Drop casting, a solution process, is a simple low-cost fabrication technique that does not waste material. In this study, we elucidate the effect of the concentration of a InGaZnO solution on the electrical properties of drop-cast oxide thin-film transistors. The higher the concentration the larger the amount of remnant InGaZnO solutes, which yields a thicker thin film. Accordingly, the electrical properties were strongly dependent on the concentration. At a high concentration of 0.3 M (or higher), a large current flowed but did not lead to switching characteristics. At a concentration lower than 0.01 M, switching characteristics were observed, but the mobility was small. In addition to a high mobility, sufficient switching characteristics were obtained at a concentration of 0.1 M owing to the appropriate thickness of the semiconductor layer. This study provides a technical basis for the low-cost fabrication of switching devices capable of driving a sensor array.
Objectives: This study was conducted in order to investigate the diesel exhaust particle(DEP) concentrations in the thirteen parking lots of large shopping complex. Methods: The real-time black carbon(BC) concentration was determined using an Aethalometer, and elemental/organic carbon concentration was determined according to the method of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH) 5040. The particle number concentration(NC), lung deposited surface area concentration(LDSA) and geometric mean diameter(GMD) were determined using a DiSCmini aerosol monitor. Results: The average concentration of BC, EC, OC, NC, LDSA and GMD were $19.1{\mu}g/m^3$, $12.6{\mu}g/m^3$, $51.5{\mu}g/m^3$, $94,000particles/cm^{-3}$, $298{\mu}m^2/cm^{-3}$ and 57 nm in all parking lots, respectively, approximately 3-fold higher than those found in the urban outdoor. The average concentration of BC were $21.3{\mu}g/m^3$ in underground parking lots, 3-fold higher than above parking lots. Conclusions: Therefore, the parking lots at the large shopping complex can be considered a potentially dangerous environment with a high concentration of DEP nanoparticles.
The uptake of $^{14}C$-2, 4, 6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) in hydroponics was studied using onion plants. Of the total TNT mass (5 $\mu\textrm{M}$ concentration), 75% was in the roots, 4.4% in the leaves, and 21% in the external solution at 2 days, The percent distribution in roots was lower with higher concentration in the external solution, but in leaves it was comparable at all concentrations (5-500 $\mu\textrm{M}$). Root concentration factor (RCF) in hydroponics was more than 85 in constant hydroponic experiment (CHE) at 5 $\mu\textrm{M}$ and 150 in non-constant hydroponic experiment (NHE) at 5 $\mu\textrm{M}$. The maximum RCF values in the hydroponic system were greater with lower solution concentration. Transpiration stream concentration factor (TSCF) values in the present study (NHE only: 0.31-0.56) were relatively similar to the values with predicted values (0.43-0.78), increasing with higher external TNT concentration. For phytotoxicity tested in hydroponics and wet paper method, 500 $\mu\textrm{M}$ was toxic to onion plant, 50 $\mu\textrm{M}$ was non-toxic for plant growth but limited the transpiration rate, and 5 $\mu\textrm{M}$ was non-toxic as control.
Scaffolds are the structures that safely protect sensors in various parts of the body. Because of scaffolds must protect sensors from load, the tensile strength of the scaffolds must be higher than 750 kgf/cm2. Currently, the tensile strength of scaffolds made with the 3d printer is 714 kgf/cm2. We confirm that the tensile strength of the scaffolds increase using air with high nitrogen concentration. In this study, we conducted experiments to find nitrogen concentrations in which the tensile strength of the specimen is higher than 750 kgf/cm2. The nitrogen control device and the nitrogen concentration sensor were installed in the chamber type 3d printer. The nitrogen concentration inside the 3d printer was changed by 5 % from 80 % to 100 %. Specimens of ASTM D 638 standard were produced under changed nitrogen concentration. We measured the tensile strength of specimens. We compared the tensile strength of specimens produced under each nitrogen concentration. We confirmed that when air with nitrogen concentration of 90 % was used, the tensile strength of scaffolds were 762 kgf/cm2.
This survey is executed about the water quality and improvement measure of Imjin- river. The results are summarized as follows; 1 ) Ammonia nitrogen concentration in tap water was two times higher than drinking water standard. 2) The concentration of BOD in textile wastewater was 235ppm which is higher than wastewater distribution standard and leather wastewater showed high nitrogen concentration. 3) Water quality of the Imjin- river upstream was not in problem but that of Shin- stream showed somewhat high concentration in BOD, COD, and ammonia nitrogen. Especially the detected Cynide compound on the lower of Shin- stream implied seriously polluted condition. 4) The heavy metal in soil of the river bed was not detected but iron, zinc was detected to high concentration. 5) It Is urgently suggested to build more municipal sewage and sanitary treatment plants, and run dredging and river bed rearrangement project. 6) The Construction of the wastewater treatment complexes of relevant industries shall be propelled as soon as possible.
Clarified apple, carrot and orange juices were prepared using ultrafiltration and their single and blend juices were further concentrated using ultrafiltration, freeze-drying, and rotary evaporation. Effect of concentration methods on the quality of concentrated single juices and juice blends was investigated. Turbidity values of samples concentrated by evaporation were significantly higher than those prepared by ultrafiltration and vacuum freezing regardless of juice source (i.e., apple, orange or carrot) or blending (p<0.05). The highest soluble solids contents were obtained for the samples concentrated by evaporation process. Concentrated apple juice contained significantly higher amount of vitamin C and soluble solids than concentrated orange and carrot juices regardless of concentration methods (p<0.05). For blended samples, no direct relationships between blend ratio and total amount of vitamin C were found; however, samples contained more apple juice showed the highest value of soluble solids regardless of concentration methods.
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of preincubation time, concentration and exposure time of sperm on in vitro fertilization of porcine follicular oocytes rnatured in in vitro. The results obtained are as follows ; 1. Effect of preincuhation time for porcine sperm capacitation on in vitro fertilization in medium with heparin was investigated. Normal fertilization rate was highest in 15 min(26.4%). However, there were no significant differences among preincuhation times of 5~90 min, 2. Normal fertilization rates of sperm concentrations were 17.0~26.5%, and normal fertilization rate from l$\times$ l05cell /ml concentration was also higher than those of other sperm concentration. 3. Normal fertilization rates of sperm exposure time of 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 hours were 6.1, 20.8, 27.8, 25.0 and 26.7%, respectively. Normal fertilization rate from sperm exposure time of 12 hours was also higher than that of other sperm exposure times.
This study was investigated the distributions of heavy metal concentration in a soil near abandoned mine in Chung thong Nam Do. The abandoned mines were Gubong gold mine and Sinsung coal mine. The results were as follows : 1) The concentration of As and Pb in Gubong mine were 309.2mg/kg and 1163.5mg/kg, that is exceeded the countermeasure criteria. Cadmium concentration was 14.70mg/kg, that is exceeded anxiety criteria. But all items in Sinsung coal mine was detected below criteria. 2) The heavy metals contamination of riverbed soil by gold mine showed higher than coal mine. 3) The heavy metals contamination in the vicinal paddy and dry field soil area was higher than other mine. Arsenic concentration was 29.29mg/kg, that is exceeded the anxiety criteria as 10.22mg/kg.
Proton exchange membrane (PEM) water electrolysis systems offer several advantages over traditional technologies including higher energy efficiency, higher production rates, and more compact design. In this study, all the experiments were performed with a self-designed PEM electrolyser operated at 1 atm and $25^{\circ}C$. Two types of electrolyte were used: (i) potassium hydroxide (KOH), and (ii) sulfuric acid ($H_2SO_4$). In the experiments, the voltage, current, and time were measured. The concentration of the electrolyte significantly affected the electrolyser performance. Overall the best case was with 15 wt% $H_2SO_4$ at the anode channel and 20 wt% at the cathode channel with. In addition, increasing the difference in concentration of the sulfuric acid had an effect on the diffusion. The diffusion flux became larger when the difference in concentration became larger, increasing electrolyser efficiency without the addition of extra energy.
Graft polymerization mechanism and rate of polymerization of MMA and MMA/4-VP onto cellulose fiber using Ce(IV) salt as an initiatior were investigated. It was shown that the concentration of Ce(IV) salt affected on the graft yield, graft efficiency, total conversion and the rate of graft polymerization. The graft yield and total cenversion for MMA grafted polymer were significantly higher than those for MMA/4-VP grafted polymer with variation of CAN concentration. In this system the oxidative termination by Ce(IV) salt was considered particularly in higher concentration Ce(IV) ion. The change in the mode of termination reactions with variation of CAN concentration made possible the presence of an optimum Ce(IV) ion concentration for maximum graft yield.
