TOEM strategy is widely used in Japan and Korea because of the diverse advantages such as cost sharing, technology transfer, equipment lease and base technology acquisition between parent company and OEM supplier. There are, however, some disadvantages that (1)OEM suppliers are likely to be reactive to environmental changes and (2) may have difficulty in building competitive position and long-term growth. When the parent company relocates its plant to foreign countries to achieve lower labor cost or to enhance value added this change will affect directly the OEM supplier's outcome. The parent company's divestiture from existing businesses will also affect the OEM supplier. For the OEM supplier to survive in face of these strategic changes it must enter the new countries with the parent company. Alternatively, the OEM supplier must actively diversify its technologies based on its core capabilities of existing product and process technologies and seek new business arenas. The strategy of aligning its businesses with the parent company's new business strategy allows the OEM supplier to share the new market while it requires the OEM supplier to develop core capabilities. In Korea many small and medium sized OEM suppliers are dependent on a few large companies. For the industry structure in Korea where industry concentration is extremely high OEM suppliers should move away from the past strategy, where they are dependent on the parent company's low profitability businesses. They should actively enter new businesses for which parent companies enter to achieve long-term growth.
Gyeongnam province is well known for its high concentration on machinery manufacturing industry. However, this province is losing competitive advantage due to the lack of IT S/W industry. In this paper, we propose a way for adoption of u-Manufacturing technology to promote IT S/W industry in Gyeongnam. At first, we identified the needs of manufacturing companies and the capabilities of the IT S/W companies with survey. Based on the survey analysis, then we set up the u-Manufacturing concept and proposed Manufacturing IT middleware to support it. Finally, we proposed a strategy to promote smoothly the adoption of u-Manufacturing technology in this area.
This study examines the relationship of the industry-specific factors that effect innovation of manufacturing technology and the market share within the defense industry. Since the establishment of the basic defense industry framework in 1973, there were numerous interactions of the industry-specific factors of the defense industry structure with the technological innovation and market organization of the defense industry. During last three decades, the domestic defense industry has achieved the considerable level but the framework of the basic system has not developed much in areas of the military science and the defense manufacturing technology. Industry-specific factors were formed in the process and appeared in a variety of behavioral characteristics as subsystems. Currently, there IS a growing trend where the management of defense industry is gradually deteriorating due to limitation of the domestic industry-specific factor (e.g. defense technologies, amount of demand, etc.). If there is a prominent imbalance of the industry-specific factors. it can trigger the potential problem of conflict, lack of cooperation and control, slowing the growth of the manufacturing technology thereby diminishing the market and deteriorating the defense supply/demand relationship. In a research conducted by Joe S. Bain, Bain analyzed the relationship of the traditional industrial organization where industry-specific factor(S) not only impacts the conductor(C). And, conductor(C) influences the shaping of the performance(P) of relationship of the traditional industrial organization. Consequently, the researcher has identified the demand monopoly, barriers to entry, and market competition with comparison of defense industry issues. These defense issues were three industry-specific factors identified, which are 1) The demand monopoly and The entry barriers to new market competition, 2) the industrial technical factor to a production technical competitiveness and a market sharing competitiveness, 3) the probability factor to revolution for military affairs(RMA) and a R&D production. According to baseline with these factors, the following research model is established from the special companies group(Group A), the systematization companies group(Group B), and the general companies group(Group 0. The hypothesis is that if there are more industry-specific factors, then there will be more relationships of defense industry relation statutes. This research is an empirical study on the relationship that the industry specific factors effects the innovation of manufacturing technology and the shaping of the market in the defense industry. Moreover, the existing models to evaluate the industry specific factors of the defense industry IS much to be desired with the controlled statistical analysis of the result. It is vital to study on current situation with suggesting alternative strategy to the efficient strategy. The descriptive analysis approach analysis is conducted with SPSSWIN to conduct reliability test, factor analysis, correlation analysis, cross-tabulation analysis, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. However, there were some limitations of the survey such as the rigidity of concept about the technical factors and various market management factors. The wishes is that the decision-maker could be utilized these defence industrial factors to formulate efficient defence policy and strategy in the future.

Many public organizations have been adopting and operating various servers. These servers run on Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems that generally use less than 10% of their capacity. For migrating a public organization to cloud computing, we must first virtualize the server environment. This article proposes a strategy for server virtualization that the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) has done and describes the effects of a public organization migrating to cloud computing. The NIPA Computer Center planned an effective virtualization migration on various servers. This project of virtualization migration was conducted with the existing policy of separate x86 servers and Unix servers. There are three popular approaches to server virtualization: a virtual machine model, a paravirtual machine model, and virtualization at the operating system layer. We selected a VMware solution that uses the virtual machine model. We selected servers for virtualization in the following manner. Servers were chosen that had the highest rate of service usage and CPU usage and had been operating for five years or more. However, we excluded servers that require 80% or greater rates of CPU usage. After adopting the server virtualization technique, we consolidated 32 servers into 3 servers. Virtualization is a technology that can provide benefits in these areas: server consolidation and optimization, infrastructure cost reduction and improved operational flexibility, and implementation of a dual computing environment.

This research empirically examined the determinants of competitive advantages and performance of Korean film industry from 1996 to 2003 over a sample of 396 movies. Especially, the effects of knowledge-based resources, social capital, product differentiation strategy, and market entry strategy on a film performance were hypothesized and empirically tested. Findings of this study are as follows; First, confirming the importance of knowledge-based resources in film industry, both the superior business track records of producers and the superior artistic track records of directors and actors had positive effects on film performance. Second, supporting social capital hypotheses, while the strong ties between directors and producers had positive effects, the strong ties between directors and actors had negative effects on film performance. Third, confirming the importance of product differentiation strategy, genre differentiation against competing films had positive effects on film performance. Finally, confirming the importance of market entry timing, the number of competing films released following a film opening within a week had negative effects on film performance. The findings of this research suggest that producers, directors, and actors are not only the critical knowledge-based resources to create competitive advantages indeed, but the pattern of relationships among them also systematically influences the film performance. Moreover, it is suggested that film performance may be improved by the proper genre differentiation and opening day selection.
It should be unthinkable to not provide water at survival of any living things. Water is too a basic element for development for a country. Currently, the global market of mineral water is growing rapidly. This study, I conceptualized mineral water as bottled water. In particularly, bottled water has seen huge global growth for the last few years. The annual growth rate of the market in the period 2005-2009 was 5.9%. Following a surge in obesity and subsequent health and wellness trends, many consumers are switching from sugary soft drinks to healthier alternatives. Therefore, the global bottled water market is one area which has big potential for growth, but price competition is getting intensified among multi-national and domestic firms. Korean providers too are faced with strong competition in growing domestic market. The bottled water market has presence of multinational provider like Nestle, Danone and Coca-Cola, which collectively account for 35.1% of the world market share in 2009. On the basis of a market orientation approach, this article looks at changing environments in the world mineral water industry and attempts to describe foreign market entry strategy of the Korean mineral water industry. The market orientation provides strong norms for learning from customers and competitors, is instrumental in creating a superior value for buyers, innovating successfully, and generating excellent firm performance. So firms should consider a strategic planning in basis on market orientation before they enter foreign markets. Some discussions were made about managerial implications for Korean bottled water providers.
The power plant companies reached the culmination for growth in the domestic market. Besides, we have faced many challenges such as an electricity opening market trend for overseas, banning the use of coal due to the United nations framework convention on climate change, and the meticulous attention regarding the government's electricity charge plan. On the other hand, the overseas business has been a critical issue since China and many other developing countries expanded their projects abroad. Another factor is that power plant industry is being privatized, and it made the market regulation a bit loose. Thus, the market environment became favorable toward those companies which planned many overseas businesses. In this research, the power plant company's current condition for construction and operation as well as its technical competitiveness were analyzed, and an alternative plan using SWOT analysis for entering an oversea market was made. It dealt with both internal and external factors. Also, examined was the current situation under the power plant industry dealing with restructure for electric industry, lack of fossil fuel, and the United nations framework convention on climate change. From the research, it was suggested that many successful strategies to enter the overseas business by using the market trend I researched.

Purpose: As one of the ongoing studies on the distribution industry, the purpose of this study is to identify the research trends on online shopping so far to propose not only the development of online shopping companies but also the possibility of coexistence between online and offline retailers and the development of the distribution industry. Research design, data and methodology: In this study, the English abstracts of 645 papers on online shopping registered in scienceON were obtained. For the analysis through BERTopic and LDA using Python 3.7 and identifying which topics were interesting to researchers. Results: As a result of word frequency analysis and co-occurrence analysis, it was found that studies related to online shopping were frequently conducted on factors such as products, services, and shopping malls. As a result of BERTopic, five topics such as 'service quality' and 'sales strategy' were derived, and as a result of LDA, three topics including 'purchase experience' were derived. It was confirmed that 'Customer Recommendation' and 'Fashion Mall' showed relatively high interest, and 'Sales Strategy' showed relatively low interest. Conclusions: It was suggested that more diverse studies related to the online shopping mall platform, sales content, and usage influencing factors are needed to develop the online shopping industry.

This research analyzes the current state of the semiconductor industry delivering the prediction for the future development of the semiconductor industry along with some semiconductor memory's responsive strategies. In the 2014, top 10 semiconductor companies were targeted and studied its growth based on its profitability and growth indications in perspective during three years. The system semiconductor industry with the increase in Hyper-scale customers, proactive actions in the technology consortium, is polarizing caused by increased R&D expense to ensure process scaling limits and high performance, and some results have shown: PC and Mobile slowdown and growth recession phenomenon due to IoT's unclear direction. The leading company is to secure new growth engines through 'Acquiring'. While as the subordinated companies following this consecutive survival through the 'Acquired', the future of system semiconductor industry is to strengthen the market dominance and its techniques by concentrating on the reorganization of the market by few large companies. Accordingly, the semiconductor memory industry is expected to reach the limit of its expansion to domain of system semiconductor, and it is highly suggesting the need of the 'Memory Life Extension' growth strategy.
