  • This paper has described in Electric Vehicle Battery Management System(EV BMS). EV BMS manages the input/output energy of the traction battery, and provides the optimum environment condition during charging/ driving through the communication with other controllers. In this paper, we introduce our BMS for Santa Fe EV. Hyundai Motor Company has been developed EV since 1990. Recently, Santa Fe EV has been demonstrating with the environmental friendly technology. Two year real road testing program with electric powered Santa Fe is being undertaken by HMC in Hawaii.

  • 소프트웨어 재사용(Software Reuse)은 소프트웨어 생산성을 높이는 방법임에도 불구하고 내장형 소프트웨어 개발 분야에서의 적용은 많은 어려움이 있다. 내장형 소프트웨어는 개발된 소프트웨어의 실행환경이 서로 다르고, 하드웨어 의존성이 높기 때문이다. 국방 분야에서의 내장형 소프트웨어는 보안성이라는 특성상 타 프로젝트의 모범사례를 적용하는 데는 정보 공유의 어려움이 있어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 MIL-STD-498에 기반하여 국방 분야의 내장형 소프트웨어 재사용 프로세스에 관해 연구하고 적용 결과를 제시하였다.

  • 국방분야의 무인지상무기체계(Unmanned Ground Vehicles)는 소프트웨어 결함 발생시 유인무기체계와 달리 응급 조치를 수행할 수 있는 사람이 탑승하지 않기 때문에 임무 수행에 치명적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 따라서, 무인지상무기체계에 탑재되는 내장형 SW의 신뢰성 있는 임무 수행을 위한 방법을 필요로 한다. 본 연구에서는 무선 Ad-hoc 네트워크로 연결된 UGV의 SW 결함을 원격으로 진단하고, 치료하기 위한 방법에 대해 연구하였다. 국방분야의 무인무기체계에 탑재된 내장형 SW의 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 적용가능하다.

An Experimental Study on Improved Fuel Economy and Lower Exhaust Emissions of New Automotive Engine adopting Split Cooling System

  • This paper presents a split cooling system for a new inline 4-cylinder automotive engine. The split cooling system circulates coolant to the cylinder head and cylinder block separately. The coolant flow in the cylinder block is controlled by a $2^{nd}$ Thermostat installed at the outlet of cylinder block. The $2^{nd}$ thermostat closes when the coolant temperature is low. And this makes the coolant flow in cylinder block nearly stagnant, thereby reducing the coolant-side heat transfer coefficient and raising cylinder bore temperature. The $2^{nd}$ thermostat starts to open when the coolant temperature reaches a specified temperature. The test results on engine dynamometer show improved fuel economy and lower exhaust emission which result from the decrease in friction works and cooling loss. Also, several vehicle tests, with application of the new engine have been performed. Fuel economy improvement of 0.5{\sim}2.0%$ yields from different test modes and details are discussed in this paper.

  • This paper describes the development of THC reduction technologies compliant with SULEV regulations. Technologies embodied by the developmental work include improvement of fuel spray atomization, quick warm-up through coolant control shut of, and acceleration of fuel atomization for the fast rise of cylinder head temp inside the water jacket as well as the improvement of combustion state. The technologies likewise entail reduced HC while operating in lean A/F condition during engine warm-up with the cold lean burn technology, individual cylinder A/F control for improvement of catalytic converting efficiency, after-treatment such as thin-wall catalyst, HC-adsorber and EHC and etc, through vehicle application evaluation in cold start. We carried out an experimental as well as a practical study against SULEV regulations, and the feasibility of adopting these items in vehicle was likewise investigated.

  • 자동차용 천연가죽 시트의 제조 공정에서 크롬과 비크롬 Metalic 탄닝제, 식물성 탄닝제, 신탄(Syntan) 및 가지제(Fatliuor) 등의 종류와 함량에 따른 인장강도, 신장율, 정하중 신율, 잔류줄음율 등을 측정하여 특정하중에 따른 콜라겐 섬유 조직의 영구변형율과의 상관관계를 비교 분석해본 결과, 크롬 및 비크롬계 탄닝제에 비해 식물성 탄닝제를 적용하였을 때 조직의 변형율이 적었으며, 리틴닝 공정에서 아크릴계, 레진계 및 단백질계 신탄을 혼합 적용하였을 때 가죽의 배(Belly)부위의 물성 균일화 효과가 우수하였으며, 음이온성 가지제 9%를 사용하여 가죽에 유연성을 부여함으로써 조직이 치밀하고 변형율이 감소되어 내구성이 우수한 결과를 나타내었다.

용가재를 사용한 디퍼렌셜 기어와 케이스 레이저 용접 연구 (Study on Laser Welding for Differential Gear & Case for Filler Wire)

  • This study is about laser welded joints in order to replace the traditional screw connection of a differential gear and its case in the differential gear assembly. Screws are usually used to join these parts. But the screws take up weight and space. So we needed to improve the joining method. In the welding of a differential gear and its case, the quality is much harder to control, because the high carbon contents of the two components results in cold cracks. But a new method that adds wire allows these materials to be joined. Additionally, more distortions generally occurs in the welded joints than in screws. We tried to prove that laser welding is an available method for joining these parts through the measurement and various tests.

Packaging Criterion for Mid-Size Sedan Based on Users' Daily-Life Scenario

  • This study has developed a packaging criterion to minimize the level of discomfort which drivers using their vehicles for daily life purposes may experience due to ill designed vehicle packaging of mid-size sedan based on users' daily-life scenario. To find out optimal range of packaging dimension criterion, discomfort levels the test participants with different physical conditions suffer while performing various activities were analyzed. One hundred two test participants were carefully selected to represent entire Korean mid-size sedan owner-drivers. They were directed to test drive on the course designed to simulate mid-size sedan daily-usage scenario. At pre-designed locations, each of questions was asked to the test participants to be answered in the form of 10 point discomfort level score. By analyzing the test results, the optimal range for packaging dimensions was defined to be used as a packaging criterion.
