Uranium Resources of Mongolia (몽골의 우라늄자원)

  • Uranium resources of Mongolia are generally confined to sediments deposited during Jurassic to Cretaceous volcanism. Territory of Mongolian uranium deposits is divided into four districts as follows; Mongol-Priargun, Gobi-Tamtsag, Hentii-Dauer, North-Mongolian. Potential uranium deposits were discovered by Airborne Gamma ray Spectrometric Survey(AGSM). One of them, Haraat deposit, which was interested to us, has been under detailed survey for exploitation by one of American companies, Concord company. The Erdes uranium mine is partly operated by about hundred Russian staffs at the open pit, while underground mining facilities such as the main hoist are almost closed. Ore minerals of the Erdes Mine are coffinite and pitchblende. Uranium content in ore ranges from 0.06% to 1%, averaging 0.2%. Ore reserves of uranium ore in the Dornod deposit including the Erdes Mine accounts 29,000 ton. It is reported that Uranium resources of Mongolia are 1,471,000 ton.

Fisheries Resources -A Brief Introduction of the Republic of Senegal

  • Fish is a major source of protein for the Senegalese population. Fishing plays a dominant role in the Government's policy towards generating employment. It currently generates about 100,000 direct jobs (fishermen) for nationals, of which more than 90% are in small-scale fishing. The fishing industry also contributes to Government revenue through different agreements. In addition to associated dues, fishing agreements imply a series of economic, trade and technical counterparts. Under the latest fishing agreement concluded by Senegal and the European Union (1997-2001), direct financial compensation amounts to about CFAF 32 billion. Despite its economic and social importance, the sector has to face serious disequilibria both in resource exploitation and market supply: the coastal demersal (deep lying fish) stocks with high market value (mostly exported) are fully and even over-exploited, with a serious risk of local market supply shortages looming ahead as the fishing effort shifts from locally consumed species to export-oriented ones.

Hybrid Fireworks Algorithm with Dynamic Coefficients and Improved Differential Evolution

  • Fireworks Algorithm (FWA) is a new heuristic swarm intelligent algorithm inspired by the natural phenomenon of the fireworks explosion. Though it is an effective algorithm for solving optimization problems, FWA has a slow convergence rate and less information sharing between individuals. In this paper, we improve the FWA. Firstly, explosion operator and explosion amplitude are analyzed in detail. The coefficient of explosion amplitude and explosion operator change dynamically with iteration to balance the exploitation and exploration. The convergence performance of FWA is improved. Secondly, differential evolution and commensal learning (CDE) significantly increase the information sharing between individuals, and the diversity of fireworks is enhanced. Comprehensive experiment and comparison with CDE, FWA, and VACUFWA for the 13 benchmark functions show that the improved algorithm was highly competitive.

  • Implementing conventional DFT solution for arrays of DNN accelerators having large number of processing elements (PEs), without considering architectural characteristics of PEs may incur overwhelming test overheads. Recent DFT based techniques have utilized the homogeneity and dataflow of arrays at PE-level and Core-level for obtaining reduction in; test pattern volume, test time, test power and ATPG runtime. This paper reviews these contemporary test solutions for ASIC based DNN accelerators. Mainly, the proposed test architectures, pattern application method with their objectives are reviewed. It is observed that exploitation of architectural characteristic such as homogeneity and dataflow of PEs/ arrays results in reduced test overheads.

Discovering AI-enabled convergences based on BERT and topic network

  • Various aspects of artificial intelligence (AI) have become of significant interest to academia and industry in recent times. To satisfy these academic and industrial interests, it is necessary to comprehensively investigate trends in AI-related changes of diverse areas. In this study, we identified and predicted emerging convergences with the help of AI-associated research abstracts collected from the SCOPUS database. The bidirectional encoder representations obtained via the transformers-based topic discovery technique were subsequently deployed to identify emerging topics related to AI. The topics discovered concern edge computing, biomedical algorithms, predictive defect maintenance, medical applications, fake news detection with block chain, explainable AI and COVID-19 applications. Their convergences were further analyzed based on the shortest path between topics to predict emerging convergences. Our findings indicated emerging AI convergences towards healthcare, manufacturing, legal applications, and marketing. These findings are expected to have policy implications for facilitating the convergences in diverse industries. Potentially, this study could contribute to the exploitation and adoption of AI-enabled convergences from a practical perspective.

  • Informative contents Industry shows stable capital structure, excellent profit index high growth rate and high productivity on the average in step with the evolution of digital technology, but it shows the aggravating trend gradually in almost all the indexes. It is because the enlargement of supply market proceeds so faster than the increase of market demand that the competition is intensified and relatively easy to advance into the market according to the development of informative contents industry. The exploitation of new market and the reclamation of new technology are needed to contrive the continuous prosperity of informative contents industry, and to achieve this, it is needed to support from politic financing and taxation politic aspect.

  • In recent years, the change of urban function and the decrease in birth rate have given rise to merge, abolition and relocation of the existing schools. This study explores the possibilities for various land utilizations of disused school sites, using the trial case of 'M' elementary school at Bu-pyung Gu in Incheon Metropolitan City. 'M' elementary school has recently happened to need no more land to build another school because of decreasing the number of students. Firstly, it studies the land reuse theories in city, the development methodologies of disused sites and the legalistic and political authority and limits. It analyzes the urban spacial values and roles, such as the educational roles, spacial functions and development values of the land. In addition, this study make a questionnaire of local residents to converge the public opinions on the utilization of disused school site. Finally, it proposes the principal direction for the effective appropriation and an alternative for exploitation of school site targeting disused school site of 'M' elementary school.

Production, Assessment and Marketing of Lichens for Economic Upliftment and Livelihood Generation of Rural Communities in Kumaun Himalaya

  • Collection of lichen together with tree twigs of oak and other trees bearing abundant growth of lichens is a common practice among the villagers and the rivals residing near Oak forests in Kumaun Himalaya. Nainital forest division represents about Twenty nine percent vegetation of the Oak forest in Kumaun Himalaya. In Kumaun, the lichen trade share is decreasing at an alarming rate of 21.93% which requires immediate actions by the Government. Lichen contributed significantly to household earnings with off-farm activities and this sector was found second highest income creator after Agriculture. It is a source of cash income during the season of extraction, which increases economic access to food. It has been observed in the present study that the secondary collector and transporters together get maximum share (>50%) of income generated from lichen, thus economic exploitation of the poorly educated people by the traders was still prevalent in the area. To improve the socio-economic standard of the people of Kumaun, it may is necessary to increase and improve the lichens resources of the area. There is a strong need for scientific management, best harvesting practices and strict monitoring of resources. The present study was conducted to assess the present and future resource potential for the conservation and sustainable management of lichens, existing market mechanism, role of Lichens in economic upliftment and livelihood generation of rural communities in Kumaun Himalaya.

Projecting Performance of a Daylighting Source Based on Its Architectura Applications in the Open-Top Surface Structure (고심도 공간의 건축적 특성에 따른 자연집광 시스템의 조명원적 성능분석)

  • A lightcourt design is typically used to address issues concerning aesthetics, feeling, and mood. From the view point of environmental aspect, as an ecological shaft space, it plays a key role in controlling inner quality. In particularly, the lightcourt concept allows the exploitation of daylighting by bring natural light into the center of the building, thus eliminating dark deep spaces. Additionally, the lightcourt shades the inner space in summer. The amount of light available at the base of the lightcourt depends on a number of factors; translucency of the top, reflectance and the geometry of the space. In this paper is to exemplify a lightcourt configuration with a sloped wall. It promises the maximized a sense of freedom and daylighting availability. It is a matter of course that the lightcourt with open-top plays a role as a light source for the adjacent space to the lightcourt. A series of lighting simulation provides performance data of daylighting with changing photometric factors. For the case that a skylight is not available, an electric lighting design with metal halide lamps has been established to create luminous ceiling. As expected, a sloped lightcourt with open-top exposes its superiority of daylighting source. Ancillary considerations to enhance of daylighting potential for the adjacent space have been issued with performance data.

A Study on the Meaning and Future of the Moon Treaty (달조약의 의미와 전망에 관한 연구)

  • This article focused on the meaning of the 1979 Moon Treaty and its future. Although the Moon Treaty is one of the major 5 space related treaties, it was accepted by only 11 member states which are non-space powers, thus having the least enfluences on the field of space law. And this article analysed the relationship between the 1979 Moon Treay and 1967 Space Treaty which was the first principle treaty, and searched the meaning of the "Common Heritage of Mankind(hereinafter CHM)" stipulated in the Moon treaty in terms of international law. This article also dealt with the present and future problems arising from the Moon Treaty. As far as the 1967 Space Treaty is concerned the main standpoint is that outer space including the moon and the other celestial bodies is res extra commercium, areas not subject to national appropriation like high seas. It proclaims the principle non-appropriation concerning the celestial bodies in outer space. But the concept of CHM stipulated in the Moon Treaty created an entirely new category of territory in international law. This concept basically conveys the idea that the management, exploitation and distribution of natural resources of the area in question are matters to be decided by the international community and are not to be left to the initiative and discretion of individual states or their nationals. Similar provision is found in the 1982 Law of the Sea Convention that operates the International Sea-bed Authority created by the concept of CHM. According to the Moon Treaty international regime will be established as the exploitation of the natural resources of the celestial bodies other than the Earth is about to become feasible. Before the establishment of an international regime we could imagine moratorium upon the expoitation of the natural resources on the celestial bodies. But the drafting history of the Moon Treaty indicates that no moratorium on the exploitation of natural resources was intended prior to the setting up of the international regime. So each State Party could exploit the natural resources bearing in mind that those resouces are CHM. In this respect it would be better for Korea, now not a party to the Moon Treaty, to be a member state in the near future. According to the Moon Treaty the efforts of those countries which have contributed either directly or indirectly the exploitation of the moon shall be given special consideration. The Moon Treaty, which although is criticised by some space law experts represents a solid basis upon which further space exploration can continue, shows the expression of the common collective wisdom of all member States of the United Nations and responds the needs and possibilities of those that have already their technologies into outer space.
