Position control of Electro hydrostatic actuator (EHA) using a modified back stepping controller (백스테핑제어기를 이용한 전기유압액추에이터의 위치제어)

  • Nowadays, electro hydrostatic actuator (EHA) has shown great advantages over the conventional hydraulic actuators with valve control system. This paper presents a position control for an EHA using a modified back stepping controller. The controller is designed by combining a backstepping technique and adaptation laws via special Lyapunov functions. The control signal consists of an adaptive control signal to compensate for the nonlinearities and a simple robust structure to deal with a bounded disturbance. Experiments are carried out to investigate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

  • A seat suspension system with a controlled MR(Magneto Rheological) fluid damper is introduced to improve the ride quality and prevent the health risk of a driver compared to fixed seats. The system is located between a seat cushion and the base, and is composed of a spring, MR fluid damper and controller. The MR fluid damper designed in valve mode is capable of producing a wide range of damping force according to applied currents. In experiments, a person was sitting on the controlled seat excited by a hydraulic system The skyhook control, continuous skyhook control and relative displacement control were applied and the continuous skyhook control improved the vibration suppression by 36.6%.

  • This paper deals with the issue of model reference adaptive control strategy to control the injection molding machine. Prior to controller design, a pair of transfer functions are derived for the injection and dwelling process based on mathematical models of components. As external disturbances to examine the robustness of the proposed controller, nozzle clogging and contraction of molded objects are considered and realized by proportional valve. The overall simulation system, consisting of hydraulic components, controller and sensors, is implemented using the components of commercial software SimulationX. The simulation results confirm the proposed scheme's efficiency and robustness.

  • To reduce the shock in shifting the clutches and the brakes in automatic transmission have to be connected smoothly and disconnected rapidly. It is PCSV(Pressure Control Solenoid Valve) that play this role of automatic transmission. In this paper there were two steps in the analysis of the PCSV. The first step was modeling the elctromagnet by the permeance method. The second step was modeling the hydraulic circuit by the pressure differential equation. In addition to this modeling a experiment was performed and the commercial package program was used in order to justify modeling. The result of modeling coincide with the result of experiment and commercial package program. As a result this modeling is usable in analysis of dynamic characteractic of the PCSV.

  • The purpose of this study is to develope the computer program to compute the unsteady, transient flow conditions in a hydraulic system. The unstready flow condition may be brought about due to power failure to pump motors, pump start-up or modulation of control valve. The program was written specially for analyzing the water-hammer in the pumping system. The pumping system which can be simulated by the program can contain pipelines, tunnel, surge tanks, branched lines, reservoirs, dead end pipes and valve controls. The use of a computer program to analyze haydranlic transients is of great benifit to the designers of transmission main and distribution systems. Advantages include time savings, the ability to analyze complex piping systems, and increased accuracy. The author outlines a pogram developed for the above system.

  • Piezoelectric-based hydraulic actuator is a hybrid device consisting of a hydraulic pump driven by piezoelectric stacks that is coupled to a conventional hydraulic cylinder via a set of fast-acting valves. Nowadays, such hybrid actuators are being researched and developed actively in many developed countries by requirement of high performance and compact flight system. In this research, a piezoelectric hybrid actuator has been designed and tested. To achieve bi-directional capabilities in the actuator, solenoid valves were used to control the direction of output fluid. The experimental testing of the actuator in uni-directional and bi-directional modes was performed to examine performance issues related to the solenoid valves. The results showed that the bi-directional performance was slightly lower than uni-directional performance due to air bubble developed in the valve system. A new design to solve the vacuum problem has been proposed to improve the performance of the hybrid actuator.

항공기용 유압 스푸울 밸브의 윤활해석

  • 유압장치의 핵심부품인 유압 제어밸브(hydraulic control valve)는 유압펌프 등에 의하여 가압된 유압유의 압력과 유량을 제어하고 유동방향을 변화시키는 주요기능을 수행한다. 특히, 대부분의 제어밸브는 스푸울(spool)과 슬리브(sleeve)를 기본구조로 채용하고 있다. 피스톤 형상인 스푸울이 슬리브내를 왕복운동하면 스푸울과 슬리브 사이의 간극(clearance)에서는 점성유체인 유압유의 윤활작용에 의하여 원주방향으로 비대칭인 유체압력이 발생한다. 이 결과로 스푸울에 측력(lateral force)이 작용하며, 조건에 따라서는 스푸울에 작용하며, 조건에 따라서는 스푸울에 작용하는 마찰력이 증대할 뿐만 아니라 스푸울과 슬리브의 내벽에 과도한 마멸(wear)을 유방시키기도 하여 제어밸브의 성능을 크게 저하시키기도 한다. 유압공학분야서는 이를 유체고착(hydraulic locking) 현상이라고 부른다. 본 논문에서는 항공기 Flap actuator의 Selector manifold에서 사용되는 스푸울 밸브의 성능에 큰 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되는 스프울과 슬리브 사이 간극에서의 윤활특성을 이론적으로 조사하고자 한다.

An Analysis of Static and Dynamic Characteristics of Torque Motor (토크모터의 정특성과 동특성 해석)

  • In the early of 1950, the high response magnetic torque motor was developed for driving electro-hydraulic servo valves. Since then it has been broadly used for industrial application and the research of development or improvement of the torque motor is still being conducted. The purpose of this study is to present useful design criteria for the torque motor design. For this, torque motor is modelled and linearized. The static characteristics of the torque motor are investigated by direct computation of the derived linearlized equations. The dynamic characteristics of the torque motor are investigated with the derived transfer function by using Matlab and compared with the results of the linearlized analysis by using AMESim simulation with actual values of the physical parameters. Finally, the design criteria obtained from the analysis are reviewed.

  • This paper deals with the issue of motion control of a single rod cylinder-load system using simple adaptive control (SAC) method. Prior to controller design, the experiment of open-loop response has been performed. Based on it, design parameters of transfer function are obtained. The effect of parallel feedforward compensator has been investigated by computer simulation, suppressing the oscillatory motion. Through experiments it is conformed that the SAC method gives good tracking performance compared to the PD control method.
