성리학의 아동교육 목적으로서 근본배양에 관한 연구 (A Study on 'Cultivation of the Fundamental' of the Xing-Li-Xue(性理學) as Aim of Child Education)

  • This study investigates the meaning, the method of "Cultivation of the fundamental" as aim of child education in context of the Xing-Li-Xue(性理學) educational theory. Chu-hsi understood the meaning of "Cultivation of the fundamental" as Ching(敬, the cultivation of good nature in human mind). The method of "Cultivation of the fundamental" consists of quiet sitting(정좌), attention(주의집중), moral environment(도덕적 환경) and practicing propriety(예의 실습). Through quiet sitting and attention, learners may reach a condition of mind which is free of their selfish desires and in which they can find out their original nature. The education in Confucianism accepts the environment as a significant element in forming human personality. Making moral environment has leaners to take good value with ease. Characteristic of study in Xing-Li-Xue is to emphasize to observe concrete clauses of propriety. The reason why Xing-Li-Xue emphasizes propriety is that Mind Study may be maintained through Body Study. In conclusion, the "Cultivation of the fundamental" in the Xing-Li-Xue is to form the power to regulate selfish desires and thus behave more moderately. Along these points, not only quiet sitting which relexes the body and soul, but also song and dance are not considered as contrary to Xing-Li-Xue educational theory. The various ways of "Cultivation of the fundamental" of Xing-Li-Xue educational theory make people recognize, understand and experience good innate nature of human beings. And we can reach the conclusion that education of Xing-Li-Xue uses so many methods that learner can accept moral value as naturally as possible.

동무(東武) 성정론(性情論) 재고(再考) (Reconsideration about the Dong-Mu's Theory of Nature and Emotion)

  • 1. Objectives : This research was purposed to reconsider the Dong-Mu's Theory of Nature and Mind(生情論). 2. Methods : The Dong-Mu's interpretation on the first chapter of "The Doctrine of Mean(中庸)", and the related contents of Nature and Emotion(性情) in his literature such as "Gyukchigo(格致藁)", "Donguisusebowon-Sasang chobongyun(東醫壽世保元四象草本卷)" and "Donguisusebowon(東醫壽世保元)" were reviewed. 3. Results and Conclusions : 1. Dong-Mu reinterpreted the concepts about 'Providence(天命) and Human Nature(人性)', 'Not-yet-intentional state(未發) and Intentional state(已發)', 'Nature and Mind(性情)' and 'Equilibrium and Harmony(中和)' in "The Doctrine of Mean", and used these concepts as logical tools in explanation of his thoughts of Human being and medical theory. 2. The generating principle of Nature and Mind(性情) presented as sorrow, anger, joy and pleasure is 'the Principle of Human nature(性理)', which is embodied as 'the Principle of Organ(臟理)' in "Donguisusebowon". The Principle of Organ(臟理) is originated from Heart and lie at lung, spleen, liver and kidney as the form of Four Virtue(四德). 3. The Principle of Organ(臟理) has the position of superintendence and is the generating principle of Nature and Emotion(性情), by which the structural and functional variations between different constitutional types are formed. 4. Dong-Mu's newly established concept of Nature and Emotion(性情) is the core logic in his idea of physiology, pathology and self-cultivation.

동무(東武)의 "대학(大學)" 팔조목(八條目)에 대한 견해 고찰(考察) (A Study on Dongmu's Thoughts about the Eight Items of "The Great Learning(Ta hsueh)")

  • 1. Objectives This study was purposed to find Dong's thoughts about the eight items of the "The Great Learning(Ta hsueh)" 2. Methods It was researched through comparative and overall study on the Dong-mu's thoughts in "Gyukchigo(格致藁)" 3. Results (1) Dongmu reinterpreted the eight items of the "The Great Learning(Ta hsueh)" as the relations between the subject and the object from the ontologic assumption of Affairs Mind Body Objects as the principle of existence and correlation, summarized into four categories, and classified into the individual and subjective affairs, and the universal and objective affairs. The four categories of the eight items of the "The Great Learning(Ta hsueh)" are correlated with the individual and the universal ethics of behavior, and connected with the element for overcoming the individual inclination of mind and wickedness. (2) After the individual and subjective human was established, the eight items of the "The Great Learning(Ta hsueh)" were classified into two categories, and coupled up with each two items('Being sincere in their thoughts' with 'Extending to the utmost their knowledge', 'Rectifying their hearts' with 'Investigating things', 'Cultivating their persons' with 'Illustrating illustrious virtue throughout the kingdom', 'Regulating their families' with 'Ordering their own states'). Being based on this, 'Being sincere in their thoughts', 'Rectifying their hearts', 'Cultivating their persons' and 'Regulating their families' were understood as four individual and subjective human-basic-essential activity. Especially, mind, heart, body and family(power) were regarded as the four basic element in human existence and activity, and in correlation with universe and society, set up as the subjective element in Dongmu's epistemology, theory of nature and emotion, theory of morality and theory of moral cultivation.

동무(東武) 이제마(李濟馬)의 심욕(心慾)과 성정(性情)에 관한 고찰(考察) (A Study on Inclination of Mind(心慾) and Nature & Emotion(性情) of Sasang Constitutional Medicine)

Objectives This research is purposed to find Lee Je-Ma's thought on Inclination of Mind(心慾) and Nature & Emotion(性情), through summarizing sentences related to Inclination of Mind(心慾) and Nature & Emotion(性情) proposed in the chief writings on Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 2. Methods It was researched bibliologically with Lee Je-Ma's chief writings such as "Gyukchigo (Draft on Inquiring the Properties of Things, 格致藁)", "Dongyi Suse Bowon Sasang Chobongyun(東醫壽世保元四象草本卷)" "Dongyi Suse Bowon (Longevity and Life Preservation in Oriental Medicine, 東醫壽世保元)". 3. Results and Conclusions (1) Lee Je-Ma's Mind(心) is the dimension of the Great Absolute(Taegeuk,太極), and is related with Benevolence-Righteousness-Propriety-Wisdom(仁義禮智) (2) Human being is classified Taeyangin(太陽人), Taeumin(太陰人), Soyangin(少陽人), Soeumin(少陰人) by SungLi(性理), and The Mean(鄙人), TheWeek(薄人), The Avaricious(貪人), The Sycophantic(懦人) by JungYok(情慾) in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. (3) Nature & Emotion(性情) of Sorrow-Anger-Joy-Pleasure(喜怒哀樂) is divided into two function. One is native function related with SungLi(性理), the other is acquired function related with JungYok(情慾). Also all two native and acquired function is related with Benevolence-Righteousness-Propriety-Wisdom(仁義禮智). (4) The Mean(鄙人), The Week(薄人), The Avaricious(貪人), The Sycophantic(懦人) may be defined as the state of Inclination of Mind(心慾) of Taeyangin(太陽人), Taeumin(太陰人), Soyangin(少陽人), Soeumin(少陰人) by function of acquired Emotion(情).

Participation by Community Volunteers and Strategies for the Efficient Use of Human Resources

  • Volunteer services in communities work to provide human and material resources needed in social welfare centers and help the centers efficiently and effectively respond to diverse needs in society as well as provide quality services to clients. With this in mind, this study presents a few political suggestions on their utilization. First, potential volunteer development should be done in communities. Second, users of diverse volunteering services should be developed. Third, centers should pay attention to promotion of volunteers and the volunteers should be completely educated before services are rendered.

사랑할까, 먹을까?: 동물과 성적 객체화된 여성에 대한 마음지각과 고기를 먹는 행동의 관계 (Loving or Eating?: Eating Meat and Mind Perception toward Animals and Sexually Objectified Women)

  • 동물은 마음을 갖고 있는가? 우리는 동물의 마음을 실제로 잘 알 수 없기 때문에 동물과의 관계를 통해 동물의 마음을 추정할 가능성이 높다. 본 연구에서는 동물을 사랑하는 태도와 고기를 먹는 행동에 대한 모순적 관계를 동물에 대한 마음지각의 맥락에서 두 개의 연구를 통해 검증하였다. 연구 1에서는 다양한 동물에 대한 마음지각을 경험의 차원과 주도성의 차원에서 분석하였다. 연구 2에서는 소를 고기로 기술한 실험조건과 고기가 아닌 동물로 기술한 통제조건에서 소와 성적 객체화된 여성에 대한 마음지각을 각각 측정하였다. 그 결과 연구 1에서는 동물에 대한 마음지각의 정도가 높을수록 고기를 먹는 행동을 도덕적으로 옳지 않은 것으로 판단하는 평정점수가 높았다. 연구 2에서는 소를 고기로 기술한 실험조건에서 통제조건보다 소와 성적 객체화된 여성에 대한 마음지각이 통제조건보다 낮게 나타났다. 따라서 동물이 '고기'로 제시되는 상황에서는 동물에 대한 마음지각의 조정을 통해 동물을 해치는 행동에 대한 심리적 불편감을 감소시킬 가능성을 생각해볼 수 있다. 이 결과는 인지부조화이론에 따라 고기를 먹는 행동과 동물에 대한 태도의 차이에서 발생하는 심리적 불편감을 줄이고자 동물에 대한 마음지각을 조정하는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 또한 동물에 대한 객체화는 인간에 대한 객체화 및 마음지각에 영향을 끼침을 추정해볼 수 있다. 이 결과는 마음지각, 인지부조화이론 및 객체화이론이 일상에서의 도덕성과 연관된 태도와 행동의 모순적 관계를 설명하는데 유용함을 보여준다.

21세기 과학적 소양 평가기준 개발 및 교과서 내용 분석에의 적용 (Development and Application of $21^{st}$ Century Scientific Literacy Evaluation Framework on Korean High School Science Text Books)

  • 본 연구는 21세기 과학적 소양을 탐색하기 위한 평가 기준을 개발하고, 이를 교과서 내용 분석에 적용하였다. 21세기 과학적 소양의 하위 영역으로 과학적 사고습관(habits of mind), 과학에서의 가치관(character and value), 과학 본성의 이해(science as human endeavor)를 설정하고, 각 하위 영역에 대한 평가 요소와 평가 기준을 개발하였다. 개발된 평가 기준은 21세기 과학적 소양이 교육 상황에서 실제 실현되고 있는가를 확인할 수 있는 지표이다. 개발된 평가 도구를 사용하여 2009 개정 교육과정에 기반을 둔 과학 교과서 내용에서 21세기 과학적 소양의 3개 영역에 관련된 내용이 포함되어 있음을 확인하였다. 이 중 과학적 사고 습관에 관련된 내용이 가장 높은 비율을 차지하였으며 과학에서의 가치관과 과학본성의 이해에 관련된 내용은 상대적으로 부족한 것을 알 수 있었다. 개발된 21세기 과학적 소양 평가 기준은 교과서 내용 분석 외에도 교실 수업 평가, 교사 평가, 교수-학습 자료의 평가에 활용하여 현장 과학 수업 실행에 대한 실질적인 이해를 가져올 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

동무(東武)의 인심(人心)·도심론(道心論) (A Study on Iinsim(人心;ren-hsin)-Tosim(道心;dao-hsin) Thought of Lee Je-ma)

  • 1. Objectives Theory of Iinsim Tosim(the Human - Mind and the Moral - Mind) that originated from "Sang-Seo(尙書)" "Dae-Woo-Mo(大禹謨)" is a relative importance point of dispute at the existing confucianism and chosun's neo confucianism. Our consideration point is that a close examination of relation between Iinsim-Tosim theory of existing confucianism's and Lee Je-ma's thought of Iinsim Tosim and his creative exposition that is related to view of human being contained theory of sasang(四象), knowledge & conduction(Jihang, 知行). 2. Methods of Research We analyze "Gyukchigo(格致藁)" that is contained confucianism's contents and Lee Je-ma's view point of human being, and consult " Dongyi Suse Bowon chobongeun(東醫壽世保元草本卷)", "Dongyi Suse Bowon(東醫壽世保元)", reference about confucianism and some other thesis. 3. Results (1) Lee Je-ma's thought of Iinsim Tosim is closely connected each other. There is close correlation between Iinsim and Tosim such as both ends. And Iinsim Tosim is not virtue and vice relation but all good concept, though each have fragility, Iinsim have weakness of laziness and Tosim have that of desire. (2) Lee Je-ma insist on having lisim(理心)-kyungsim(敬心) for overcoming each fragility that weakness of laziness and desire. And he present learning(學) and speculation(思) for acquirement of lisim(理心) kyungsim(敬心). (3) Lee Je-ma's thought of Iinsim Tosim's containing meaning is not one side but both side for nature(性) & emotion(情). therefore Iinsim Tosim is closely connected Lee Je-ma's view of human being and theory of knowledge & conduction(Ji-Hang, 知行論). That is very different from existing confucianism & MyungSunlock(Book of Illuminating Goodnes)'s thought. (4) Iinsim is connected with knowledge(知), Tosim is connected with conduction(行) (5) Lee Je-ma's thought of Affairs - Mind - Body - Objects(事心身物) is closely connected with Iinsim-Tosim. 4. Conclusions There are no parts that directly criticized by LEE JE-MA, comparing with he's thought and the existing confucianism's theory of Iinsim Tosim, a specific person's theory. but LEE JE-MA approached the theory of Iinsim Tosim with thought that is not an extension of existing confucianism's thought, but original with himself, therefore LEE JE-MA's thought of Iinsim Tosim is closely connected with the most important conceptions (theory of nature & emotion, theory of knowledge & conduction) at the Sasang Constitutional Medicine. and Iinsim Tosim is an important clue for understanding the thought of LEE JE-MA.

불쾌한 골짜기: 로봇 속성의 의인화, 마음지각 및 도덕적 처우의 관계 (Uncanny Valley: Relationships Between Anthropomorphic Attribution to Robots, Mind Perception, and Moral Care)

  • 의인화는 로봇과 같이, 인간이 아닌 대상에게 인간의 속성, 정서나 의도를 부여하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 로봇에게 인간 고유의 속성을 부여하는 의인화가 로봇-인간의 상호작용에 끼치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연구 1에서는 다양한 로봇의 사진을 제시하고, 로봇의 외관에 따른 심리적 불쾌감, 마음지각 및 도덕적 처우를 자기보고식 질문지를 통해 분석하였다. 그 결과 로봇의 외관이 인간과 가장 유사한 안드로이드 로봇조건에서 휴머노이드 로봇의 조건과 기계적 외관의 조건보다 로봇에 대한 심리적 불쾌감이 가장 높았다. 또한 인간과 유사한 안드로이드 로봇에서 기계와 비슷한 로봇보다 로봇에 대한 마음지각이 더 높게 나타났다. 연구 2에서는 로봇의 속성을 의인화한 조건과 의인화하지 않은 조건에서 로봇에 대한 불쾌감, 마음지각과 도덕적 처우의 정도가 다르게 나타나는지를 비교하였다. 그 결과 로봇 속성의 의인화조건에서 로봇에 대한 마음지각과 도덕적 처우의 정도가 더 높게 나타났으며, 마음지각의 경험성이 높을수록 도덕적 처우의 정도가 더 높아졌다. 이 결과는 인간과 유사한 로봇의 외관은 로봇에 대한 심리적 불쾌감을 증가시키지만, 로봇의 속성에 대한 의인화는 로봇에 대한 마음지각을 증가시키고, 인간-로봇의 상호작용을 촉진 시킬 가능성을 제시한다. 논의에서는 의인화가 인간-로봇의 상호작용에 끼치는 차별화된 영향에 대한 시사점을 토론하고, 연구의 한계 및 후속연구의 방향을 다루었다.

Transcendency and Embracement in Fashion Designs

  • Fashion designs reflect the trend of the times embedded within the cultural structures of eastern and western civilizations as well as the traditional styles. However, the motives in fashion designs fundamentally come from human beings' willingness for creation through deep understand of nature or using symbolism and artificial esthetic appreciation. Mankind has expressed their willingness for creation through speculation not with the attitude of conquering nature but by acknowledging the flow between their lives and nature. The purpose of this paper is to investigate human beings' transcendental and embracing attitude toward the natural environment and the human environment in fashion design. In natural environment factors, sublimity toward nature's marvelous powers and the transcending state of mind within happiness and delight or the extreme fear or unavoidable coerciveness and the consequential daunting feelings and smallness, and sorrow all stimulate the will of mental speculation and cause a transcending sublimity. A sublime state of mind does not exist in a superficial framework of enjoyment. It is rather an act of transcendence and embracement residing in a sublime object and leading man's spirit into a state of philosophical thought. Also, in man-made Environment factors, we found from magnanimity we were ability to see the true nature of an era's culture.
