Incheon International Airport (IIA) is trying to boost itself up for the Hub airport with a proactive marketing and large scale of airport expansion plan. Even the transfer rate of IIA for now is not high enough for a Hub airport, it is expected to keep increase for the future due to an effort to be the Hub. This study is to be made for setting the standards of airport planning as to the transfer rate based on the research of operational characteristics of Hub airport.

As Incheon International Airport(IIA) is located in an island 50-km away from Seoul, various travel equipments for access are required. So far two connecting bridges are constructed funded by civilian funds. For the further bridge construction, the reduction of forecast traffic amount and the government subsidy for the civilian funds are big issues. Comparing the access traffics of IIA to those other competing airports, traffic conditions inside the airport are superior to other competing airports from the management point of view, as utilization conditions and equipment capacities are periodically monitored and evaluated to set up comprehensive countermeasures following constructing by stages. However, while the accessability to IIA is very important, as IIA is built on an island the conflicts between near-by developers and traffic facility operators make further bridge construction difficult. As improving the accessibility to an airport is not easy to achieve only by the IIA management's efforts, the central government level authorities should organize a committee with agencies concerned and analyze the characteristics of access traffic periodically to suggest reform measures for each organization concerned to implement appropriate undertakings at apt timing. For the future, central government's level empirical research on the airport accessibility for synthetic and systematic plan set-up is expected.
After it first opened in 2001, Incheon International Airport (IIA) has grown into a world-class airport, leaving remarkable traces, such as being the first airport to win the ASQ Airport Serivce Price for 10 consecutive years. However, ever since its birth IIA has tried to position itself as the leading hub airport of Northeast Asia. Until this day, it has not been meeting this goal, with transfer passenger numbers and transfer rates decreasing recently. This study looks at the outer environment to discover which factors affect IIA's transfer market. Through extensive research on external analysis, the study will eventually provide a counter strategy guideline for fighting back against decreasing transfer usage.
Incheon International Airport(IIA) is planned to open in about two years. Korean government has an ambition to make IIA a major hub airport in Northeast Asia. The most essential and required condition for an airport to be a successful hub airport in a certain region is to have more efficient flight service network than the other airports in the same region. IIA should compete with Japanese airports to be a major hub in Northeast Asia because Japanese government also has a plan to expand greatly the airport capacity in Tokyo area and Kansai airport in Osaka. It is necessary for both IIA and Korean national air carriers to compose efficient flight service network considering hub competition with Japanese major airports. As the liberalization of international air transport industry would give more marketing freedom to airlines, they would plan the flight service network and flight schedule based on market analysis instead of governmental regulations. In the economically liberalized environment, it is very required to analyze air passengers' flight choice behaviour in order to induce other carriers and passengers through IIA's attractive flight service network. Disaggregate model is more appropriate than aggregate model to analyze consumers' behaviour. The information derived from disaggregate choice model of air passengers could be utilized in devising efficient flight network and schedule plan. Value of travel time or trade off ratio between flight frequency and travel time which could be estimated from discrete choice model could be utilized for scheduling an efficient flight plan for airlines and composing efficient flight service network for IIA.

The number of Chinese tourists entering Korea has constantly increased since 2000. The number of Chinese visitors who have entered though Incheon International Airport last year was 2.75 million, making Chinese citizens the greatest in number out of all foreign visitors. Considering the importance they have on the Korean aviation market, an examination into their airport usage patterns and satisfaction is essential. For the purpose of this study, the Northeastern region of China was chosen. This region has an even distribution in monthly entrants to korea, and has a dual system of Socialist and Capitalist economies. The following study aims to examine the airport use behavior of Northeastern Chinese passengers, and to provide a strategic guideline regarding this. The following empirical study was attempted by surveying Northeastern Chinese passengers who use Incheon International Airport (IIA). Questions included those regarding airport service and facility usage of IIA, and the patterns of Northeastern Chinese passengers regarding this.
Ever since the permission of overseas travel by the Chinese government in 1983, the Chinese outbound travel market has been growing at an expanding rate. The Republic of Korea has been able to reap great benefits from this growth, and this has been noticeable especially in the aviation market. Chinese passengers count for 23.9% of the total passengers at Incheon International Airport (IIA), and it is no doubt Chinese passengers will remain important customers for IIA. Given the fact that China has such a huge territory and possesses a population of more than 1.3 billion, there rises the need to divide China into smaller regions. By doing so, the different thoughts Chinese passengers have, and the actions they show in terms of travel and airport service consumption according to differing regions can be figured out. With knowledge of the differences, IIA can provide different services to fit Chinese passengers from differing regions, hence increasing the total consumer value and satisfaction rate of IIA. This study has divided China into 5 different regions according to official regional recognition of China, and difference of economical, social factors, etc... With the results obtained from this study, different strategies can be implemented for the 5 regions.
The original Fog Stability Index (FSI) is formulated as FSI=$2(T-T_d)+2(T-T_{850})+WS_{850}$, where $T-T_d$ is dew point deficit (temperature-dew point temperature), $T-T_{850}$ is atmospheric stability measure (temperature-temperature at 850 hPa altitude) and $WS_{850}$ is wind speed at 850 hPa altitude. As a way to improve fog prediction at Incheon International Airport (IIA), we develop the modified FSI for IIA, using the meteorological data at IIA for two years from June 2011 to May 2013, the first one year for development and the second one year for validation. The relative contribution of the three parameters of the modified FSI is 9: 1: 0, indicating that $WS_{850}$ is found to be a non-contributing factor for fog formation at IIA. The critical success index (CSI) of the modified FSI is 0.68. Further development is made to consider the fact that fogs at IIA are highly influenced by advection of moisture from the Yellow Sea. One added parameter after statistical evaluation of the several candidate parameters is the dew point deficit at a buoy over the Yellow Sea. The relative contribution of the four parameters (including the new one) of the newly developed FSI is 10: 2: 0.5: 6.4. The CSI of the new FSI is 0.50. Since the developmental period of one year is too short, the FSI should be refined more as the data are accumulated more.

Purpose: This study aims to enhance airport service quality by examining their impact on brand image, advocacy, and mediating brand trust in the aviation service distribution sector. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: Using existing literature, we propose a structural model exploring the relationships between key components which are service quality, brand trust, brand Image and brand advocacy. An online survey, based on prior literature, was administered to 287 Koreans who have experienced using facilities or services at Incheon International Airport (IIA). Statistical analysis employed confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modelling (SEM). Results: Research findings show significant impacts of airport service quality on brand trust. Increased brand trust positively influences airport brand image and advocacy. Conclusion: The study emphasizes the aviation industry's potential to boost brand trust through improved airport service quality via users' interactions. Service quality is critical factors in building brand trust. The findings emphasize the critical role of service quality in fostering brand trust. It underscores the importance of user's satisfaction with service quality in fostering brand trust which can lead to brand image and brand advocacy. The aviation industry should formulate policies and strategies to enhance brand trust improved service quality, thereby improving brand image and brand advocacy.
In airport terminal, aural information is transmitted during 24 hours a day including announcement, background music and emergency control. So, clear sound is mostly necessary to transmitted to the passengers in airports. IIA (Incheon International Airport) is one of the largest airports accommodating 45 million people a year which have been built since 2001. There are currently three passenger terminals including Terminal 1 & 2, and boarding concourse. The $2^{nd}$ passenger terminal is under construction to expand the spaces which will be finished in 2020. The present work aims to explain the design principles of both architectural acoustics and electo-acoustics which have been applied to all the terminal buildings in IIA including ticketing counter, great hall, departure concourse and transportation center. Also, the acoustical performances of those spaces were examined. As a result, acoustic standards for airport were suggested. Architectural concepts for designing ceiling spaces and sound absorption treatments were suggested. Also, electro-acoustic design principles were commented.
The construction of Incheon International Airport(IIA) was planned in order to meet the national air transport demand which has been rapidly increased, and to be a major hub airport in Northeast Asia. However, it is inevitable to compete with Japanese airports because Japanese government also planned to expand greatly the airport capacity in Tokyo area and Kansai Airport in Osaka area. Since a hub airport should have convenient connecting flights to spoke cities, it is required for IIA to have plenty of short-haul flights to the cities around Seoul, for example, to the cities in East China, Japan and other East Asian countries. IIA authority and Korean national air carriers should coordinate to develop air transport demand for short-haul international route and establish efficient hub-spoke flight schedules. This would be a essential precondition to function as a hinterland hub in Northeast Asia. Reflecting the geographical position, the function as a hourglass hub could be possible, if IIA is utilised by major airlines as a bridge to connect passengers between cities in Southeast Asia and 'cities in North America. To be a successful hourglass hub, the Korean national carriers must try to engage in the joint operations or the alliances with the major airlines of Southeastern countries or North American countries. All of these could be accomplished through the cooperation among government, airport and national air carriers.
