategy could be applied differently based on the factors influencing adoption of smartphone. It is also possible to develop a prediction model for smartphone adoption according to elderly users' characteristics.
