  • Recently much attention has been paid for interference mitigation technique for the COMA system, since more capacity is available with same bandwidth. In this paper, we introduces a novel adaptive interference suppression techniques for the CDMA system with narrow band interference. The proposed interference rejection scheme employs the adaptive linear prediction techniques in the subband. In each subband, we can more easily find and cancel the narrow band signal as compared to the full band. Thus, the proposed interference rejection can be classified as another time-frequency techniques for the narrow band interference rejection(10). Computer simulation is conducted for the 3-G COMA system with IF band sampling techniques, yielding better interference rejection and bit error rate performance as compared to conventional one. Also, optimum filter is analyzed and from the analysis, it can be shown the subband prediction techniques can suppress narrow band interference more efficiently.

  • The application of LCC-techniques is being introduced at the on-going procurement programs of various techniques. LCC-techniques have the common characteristic that all are designed to motivate contractors to design, manufacture and deliver equipment with lower life cycle costs. You may believe that savings may be in the acquisition cost component of life cycle costs. However, primary emphasis is generally on reducing and controlling operating and support costs by transferring more responsibility to the contractor for equipment operating and support cost performance. It has been found that life cycle cost procurement provisions must be individually tailored to each program. In this study, the currently identified LCC procurement techniques including a variety of LCC incentive provisions are introduced. Moreover, verification method, a procedural issue and incentive to application of LCC-techniques are examined.

  • This paper reviews dynamic programming (DP), surveys approximate solution methods for it, and considers their applicability to process control problems. Reinforcement Learning (RL) and Neuro-Dynamic Programming (NDP), which can be viewed as approximate DP techniques, are already established techniques for solving difficult multi-stage decision problems in the fields of operations research, computer science, and robotics. Owing to the significant disparity of problem formulations and objective, however, the algorithms and techniques available from these fields are not directly applicable to process control problems, and reformulations based on accurate understanding of these techniques are needed. We categorize the currently available approximate solution techniques fur dynamic programming and identify those most suitable for process control problems. Several open issues are also identified and discussed.

  • Current techniques of residential planning are based upon planning theories and experiences which have evolved over time. These techniques are prerequisite conditions in establishing a firm foundation upon which residential sites can be developed. Residential planning techniques, which have been introduced to Korea from such areas as Western Europe, North America and Japan, have been changing as a result of attempt to properly acculturate these foreign influences into a traditional, yet rapidly progressing Korean society. It has been this objective of Korean planners, of considering domestic conditions while incorporating planning experiences of other countries, that has spearheaded Korea's phenomenal development in recent times. In this study, the changes and perspectives of residential planning concepts are examined from a historically comparative point of view. This approach allows for a macroscopic perspective on the various theories of residential planning which are constantly changing.

  • In order to remediate contaminated soils with heavy metals, many techniques have been developed and proposed. However, weakness for the various techniques has been making application for actual process difficult. They have been led to the necessity for novel techniques. Therefore, in this study, novel techniques which are developing and commercializing recently in domestic/foreign country will be introduced, especially it will be focused on remediation technique for contaminated soil with heavy metals using magnetic material.

  • Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, characterized by excessive accumulation of fat in the liver, is the most common chronic liver disease worldwide. The current standard for the detection of hepatic steatosis is liver biopsy; however, it is limited by invasiveness and sampling errors. Accordingly, MR spectroscopy and proton density fat fraction obtained with MRI have been accepted as non-invasive modalities for quantifying hepatic steatosis. Recently, various quantitative ultrasonography techniques have been developed and validated for the quantification of hepatic steatosis. These techniques measure various acoustic parameters, including attenuation coefficient, backscatter coefficient and speckle statistics, speed of sound, and shear wave elastography metrics. In this article, we introduce several representative quantitative ultrasonography techniques and their diagnostic value for the detection of hepatic steatosis.

  • This paper is about wine quality classification with multilayer perceptron using the deep neural network. Wine complexity is an issue when predicting the quality. And the deep neural network is considered when using complex dataset. Wine Producers always aim high to get the highest possible quality. They are working on how to achieve the best results with minimum cost and efforts. Deep learning is the possible solution for them. It can help them to understand the pattern and predictions. Although there have been past researchers, which shows how artificial neural network or data mining can be used with different techniques, in this paper, rather not focusing on various techniques, we evaluate how a deep learning model predicts for the quality using two different activation functions. It will help wine producers to decide, how to lead their business with deep learning. Prediction performance could change tremendously with different models and techniques used. There are many factors, which, impact the quality of the wine. Therefore, it is a good idea to use best features for prediction. However, it could also be a good idea to test this dataset without separating these features. It means we use all features so that the system can consider all the feature. In the experiment, due to the limited data set and limited features provided, it was not possible for a system to choose the effective features.

  • Brainstorming is one of the most well-known and frequently-used creativity techniques. Although the original brainstorming has several merits, it also has some drawbacks in its applications. Thus, lots of its variants have been introduced. Reverse Brainstorming, Cordon Method, Phillips 66, Brainwriting, 6-3-5 Brainwriting, Crawford Slip Writing, Nominal Group Technique, KJ Method are some examples. These techniques are classified into some categories, and their main characteristics are examined in this paper. Guidelines for applying the techniques are also provided.

  • Since scientific management techniques are introduced into Korea about 1958, the backwardness of Korea companies and the ignorant owners of the companies had been main obstacles in aboriginality of those techniques. With the activation of industry in 1970s, however, the adaptation of IE is also activated. This paper, although it may be slipshod, describes the present situation as well as the adaptation history of IE techniques. This is for the expected necessity of memorizing the introduction of IE in the future.
