  • 변형경화형 시멘트 복합체(Strain-hardening cementitious composite, SHCC)는 연성능력이 우수하여 보-기둥 접합부 영역에서 상당한 보강효과가 기대된다. 주요 변수는 시멘트 복합체의 종류(무수축몰탈, 하이브리드 SHCC) 및 보강근의 유무이다. 실험결과, 보강근이 배근된 실험체가 무수축 몰탈 실험체에 비해 전체적으로 성능이 향상된 것으로 나타났다.

  • Epoxy composite reinforced with 3-D braided Glass/Aramid hybrid fabric was fabricated. FBG sensor was embedded along the braid yam in order to monitor the changes of the complicated inner region of the 3-D braid structure. The good linearity between Bragg wavelength and temperature was verified by several preliminary experiments. The strain inside 3-D braided beam was estimated using FBG sensor system, and the result was compared with the calculated value. It was found that FBG sensor system is very useful technique to investigate inside region of complicated structure.

  • Active control of flexural vibrations of smart laminated composite beams has been carried out using piezoceramic sensor/actuator and viscoelastic material. The beams with passive constrained-layer damping have been analyzed by formulating the equations of motion through the use of extended Hamilton's principle. The dynamic characteristics such as damping ratio and modal damping of the beam are calculated for various fiber orientations by means of iterative complex eigensolution method, This paper addresses a design strategy of laminated composite under flexural vibrations to design structure with maximum possible damping capacity.

  • A modeling method for the modal analysis of a pre-twisted multi-packet blade system undergoing rotational motion is presented in this paper. Blades are idealized as pre-twisted cantilever beams that are fixed to a rotating disc. The stiffness coupling effects between blades due to the flexibilities of the disc and the shroud are modeled with discrete springs. The coupling effect between chordwise and flapwise bending deflection is also considered. Hybrid deformation variables are employed to derive the equations of motion. To obtain more general information, the equations of motion are transformed into dimensionless forms in which dimensionless parameters are identified. The effects of the dimensionless parameters and the number of packets as well as blades on the modal characteristics of the rotating multi-packet pre-twisted blade system are investigated with some numerical examples.

Stresses analyses of shell structure with large holes

  • The strength, deformation and buckling of a large engineering structure consisting of four ellipsoidal shells, two cylindrical shells with stiffening ribs and large holes, one conical shell and three pairs of large flanges under external pressure, self weight and heat sinks have been analysed by using two kinds of five different finite elements - four assumed displacement finite elements (shell element with curved surfaces, axisymmetric conical shell element with variable thickness, three dimensional eccentric beam element, axisymmetric solid revolutionary element) and an assumed stress hybrid element (a 3-dimensional special element developed by authors). The compatibility between different elements is enforced. The strength analyses of the top cover and the main vessel are described in the paper.

  • Surface wave scattering by periodic grooves of arbitrary profile in a grounded dielectric slab is investigated for the TE surface wave incidence. Both the finite and infinite periodic geometries are considered. The former case is analyzed by using of hybrid FEM/MOM and the latter by using of full MOM procedure. Some numerical results for the reflected and transmitted powers in a grounded dielectric slab, radiation power into the free space, and radiation patterns in case of finite structure and for the dispersion diagram in case of infinite structure are presented. And some descriptions on the relationship between the finite and infinite structure such as the maximum beam angle are given.

Crack Identification Using Neuro-Fuzzy-Evolutionary Technique

  • It has been established that a crack has an important effect on the dynamic behavior of a structure. This effect depends mainly on the location and depth of the crack. Toidentifythelocation and depth of a crack in a structure, a method is presented in this paper which uses neuro-fuzzy-evolutionary technique, that is, Adaptive-Network-based Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) solved via hybrid learning algorithm (the back-propagation gradient descent and the least-squares method) and Continuous Evolutionary Algorithms (CEAs) solving sir ale objective optimization problems with a continuous function and continuous search space efficiently are unified. With this ANFIS and CEAs, it is possible to formulate the inverse problem. ANFIS is used to obtain the input(the location and depth of a crack) - output(the structural Eigenfrequencies) relation of the structural system. CEAs are used to identify the crack location and depth by minimizing the difference from the measured frequencies. We have tried this new idea on beam structures and the results are promising.

  • 본 논문에서는 쇼트키 장벽 빔 리드 다이오드와 180$^{\circ}$ hybrid coupler를 이용하여 24.10GHz 대역에서 동작하는 단일 평형 주파수 혼합기를 설계 및 제작하였다. 제작된 혼합기는 변환손실이 6 [dB], RF/LO 격리도가 [23]dB, P1dB(in)는 5 [dBm]의 결과를 얻었다. 본 논문에서 제작한 혼합기는 근거리 표적 탐지용 homedyne 레이더에 이용가능 할 것이다.

  • In this paper, the absolute nodal coordinate formulation was introduced to describe the large deformation problems. And also, the modal coordinates were employed to represent the small elastic deformation. A new hybrid formulation was developed to combine the modal coordinates and the absolute nodal coordinates. A spherical joint and the DOT1 constraint were developed to carry out the numerical simulation of mechanical systems with kinematic joints. A beam example was suggested to show the new formulation. The simulation results using the modal coordinates and the absolute nodal coordinates show a good agreement to the experiments.
