A New Superconductor with the 1212 Structure $(Pb,Sn)Sr_2(Ca,Lu)Cu_2O_z$

  • New cuprates with the nominal composition $(Pb_{0.75}Sn_{0.25})Sr_2(Ca_{1-x}Lu_x)Cu_2O_z(x=0.4{\sim}1.0)$ have been synthesized. These materials exhibit superconducting properties for 0.4 $\leq$ x $\leq$ 0.7. It is also observed that the superconductivity of the as-prepared sample is enhanced by post-annealing at high temperature followed by quenching. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the c lattice parameter decreases as x increases whereas the a lattice parameter is nearly independent of the value of x for both the as-prepared and the post-treated samples. The thermoelectric power measurements indicate that the post-heat-treatments result in an increase in the hole carrier density which account for the observed increase of $T_c$. Bulk superconductivity with a $T_c$ value of 60 K is observed in this system.

  • PRAM(Phase change access memory) has desirable characteristics including high speed, low cost, low power, and simple process. PRAM is based on the reversible phase transition between resistive amorphous and conductive crystalline states of chalcogenide. However, PRAM needs high reset current for operation. PRAM have to reduce reset current for high density and competitiveness. Therefore, we have investigated the reset current of PRAM with top electrode contact hole size using 3-D finite element analysis tool in this paper.

박용 대형 저속 디젤기관 연료분사계통의 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구 (A Study on a Simulation of a Fuel Injection System in a Large Low-Speed Marine Diesel Engines)

  • In this study, a simulation program was developed, which could simulate a fuel injection system for low-speed marine diesel engine. The fuel injection system was divided into fuel injection pump, high pressure pipe and fuel injection valve. The unsteady flow in the high pressure injection pipe was analyzed by the method of characteristics, considering cavitation and variation of fuel density and bulk modulus. It was confirmed that the simulation results were good agree with experimental results of injection pressure and quantity at the high pressure distributor in fuel injection system for the training ship "M/V Hannara". And the effects of the atomizer hole diameter, maximum needle lift, plunger diameter and nozzle opening pressure were also investigated with simulating results.g results.

Transport parameters in a-Se:As films for digital X-ray conversion material using the moving-photocarrier-grating technique

  • The effects of As addition In amorphous selenium (a-Se) films for digital X-ray conversion material have been studied using the moving photocarrier grating (MPG) technique We have found an increase in hole drift mobility and recombination lifetime, especially when 0.3% As is added into a-Se film, whereas electron mobility decreases with As addition due to the defect density. The transport properties for As doped a-Se films obtained by using MPG technique have been compared with X-ray sensitivity for a-Se:As X-ray device. The fabricated a-Se (0.3%As) based X-ray detector exhibited the highest X-ray sensitivity of 5 samples.

  • Optical and electrical properties of GaSe:Er\ulcorner single crystals grown by the Bridgenman technique have been investigated by using optical absorption and h\Hall-effect measurement system. The Hall coefficients were mea-sured by using a high impedance electrometer in the temperature range from 360K to 150K. The temperature dependence of hole concentration show the characteristic of a partially compensated p-type semiconductor. Carrier density(N\ulcorner) of GaSe doped with Erbium was measured about 3.25$\times$10\ulcorner [cm\ulcorner] at temperature 300K, which was higher than undoped specimen. Photon energy gap (E\ulcorner) of GaSe:Er\ulcorner specimen was measured about 1.79eV.

Spin-polarized energy-gap opening in asymmetric bilayer graphene nanoribbons

  • Electronic and magnetic properties of bilayer zigzag graphene nanoribbon (bZGNR) are studied using pseudopotential density functional method. The edge atoms in the top and bottom layers of bZGNR make a weak hybridization, which leads to electronic structures different from monolayer ZGNR. For asymmetric bZGNR, where the top and bottom layers have different widths, one edge is pinched by the interlayer bonding and the other sustains antiferromagnetic ordering. A small amount of charge transfer occurs from narrower to wider layer, producing spin-polarized electron and hole pockets. External electric field produces asymmetric energy-gap opening for each spin component, inducing half-metallicity in bZGNR.

Charge Transfer between Graphene and a Strong Electron Acceptor, Tetrafluorotetracyanoquinodimethane (F4-TCNQ)

  • Graphene, a single atomic layer of sp2-bonded carbon, shows substantial potential for various applications. Chemical manipulation of its electronic properties will be of great importance. In this study, we have investigated interaction between graphene and organic molecular layer of tetrafluorotetracyanoquinodimethane (F4-TCNQ), a strong electron acceptor. F4-TCNQ films of varying thickness were evaporated onto graphene mechanically exfoliated on SiO2/Si substrates. F4-TCNQ molecules increase the frequencies of Raman G and 2D bands of graphene while decreasing the linewidth of G band and 2D/G intensity ratio, which is consistent with increase of hole density in graphene. These results exemplify the possibility of chemical tuning of electronic properties of graphene.

노즐부근에서의 비정상분무 거동 (Observations on the Near-Nozzle Behavior of an Unsteady Fuel Spray)

  • Observations on the near-nozzle behavior of an unsteady fuel spray through single cylindrical hole nozzle were made by phase Doopler anemometer and microphotographs. At the edge of the spray, droplet velocity peaked during needle opening and closing. Droplet sizes tended to be small on the edge of spray. The near-nozzle spray angle taken from the microphotographs was time-dependent, even though it increased with gas-to-liquid density ratio as expected. The near-nozzle spray angle was the greatest on the initial stage and decreased to a relatively constant value after about one third of the total injection duration regardless of the ambient gas conditions, even in the near-vaccum condition. The wider near-nozzle spray angle in the early stage is due to the flow characteristics inside the nozzle rather than aerodynamic interactions. However, once the spray was established, aerodynamic interactions are essential in the near-nozzle atomization.

  • 본 연구에서는 반도체 기술의 핵심으로 알려있는 플라즈마 표면 처리 공정을 이용하여 인위적으로 그래핀과 기능기 반응을 통한 도핑효과를 일으켜, 전계효과(Electric Field Effect)를 인가하였을 때 그래핀 내에서 발생하는 Electron & Hole carrier 들의 accumulation & Depletion 효과에 의한 Charge Density 변화를 Graphene Field Effect Transistors (GFETs) 소자의 전기적 특성 변화를 확인하였다. 특히, 그래핀 내 Conduction of electron을 높이기 위하여, $N_2+H_2$ 가스 조합을 플라즈마 방전가스로 사용하였으며, Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) 및 Langmuir-probe 측정을 통하여 합성가스의 ICP 방전 상태 및 효과를 예측하였다.

고압분사 시 연료분무 특성에 관한 연구 (Fuel Spray Characteristics in the High Pressure Injection Process)

  • Constant volume combustion chamber has been designed to investigate diesel spray characteristics with Common-Rail injection system to realize high pressure injection. In this study, two methods of measurements, Schlieren shadowgraphy and Mie scattering imaging method ate applied experimentally to study spray form and liquid phase zone in high pressure, high temperature conditions. Diesel fuel is injected at the point which ignited mixture gas is completely burned. The effect of injection pressure, injector hole diameter, ambient gas temperature and density are investigated experimentally.
