A Broadband Microstrip Array Antenna for PCS/IMT-2000 Base-Station (PCS/IMT-2000 기지국용 광대역 마이크로스트립 배열 안테나)

  • In this paper, a broadband microstrip antenna for PCS and IMT-2000 service is designed. To obtain the broadband characteristics of an antenna, we utilized the multi-layered structure composed of two foam material layers, parasitic element and aperture coupled feeding network. The broadband characteristic is obtained by changing the size of parasitic element and the height of foam materials. In addition to that, the usage of metal layer at the distance of λ/4 from feed-line, back radiation is reduced. The bandwidth of a single element for VSWR less than 1.3 is about 550MHz. The bandwidth of a designed 1$\times$4 array antenna for VSWR less than 1.3 is about 460MHz. The gain of a designed array antenna is about 11.15∼12.15dBi and the front-to-back ratio is about 30dB.

  • The Multi-Code CDMA systems that are proposed as an effective transmission methodology in the IMT-2000 systems allow higher rate services under the IS-95 CDMA infrastructure. The Multi-Code CDMA systems convert the higher rate data into the lower rate by serial to parallel operation and spread the converted data streams by the multiple walsh codes, and its mobile receiver needs multiple walsh generators and data correlators to demodulate simultaneously multiple walsh code channels. Therefore, the number of data correlators is increased as the number of traffic channels increases. In this paper, we proposed the new structure of the data correlators using walsh overlay coding, the shared accumulator, and FWHT(Fast Walsh Hadamard Transform) algorithm for reducing the bottle-neck effect resulting the increase of the number of data correlators.

  • This paper describes a CMOS low noise amplifier (LNA) with bias current reusing architecture intended lot use in the front-end of IMT-2000 receiver. It has been implemented in a 0.35$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS process with two poly and four metal layers. In order to accuracy of simulation, we considered a bonding wire and a pad effect and used the measurements of capacitors and on-chip inductors which implemented in the same process. The LNA has a forward gain (S21) of 17 ㏈ and a noise fjgure of 1.26 ㏈. And it has a third-order intermodulation intercept point (IP3) of +3.15 ㏈m and a 1㏈ compression point (P1㏈) of -16 ㏈m, input referred, respectively. The power consumption is 19 ㎽ from a 3V supply.

  • Advanced FeedForward method use Predistortion method and FeedForward method simultaneously. This method better than original Feedforward method in linearity and supply smaller power to pre-power amplifier than different methods, and then it has higher power efficiency and better linearity than original Feedforward method. A linear power amplifier using Advanced feedforward method is designed and fabricated for IMT-2000 transmission system (2110㎒ -2170M㎓). This amplifier's power gain is about 40㏈ and it's 3-rd IMD(Intermodulation distortion) are smaller than about -55㏈c(@ 10MHz).

  • The wideband DS-CDMA (W-CDMA) system is one of the candidates for the next generation mobile communication system known as IMT-2000. The important concept of W-CDMA is the introduction of intercell asynchronous operation. In this paper, we design and analyze the system level simulator for the International Mobile Tele communication - 2000 (IMT-2000) 3-rd generation partnership project (3GPP) system. We confirm how the simulator works by BER over different Eb/NO. This study will be expected to use as reference data in the development of asynchronous IMT-2000. In this paper, we analyze a physical layer of W-CDMA system and design a transmitter and receiver by using ADS (Advanced Design System). Also, we simulated a link level performance in Rayleigh fading channel environment. This study will be useful in the analysis and design of W-CDMA system.

  • In this paper, A Feedforward Linear Power Amplifier which is appended a feedback loop for IMT-2000 was designed and fabricated. Feedback loop was used to improve the IMD(Inter-Modulation Distortion) characteristics of the main amplifier. And it is easy to cancel IMD on the min path and control IMD cancellation loop, compared with basic Feedforward Linear Power Amplifier. This feedback loop has the same effect of the Predistroter. So, This power amplifier was improved in IMD characteristics to add the effect of Predistroter to basic Feedforward amplifier. And the disigned power amplifier in this paper represented the 40dBm(10W) output and -55dBc 3rd IMD at center frequency 2.14GHz (@10MHz).

  • 본 논문에서는 IMT-2000 시스템에 대한 제안된 표준안을 기초로 송수신 시스템을 구성하여 광대역 무선채널 환경 및 다양한 시스템 운용환경에서 시스템의 성능을 분석한다. 수신 성능의 개선을 위하여 CCI(Co-Channel Interference) Canceller와 Rake 수신기를 혼합하여 기존의 Rake 수신기에서 제거할 수 없었던 자기 간섭(Auto Interference)을 제거하는 새로운 Rake수신기를 제안하였다. 또한 다중 경로 페이딩 모델로는 ITU-R M.1225에서 제시된 모델을 적용하였다. 성능 분석 결과, 상대적으로 작은 지연 확산을 가지는 채널 A가 중간 지연 확산을 가지는 채널 B보다 수신성능이 양호함을 알 수 있었으며, 채널 A와 B에 관계없이 제안된 레이크 수신기를 채용하였을 경우 자기 간섭의 제거 효과로 인해 수신성능이 기존의 레이크 수신기를 채용하였을 경우에 비해 향상됨은 알 수 있었다. 또한 간섭제거기와 제안된 레이크 수신기를 직렬로 연결한 수신기를 채용하였을 경우 다중접속간섭을 효과적으로 제거할 수 있었으며, 수신성능의 차이는 채널 환경이 양호할수록, $E_{b/}$N/ sub o/값이 커질수록 차이가 커짐을 알 수 있었다.다.

  • In this paper, We propose design and implementation method of Modulator for IMT-2000 over reverse link. Parameters necessary for each block use those specified in cdma2000, i.e. standard for third generation cellular mobile communication which is proposed in currently North America. As software tool for modulator design, We implemented using MAX+PLUS II that ALTERA support. Our System is totally composed of eight block and make it possible to transmit four channels(PICH, FCH, SCH, DCCH) simultaneously. Also the system is designed to make it possible to transmit data up to maximum 384kbps.

  • In this paper, the wideband microstrip patch antennas for the Personal communications Service $(PCS\;:\;1750\~1870\;MHz)$ and International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 $(IMT-2000\;:\;1920\~2170\;MHz)$ dual band are studied. Experimental and simulation results on the dual band antenna are presented. Simulation results are in good agreement with measurements. The experimental and simulation results confirm the wideband characteristics of the antenna. The studied antenna satisfied the wideband characteristics that are required characteristics for above 420 MHz impedance bandwidth for the PCS and IMT-2000 dual band antenna. In this paper, through the designing of a dual band antenna, we have presented the availability for PCS & IMT-2000 base station antenna. An impedance bandwidth of $31\%(VSWR<1.5,\;615\;MHz)$ and a maximum gain of 7dBi can be achieved. The radiation pattern is stable across the passband.

  • IMT-2000은 유선통신 시장에서 확고히 자리잡은 인터넷 서비스와 멀티미디어 고속 데이터정보를 무선으로 공급하고자 하는 사용자의 요구를 충족시키기 위해 등장하였다. 그러나 이러한 서비스는 무선망을 통하여 제공되기 때문에 그 특성상 전송로가 노출되어 있어 허가반지 않은 사용자에 의한 불법적인 절취사용과 악의를 가진 제3자가 공유된 전송매체를 통해 전파를 도청하기 쉽다는 문제점을 가지고 있다 따라서 이동 무선 환경에서의 보안과 인증문제는 필수적인 사항이라고 할 수 있다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 기존의 인증 방식을 분석하고 사용자의 식별을 위한 쌍방향 인증 프로토콜을 설계하고 그 효율성을 분석하였다.
