The sample group used in this research includes the company president, business owner, managing director, assistant managing director, general manager or human resources manager of 140 listed companies. The research instrument is a scale-estimated questionnaire. The obtained data were subjected to principal component analysis and were analyzed for the rotation of the perpendicular component using the Varimax method. Results were generated through the analysis of eight components, consisting of decision-making, creativity, strategic thinking, relationship and communication, teamwork, adaptability, self-management, and motivation. The research results demonstrate important components in human resource performance that are critical to the successful development of organizations. Organizations can apply these components to the development of human resource competencies in accordance with the operations that need to be adjusted to suit the changes that occur. These rapidly-changing conditions are important factors that can be studied and developed into variables and components that affect human resource performance in the future. As a result, organizations need to adjust to be well prepared to face problems and challenges in the harsh competitive environment in the future.

  • There is no universally agreed classification of human error, nor is there one in prospect. Thus, a taxonomy is usually made for a specific purpose. To seek the types of human errors in the environment of man-machine interface under the railway industry, we develop a cognitive information processing model incorporating the human's mental states. Using the model, this study investigates the types of human errors about the railway workers. Thus, a survey is conducted for railway safety personnel-locomotive engineers, station employees, and train commanders- in Korean railway company. Through the survey that is designed to investigate four types of human errors from the Questionnaires composed of thirty Questions, we analyze the types of human errors related to railway safety according to affiliated offices, operation shifts, age, and working years. Finally, from the insights of the results some guidelines for the railway safety management are presented.

  • This study is focused on analyzing whether strategic human resource management practices influence organizational effectiveness such as organizational citizenship behavior and customer orientation. In addition, it also aims to analyze the mediating effect of perceived organizational support between strategic human resource management practices and organizational citizenship behavior and customer orientation. The samples are from five Veterans Hospital and of 344 questionnaires collected, 311 were used in the final analysis. SPSS(18.0) and AMOS(16.0) were employed to describe data and test hypotheses. The findings are as follows: First of all, it is found that education and training and hiring management have positive effects on perceived organizational support while only education and training has a positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Secondly, results reveal that career management and hiring management influences customer orientation while only perceived organizational support does organizational citizenship behavior and customer orientation affects organizational citizenship behavior. Thirdly, it is also found that perceived organizational support mediates the relationship between career management and organizational citizenship behavior and that between hiring management and organizational citizenship behavior. In other words, perceived organizational support is a full mediator between career management and organizational citizenship behavior and between hiring management and organizational citizenship behavior because there is no direct effect of career management and hiring management on organizational citizenship. However, results show that any perceived organizational support doesn't mediate the relationship between all strategic human resource management practices and customer orientation.

  • Purpose : The aim of this study is to review the current status of healthcare provision and its human resources administrative management and propose a coordinated human resource management plan for the more efficient operations of healthcare organizations. Methods : We reviewed the literature and held discussions with officials from the United States Department of Health and Human Services to survey United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps operations. In addition, we surveyed the literature to analyze the current structure and responsibilities of governing bodies involved in public healthcare in Korea. Results : In Korea, there are several administrative offices involved in public health: the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Defense, the Environment Ministry and others. Since these diverse agencies don't integrate their operations, it is difficult to grasp their management of both public healthcare services and their personnel. A potential model is the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, a sub-group of the Department of Health and Human Services and an elite team of highly qualified, public health professionals, which coordinates and manages the overall work and personnel of diverse healthcare organizations. Conclusion : We suggest the establishment of a federal level, public health administrative department of human resource management to centralize and coordinate the existing, disparate healthcare administrative agencies.

Organizations have started to worry about the environment and are beginning to invest in and practice green strategies. Companies should be responsible for the environment and use sustainable methods to run their businesses. The main purpose of this study is to explore the conceptual approach to Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices and Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER) in the hospitality industry. The theoretical framework of GHRM practices such as green recruitment, green selection, green training and development, green performance appraisal, green reward and compensation, and corporate environmental responsibility have been comprehensively studied for this purpose. Green Human Resource Management in the hospitality sector is a less studied and rarely implemented phenomenon. The integration of GHRM and CER along with green competitive advantage and green supply chain management in hospitality is new concept in hospitality industry. Study suggests that Corporate environmental responsibility (CER) and Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) have a significant role in the hospitality industry. However, for sustainable development of tourism and hospitality, this concept should be capitalized with necessary research and development.

  • A project constructing sewerage facilities in 9 upstream areas of 7 multi-purpose dams will have been completed by 2011. After all constructing and retrofitting of the new and the existing sewerage facilities, integrated management system with operation and control functions for the each levels of facilities will also be utilized. In this study, we studied how to compose the organization taking responsibility of the integrated management system and analysed human resources saving effect against conventional method of individual management of each sewerage facility. As a result, a method estimating the human resources in employing the integrated management among several sewerage facilities at upstream areas of dams were presented and some 23% of human resources could be saved by integrated management. Commissioning to a specialized public institute showed the highest B/C ratio of 4.5 among commissioning to local public corporations, commissioning to private corporations, and role-sharing partnership, etc.

  • This paper reviewed the relationship between job stress and human error, and the moderating effect of age and maintenance type on the relationship between job stress and human error in maintenance personnel. Based on the responses from 450 maintenance personnels, the results of multiple regression analysis showed that physiological and psychological stress responses have positively related with human error. In moderating effect test, age appeared to impact on the relationship between physiological/behavioral stress and human error.

  • For years, many studies have mainly been investigated in a complicated human motion analysis. Recently, many motion analysis equipments have been studied and developed. Therefore, the more complex human movement analyses are possible, we have enabled us to perform more and more complicated human movement analyses. A Three-dimensional(3D) motion analysis on of the several methods is a useful tool for analyzing the human motion analysis. The purpose of this study was to develop the 3D human motion analysis using a kalman filter algorithm and a gyro sensor. The algorithm and sensor were used to human motion analysis with high-speed motion capture. In this study, the developed system will be adapted to facilitate golf swing analysis. Using the developed system, golfers and coaches who do not have advanced biomechanical knowledge can easily be used to their golf swing analysis. Future study is necessary for more practical and efficient area such as other sports industries, 3D game industries, rehabilitation training, etc..

The sample consisted of 792 married women living in Seoul. The statistical methods used for analysis included Reliability, Frequencies, Percent, Mean, Standard Deviation, Multiple Regression Analysis. The major results can be summarized as following 1) Among the sub-dimensions, the score of risk management is the most high, 39.00. 2) There are statistically significant differences in the levels and factors which influence on the financial management behavior to the 5 dimensions.(Korean J of Human Ecology 2(l) : 12-24, 1999)
