In this paper, the concept of maximal ideals relative to a filter on posets is introduced and examined. An intrinsic characterization of distributive lattices is obtained. In addition, we also give a characterization of pseudo primes in semicontinuous lattices and a characterization of semicontinuous lattices. Functions of semicontinuous lattices which are order preserving and semicontinuous are studied. A new concept of semiarithmetic lattices is introduced and examined.

Let R be a ring, and let $\Psi$(R) be the ideal generated by the set {x $\in$R | 1 + sxt $\in$ R is unit-regular for all s, t $\in$ R}. We show that $\Psi$(R) has "radical-like" property. It is proven that $\Psi$(R) has stable range one. Thus, diagonal reduction of matrices over such ideal is reduced.

Korea Power Exchange has successfully performed the Long-term Electricity Demand Forecasting. Recently there is a lot of change in electricity industry sector; the national master-plan for green gas emission reducing, rise of smart-grid, and new trend of electricity consumption, and it is becoming painful challenging for demand forecasting. In new circumstance the demand forecasting is required more flexible and more accurate.

For an M/G/1 processor-sharing queue with batch arrivals, Avrachenkov et al. [1] conjectured that the conditional mean sojourn time is concave. However, Kim and Kim [5] showed that this conjecture is not true in general. In this paper, we show that this conjecture is true if the service times have a hyperexponential distribution.

The Weyl group of a compact connected Lie group is a reflection group. If such Lie groups are locally isomorphic, the representations of the Weyl groups are rationally equivalent. They need not however be equivalent as integral representations. Turning to the invariant theory, the rational cohomology of a classifying space is a ring of invariants, which is a polynomial ring. In the modular case, we will ask if rings of invariants are polynomial algebras, and if each of them can be realized as the mod p cohomology of a space, particularly for dihedral groups.

The article is devoted to exhibit some general properties of strong chain recurrent set and strong chain transitive components for a continuous map f on a compact metric space X. We investigate the relation between the weak shadowing property and strong chain transitivity. It is shown that a continuous map f from a compact metric space X onto itself with the average shadowing property is strong chain transitive.

Even though there is a formula for $h^0$(X, $\cal{O}_X(nK_X)$) for a canonical threefold X, it is not easy to compute $h^0$(X, $\cal{O}_X(nK_X)$) because the formula has a term due to singularities. In this paper, we find a way to control the term due to singularities. We show nonvanishing of plurigenus for the case when the index r in the singularity type $\frac{1}{r}$(1, -1, b) is sufficiently large.

We will show that if d is a cubefree integer and n is an integer, then with some suitable conditions, there are no primes p and a positive integer m such that d is a cubic residue (mod p), $3\;{\nmid}\;m$, p || n if and only if there are integers x, y, z such that $$x^3\;+\;dy^3\;+\;d^2z^3\;-\;3dxyz\;=\;n$$.

Himalphalangium spinulatum (Roewer, 1911) collected from Gijang-gun, Busan-city, Korea is redescribed with spination of leg, detailed illustrations including SEM photographs for the first time. Bidentolophus bidens (Simon, 1880) as a junior synonym of Opilio koreanus Charitonov, 1957 from North Korea is additionally reported in the Korean fauna. Also, a key to the species of Korean subfamily Opilioninae is provided.

Paramolgus orientalis n. sp. is described as an associate of the antipatharian coral Antipathes japonicus from Jeju Island, Korea. The new species is distinguished from its three relatives P. constrictus, P. delicatulus, and P. insectus, all known from antipatharians in tropical waters, by its long caudal ramus which is more than four times as long as wide, by the possession of 4 setae on maxillule, and by other morphological differences in the antenna and maxilla.
